Notes
 To change colors in the round, I highly recommend using this method to conceal the color changes
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wCRByQ-pmhM
 To decrease sc stitches – Draw up a loop in next stitch, draw up loop in the next stitch. Yarn over and draw
through all 3 loops.
 Work in the round (continuous) with the exception of the heel, which is working in rows.
 When working in the rounds, I recommend using stitch markers at the end of each round while you’re
increasing. I don’t use stitch markers when in rounds with the same number of stitches (rounds 5-11 and 20-30).
 Use double strands throughout.
 Ch 1 at beginning of rows on the heel does not count as 1st st.

INSTRUCTIONS

Toe
Starting at the toe with double strand, working in the round:
Round 1 - In magic circle (see link above for the easiest magic circle ever), sc 6 (6 st)
Round 2 – SC 2 in each st around (12 st)
Round 3 – *SC 2 in next st, SC 1 in next st* Rep 5 times (18 st)
Round 4 - *SC 2 in next st, SC 1 in next 2 st* Rep 5 times (24 st)
(Change to new color if you want a contrast toe color)
Rounds 5-11 – SC in next 24 st (24 st)
Continue to heel. Do not fasten off yarn unless you change colors.

Heel
(change to new color if you want a contrast heel color)
Heel is worked in rows:
Row 12 – SC in next 12 st (12 st)
Row 13-17 – Ch 1, turn, SC in next 12 st (12 st)
Row 18 – Ch 1, turn, SC in next 4 st, *SC Dec* Rep once, SC in next 4 st (10 st)
Row 19 - Ch 1, turn, SC in next 3 st, *SC Dec* Rep once, SC in next 3 st (8 st)

Connect with sl st to 1st SC to form a circle:

(change to new color if you want to end contrast heel color)

Round 20 – (working in the round) SC around side of heel, front of stocking, to other side of heel (29 st). Remove hook
and leave yarn attached.

Close up heel:
Turn stocking inside out and attach a single strand of about 18” of yarn (folded in half) to bottom of open slit on back of
heel. Slip stitch up heel with 3 st. Fasten off & weave in ends. (I used a contrast color to make it easy to see. I
recommend using a matching color so the seam is invisible.)

Rounds 21-50: Continue working in round, SC in next 29 st (29 st)

You can make any color changes in these rounds.

Hanging Tab
End final round at left side of stocking.

Switch to K hook, continue with 2 strands from final round, Ch 20, HDC in 3rd Ch from hook and HDC in next 17 st (18 st).
Fold tab in half (to the inside) and Sl St to Round 20. Knot and weave in end securely.
