Milk Processing:

1. What did you do for this process?

The first process is pasteurizing milk from which it adds skimming, so that the fat will lessen and
it will then put to cool down.
2. How much time it consume for this process?

In every batch of milk boiling, it will takes 30 minutes.

3. So, in this kind of process, is it what you always do every day?

This process is not everyday, because it is just for milk feeding, for example, this process is, our
milk feeding is every 120 days, so this process is for 120 days.

4. Sir, can you explain what are the functions of those machines?

1. so, as we have already started, you have already saw the those tanks, those tanks there that
you saw is called pasteurizer tank.

2. so if we based on cooking, in every bags, there has a temperature, for example, this milk we
are cooking, if it will reach in to 75 degrees Celsius, it will then run. Then it will pass to tank 1 which is
that big one, called homogenizer, then it has fret between them, that what we called heat exchanger, so
from hot products it will get through out with a cold temperature.

5. What are the problem you’ve always encountered?

The most problem that we’ve always encounter in this processor is the technicalities, as we use gasul,
the ingredients, the skim milk, also if we encountered a broken machine.

6. That milk that you’ve cook, where does this came from?

This milk was came from our dairy, our dairy always produce milk every day .

7. In what days that it don’t have a process here?

The process here is daily, even Saturday nor Sunday, Christmas nor New Year there is always a process.

8. What are the best seller here?

The best products are the choco milk.

Getting milk from a carabao.

1. What are the process you’ve done here?

a. Before the process, we wash the carabao before milking and then if there has
something to the milk, we separate it.
2. So, how long would it take for this kind of process?
a. For milking, it takes 5 minutes for every hour.
3. What kind of problems that you usually encounters in this process?
a. Leftover from a carabao’s breast,
4. At what age usually the carabao can produce milk?
a. At the age of 3, the carabao is ready for milking.
5. In terms of the machine you’ve used, what are the significant of it in terms of science and
technology?
a. Science and technology has a big help, because if there has a cow that can’t be done ,
through hand milking, the machine will support,. Otherwise, there has a carabao that
can’t manage through machine, it will then through handmilking.
6. How many carabao usually used in milking?
a. 46 every day. Whole day of milking, it produces 340 gallons of milk.
7. Explain how the machine works.
a. The machine vacuum the milk inside the carabao’s breast.

1. How do you achieve the mission and vision of this institution?

a. Actually we have the carabao development program composes of three main programs.
Genetic Improvement Program, Carabao based inteprise, development program.
Research and Development, so through GIP we intent to produce elite herd of buffalos.
Which will be eventually distributed to farmers, so this animals are genetically superior
producing a milk production.
2. So, those animal you have mention, was it modified?
a. Through breeding, so through the years since 1997, we implemented genetic
improvement program, so we do a lot of reading, culling, selection, then utilizing
superior sides, then we do performance testing. Top 5 performing bulls and heifers are
being brought to the semen laboratory for semen collection produce, whereas in the
female or spinks are being kept and breed to produce a superior crops.
3. So those animals that has been modified, what are the impact of it in our society?
a. Through the carabao base interprise development we disperse dairy animals, now at the
farmer level, they will milk those animals for additional income for the sale of the milk
and the community will be benefited through the milk feeding program, because we
have now and ongoing government program at the Republic Act 11037, otherwise
known as masustansyang pagkaing pinoy, so through the deped and dswd no, they have
the funding, they purchase milk from farmers, so locally produce, so here in the center,
we purchase the milk and distributed to the schooled children for the feeding program,
so the effect you can slowly eliminate the malnutrition problem.
4. About the institution, what is the process of manufacturing your products?
a. Ahhh.. you know we are following the value chain, so, from production the milk
collection, processing and marketing. So we are following the value chain. So its not only
that reproduce the animals that’s why we in place the machineries. So from production,
harvest of milk and then processing then marketing. That’s why we have the bukidnon
dairy. As our marketing arm.
5. With regards to your livelihood, which is you grew carabao to other farmers. So what kind of
livelihood it is?
a. That is Carabao Bases Enterprise and Development. So, we only intrust animals to
qualify farmers. So they should have satisfy, they have the land area, so we could never
list. So we could supplies those that cannot feed them or to manage them, so it is very
selective, only those farmers capable raising those animals.
6. So what are their benefits?
a. Income from the milk
7. With regards to the livelihood, how it relate to Science an Tech noloy?
a. Actually what we are doing now in pcc is science based, so all our management system ,
is science base and it keep on doing research to answer the problem or the carabao
agency. Real problem so, that is what happening in the farm. For example, no milk
production, so the problem is production, so as researchers tends towards fointhis
Solution , becuasue as much as prosible
