Math/Science/Discovery
The baseball game will help the students with addition and subtraction in a
fun way and the play money will also help with this but in a different form,
even if students know how to add and subtract they tend to forget once it
comes to money. The weather flashcards, eye droppers and food coloring
will be science. The flashcards will teach students about the different types
of weather and a picture that relates, the eye droppers and food coloring is
a simple science experiment the students can complete that shows them
when different colors are mixed together they become a new color. The
discovery items are the magnifying glasses, magnets and plastic insects.
The magnets will help students identify what in the room is magnetic, and
the students can use the magnifying glasses to look at the insects to find
details that specify the kind of insect it is.
Art/Music
The splash mats and aprons are to keep the floor and the students clothes
clean, the piano mat, egg shakers, and microphone are for the students to
practice their musical abilities while not being too loud, and the yarn is for
students to create bracelets, necklaces, or even create art on a piece of
paper with yarn and tape.
Dramatic Play
There are different costumes the children can dress up in and pretend to be
in that field of work, I also want to purchase cookware set and a grocery set
for the children to pretend to cook with and pretend shop for.
Motor Skills
There are a lot of little items I want to purchase to help with fine motor
skills. The hole punch is to learn grasping and squeezing, the beads and
the links are for putting small items together, the frogs, tongs and dice are
parts to a game to see who can place the most frogs on lily pads using the
tongs. The stencils are for tracing, and the play doh is for sensory practice.
