Pros and Cons of Power point and Prezi

The pros of Power point are it is very simple to use, the added steps to get the menu and the
buttons to be added in are the cons. I believe that it could be simple if the product already had a feature
where you just click the slide and you can see all aspects to the presentation. Prezi has this option where
you can switch back and forth while you are in presentation mode. This I believe is a pro to Prezi, but it
is difficult to create at first, there are less options in Prezi on how you control certain aspects but I do
believe it allows you to be more creative then Power point when it comes to moving around in the
presentation.

An educated article compared and contrasted Power point and Prezi and came to similar
conclusions as did I “…putting together a mediocre PowerPoint that gets the job done is a relatively easy
task. Putting together a Prezi presentation takes more effort, but the effort placed in planning and
designing the layout of that Prezi presentation is not lost, especially in the medical education setting
(Shaadi F Elswaifi, 2016).” The same article stated that some educators thought Prezi gave them vertigo
because of the way it moves from slide to slide. In the second educated source I found it concluded that
more presentations are given by teachers in just Power point then in Prezi. “We asked students who
many professors at lectures use presentations and 53 (84.1 %) students claimed that more than 75 % of
professors during lectures use the presentations but less than 10 % of them use Prezi presentation.
Across my researching I found at that Prezi use just one professor and his field is computer science
(ŠPERNJAK, 2014).” This author’s findings also remarked that students do not use Prezi mostly because
they do not know how, Power point usually handles all their presenting needs, and they are the most
familiar with Power point. Students also made negative comments about how it doesn’t allow you to
cover all the basic subjects in your article. I found this very interesting because I believe that you could
make it work if you need too in the current upgrade of the website.
