1. Motivation
Class look at the pictures. Make simple sentences based from the picture and afterwhich
combine the two sentences together.

2. Presenting the lesson using a short selection ( powerpoint presentation)

Answering several questions based from the selection like:


- Who are the characters of the story?
- Where did they go one day?
- What were they able to catch?
- Why did they have plenty of catch?
- As children at your age, how will you be able to help in the campaign against
pollution especially on water pollution?

3. Sentence analysis ( Sentences are taken from the selection – powerpoint


presentation)

4. Reinforcement Activity ( powerpoint presentation)


- Using and, but, or in sentences to make compound sentences(Group Activity)
- Making compound sentences based from a given picture

III. Evaluation

Directions: Form compound sentences from the given simple sentences using and, or, but.

1. School can be fun. It is exciting.


2. The science experiments need time and patience. They are interesting to perform.
3. In Physical Education we can learn many kinds of dances. We are also taught different
ballgames.
4. Our music teachers teach Filipino songs. Sometimes we learn foreign songs.
5. Mathematics is challenging. With more attention we can master problem solving.

IV. Assignment.

Read the paragraph. Underline the compound sentences in the paragraph.

The girl scouts of Bambang East Elementary School had a camping for three days. One night,
they told stories after supper. Then they went back to their tents to prepare their beddings for the night.
The school principal visited each tent and the campers were very happy for that. The next day, the girls
got up early and all of them jogged around the campsite. Their simple breakfast was serve afterwards butit
was nutritious. Next the girls prepared for the hike uphill and down the rainforest.. they had a wonderful
day.
