The Book Of John John 9:6-11

for educators
Having said these things, he spit on the ground and made mud with the saliva. Then He anointed
the man’s eyes and said to him, “Go wash in the pool of Siloam.” (which means Sent). So He went
and washed and came back seeing. The neighbors and those who had seen him before as a beggar
were saying, “Is this not the man who used to sit and beg?” Some said, “It is he.” Others said, “No,
but he is like him.” He kept saying, “I am the man.” So they said to him, “Then how were your eyes
opened?” He answered, “The man called Jesus made mud and anointed my eyes and said to me,
“Go to Siloam and wash.” So I went and washed and received my sight.

There’s a Word for that! Guard

7

This Scripture gives us a great visual. Do you see a guard standing right next to you protecting us
from the wrong things coming in and out of our mouth? We need this Guardian each day!

Psalm 141:3 – Set a guard O LORD, over my mouth; keep watch over the door of my lips!

Dear Heavenly Father,

You are our Guardian and Guide. You give counsel
and wisdom. Help us to read, listen, meditate,
memorize and pull out from our hearts, Your Word
when we need to communicate. Set a guard, O Lord,
Y

over our mouths and keep watch over the door of

our lips, because without Your conviction and
correction, we are on our own to speak. We know
that the heart is wicked and deceitful on its own and
A

we want only to be prayerfully dependent upon

You. Help us Lord during the school day to speak
Your way. We ask the True Guardian in the trusted
name of Jesus. Amen.

Meditation for the month

Psalm 118:24 – This is the day that the Lord has made; let us be glad and rejoice in it.
