2-4 Self-Assessments and Career Planning
Complete a self-assessment about your career interests and/or your personal traits. Start
with the O*Net Interest Profiler, a self-assessment tool, by visiting www.mynextmove.org
and clicking the “Start” button in the “Tell us what you like to do” box. There are other
assessments available on the web. Consider using the free online version of the mini
Myers-Briggs Type Indicator quiz and/or the Keirsey Temperament Sorter

List at least two things you discovered after taking a self-assessment.

I discovered that one of my higher traits was enterprising. Also, the self-assessments are
very accurate. I enjoy artistic and social things. Also, with the trait I have and
skills/education I will have, my goal/career is realistic.

Explain why your career choice is a good match with your personality and
interests.
I want to open my own business. I want my business to have something to do with art, so my
interests in art match that. Also, I like to lead and make decisions, so I think that will be good
when I am running my business.
