1. Identify at least two people in your career field. Ask your college career center

studying business administration and I am hoping to open my own business at some
point. ___ gave me your name and I was wondering if you had time to possible meet
with me to answer some questions, I have about owning your own business. Is there a
time that works best for you? In person, over the phone, skype call? Looking forward to
meeting with you! Thank you so much!

• Take the time to evaluate the process, from greeting the person to saying
good-bye. Think about what happened, what was different from what you
expected, what went well, and what you would do differently next time.
Be prepared to tell the class about your meeting or write a short summary of the
meeting. We will complete this in a discussion post later in the term.

Thank You Note:

Dear ____,

Thank you so much for meeting with me. I am so glad I got your perspective of owning a
business and it has been super helpful. Also, I really appreciate all the advice you have given me.
It has made me even more excited for the future and what it entails. I look forward to keeping in
contact with you and potentially meeting up again! Thank you again!

Sincerely,

Michelle Anton
