SITE CLEARANCE AND EARTHWORKS


(ALL PROVISIONAL)

Notes

i) The contractor shall seek approval from local authorities


on the proposed route to dispose access earth from site

ii) The Contractor shall be deemed to have examined the


drawings and visited to site so as to ascertain the nature,
character and extent of the following works and take into
consideration the existing conditions and to have satisfied
himself as to the nature of the top soil, the type of building
and structures, paths, roads, etc. to be demolished,
facilities for access, existing services and other site
conditions prior to tendering. No claim will be allowed on
the ground of ignorance of the condition under which the
following works will be executed

iii) The contractor shall exercise such care and attention as


required to ensure that clearing operation is confined
within area to be cleared

iv) The contractor shall be responsible and pay out at his


own cost for any remedial works required resulting from
any clearing not authorised by the S.O or clearing beyond
the area specified.

v) The rates for excavation shall include excavating in


whatever soil except rock hard material and unsuitable
material

vi) Excavation and filling to formation level and filling, etc. to


include for multiple handling

vii) The measurement of all excavation and subsequent filling


within site shall be those before excavation. All excavation
are measured nett. The increase in bulk after excavation
shall be allowed for in the Contractor's rates. Similar
principle applied to imported earthfilling where the
imported earthfill shall be measured nett

viii) The rates for the relevant items shall include payment for
royalties etc. as imposed by the Authorities

SITE CLEARANCE

a. Clear the whole site generally including cutting down all


trees irrespective of sizes, undergrowth, bushes, shrubs,
belukar, tall grass, etc. grubbing up roots, stump, picking
up rocks/small stone and dispose of and/or carting debris,
loose boulders, waste material, etc away from site and
including refilling all voids with selected materials L.S 10,000.00

SITE SURVEY

b. The Contractor is to allow or engaging a Licensed Land


Surveyor before commencing of the earthworks. The
survey drawing must be submitted to the Superintending
Officer for approval L.S 5,000.00

c. Allow for executing work outsite site boundary as required


including obtaining permission, liaison and coordination
with the Authorities as necessary including all protection
and paying all fess, charges. Etc Item 5,000.00

d. Allow for keeping all existing water drainage in proper


tlowan working order and maintainsame by diversion or
other means approved by the Local Authorities and to the
satisfaction of the S.O during the execution of the works Item 5,000.00

e. Allow for the protection and maintenance of all existing


service pipes, ducts, sewers, manholes, mains,
underground and overhead cables, street lights, etc.

f. Allow for engaging a Licensed Land Surveyor to make


level survey prior to and upon completion of earthworks
and the levels of the two sets of survey must correspond
with one another so that quantities for earthwork can be
verified and these drawings must be submitted to the
Superintending Officer for approval L.S 5,000.00

EARTHWORKS

g. Bulk excavation to finish ground level commencing from


existing ground level, transport fill and spread into fill area
within site to required level well consolidated and

TURFING

h. Close turfing with approved cow grass in turf size 225mm


x 225mm including trimming and compacting ground,
laying 50mm layer of vegetable soil and watering, rolling,

TEMPORARY WASH TROUGH

a. Allow for construction maintenance and removal when no


longer required temporary wash trough platform complete
with temporary stand pipe, water jet set, hose crusher run
road etc and all necessary excavation, formwork,

SEDIMENT TRAP

b. Allow for construction, maintenance and removal when no


longer required temporary sediment trap all as per
Engineer approval L.S 5,000.00

TEMPORARY EARTH DRAIN AND CULVERT

c. Allow for construction, maintenance and removal when no


longer required temporary earth drain culvert and check
dam all as per engineer approval L.S 5,000.00

d. Supply and erect metal hoarding 1.8m overall height


along the perimeter of the Site as designated by the S.O
complete with gates and necessary struts. Metal deck
sheet with minimum thickness Grade 30 shall be fixed to
timber frame (Group B) comprising 100mm x 50mm sawn
timber post at 3.0m centres, one end buried into 300mm x
300mm x 450mm concrete footing (Grade 15) with 3 Nos
horizontal 75mm x 50mm sawn timber rails. The rate shall
include painting of the project title on the hoarding at 2
locations to be decided by the S.O. The hoarding shall be
maintained throughout the duration of Contract period and
shall be removed upon completion. m 305 35.00 10,675.00
