Topic:

This paper discusses Medical marijuana (cannabis) health benefit for improving neurological

function and treating neurological disorders or diseases. This paper will explore, discuss and

analyze the neurology-related components of cannabis. This paper will discuss the reasons that

can be used for the use of medical marijuana and its health benefits, particularly for the brain.

Purpose/Introduction:

Scientific researchers have discovered that Marijuana (cannabis) plant has chemical

components called cannabinoids that interact with receptors of the Central Nervous System that

produce biological effects and can enhance neurological functions and can help treat a range of

brain-related diseases, symptoms and disorders.

This paper’s purpose is to identify the Medical Marijuana benefits that may be significant to

Neurological health. This paper will identify whether Marijuana has benefits towards neurological

function and treatment.

Discussion:

Marijuana (cannabis) is one of the most abused psychoactive, Eventually, marijuana gained

substantial recognition and acceptance among men. The human brain can naturally produce

endocannabinoids, a cannabis-like drug. As scientific data have shown, cannabis is an externally

administered drug that directly affects actions by influencing brain function (Konopka et al., 2014).

Sclerosis, arthritis, muscle cramps, over-weight, malignant tumor, inflammatory bowel illness

and neurological disorder such as epilepsy, alzheimer's disease, parkinson's disease, stress, trauma

and anxiety are related to the efficacy of cannabis to its medical significance. Legalizing and

increasing marijuana use lead to high exposure of all types of age groups, particularly in

adolescence. High dependency on this medication, can have brief and long effects of cannabis to

young or adult and chronic intense exposure. (Mandelbaum et al., 2017).

The adverse effects of cannabis provide clear proof that marijuana misuse can lead to brain

damage and cognitive impairment. In contrast, therapeutic benefits show that data support

cannabis use over conventional therapy is to restore the building and work of the System of Central

Nerve in diseases including epilepsy. However, further study is needed to determine medicinal

effects of cannabis for people with neurological or psychiatric illness (Mandelbaum et al., 2017).

Cannabis also includes active ingredients called 9-tetrahydrocanabinol (THC) and

cannabidiol (CBD) besides the chemical cannabinoids. Brain-related dysfunctions imcludes

Alzheimer's disease, sclerosis, and spasticitis usually as a consequence of neurodegeneration,

there is no specific therapy. The therapeutic treatment of cannabis in neurological disorders will

only modulate or reduce the pain sensation or excessive muscle tension of the patient (Kotula et

al., 2015).

The second most prevalent neurological condition in the US, Parkinson's disease (PD), It’s a

neurological dysfunction characterized by gradual degeneration of a particular cell group, the

nerve cell called intropin. Current medication is merely symptom and mainly involves the

substituting of intropin hormonal imbalance. This medication only enhances Parkinson's motor

symptoms associated with a variety of adverse reactions, like delayed movement. The possible

benefits of cannabis and linked compounds are treating either motor and non-motor signs and

sluggish development of the disease. Possible marijuana factor improves the quality of life of

Parkinson's patients. United States also pointed the beneficial role of cannabis in relieving

symptoms of nonmotor PD. One of the main elements of marijuana, cannabidiol (CBD) has been

shown to be involved in the treatment of PD patients with depression and sleep disorders

Marijuana can therefore provide alternative therapy for the disease of Parkinson. Parkinson's

disease was also listed as one of America’s states and cities criteria for legal and medical

marijuana use. In clinical research involving stress, inflammation and complications of motor

neurons associated with Parkinson's disease, cannabinoids have also been shown to be effective.

(Babayeva M. et al., 2016)

Cannabis associated with neurology has benefits that can help improve neurological function

and can be an alternative therapy because of the elements it contains for brain-related disorders

like epilepsy, stress, Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease and anxiety. Yet abusing it for non-

medical purposes may result in fatal dependence, cognitive impairment, chronic illness or brain

damage. Therefore, further research is still required.

Conclusion:

Lastly, this paper identified that Marijuana has benefits towards neurological function and

treatment.

Marijuana is one of the most abused psychoactive drugs, but eventually it gained substantial

acceptance among men where lot of nations and states made it legal for medical purposes. The

effectiveness of marijuana towards medical use are related to the wide treatment of illness

including neurological disorders like epilepsy, post-traumatic stress, anxiety, Alzheimer’s disease

and Parkinson’s disease. Therapeutic benefits show restoration of the central nerve system by

using cannabis over standard therapy for building and work in illness like epilepsy. The

therapeutic treatment of cannabis in neurological disorders will only modulate or reduce the pain

sensation or excessive muscle tension of the patient. Parkinson's disease was listed as one of the

conditions approved for medical marijuana, the marijuana beneficial effect is that one of its major

constituents is the alleviation of non-motor symptoms and the medication of psychotic disorder

and sleep disturbance with PD patients. Therefore, Marijuana may offer alternative therapies for

Neurological disorders, illnesses or improve neurological function and abuse of marijuana for

non-medicinal purposes must be prohibited as it may cause addiction, cognitive impairment,

chronic disease or brain damage that may be fatal to death.
