- Teacher Actions
o Ask students to arrange their desks so that they are all facing the front and able to see what to
do
o Hand out black paper to all students
o Ask students to put their names on the bottom right corner in a white or silver crayon
o Hand out sheets with 3 spheres on them
o Have an example of you doing this on the board for students to see: add highlight with pencil
lightly at first
o Tell students to grab pain of choice and paint brushes at the back of the classroom, tell them
as soon as they are done, paint needs to go back so it does not make a mess
o Use analogous colors to paint each ornament (or students can use whichever colors they want)
o Tell students to leave the highlight and paint around it for the “shine” effect
o Tell the students that while those dry, we will make the background
o Explain that we will use oil pastels to make the pine branches on our black construction paper
(show students an example on the board)
o Then we will use the green oil pastels to make pine branches. Explain to students that they can
use different shades of green for this if they would like
o By this point, the ornaments should be dry
Body o Ask students to cut out their circles and glue them on, leaving enough space to add the
ornament hangers.
(Activity #1) o Explain that we will use silver pastels for those
o Show students how to draw those onto their sheets
58 Minutes o Tell students they can use white pastels to add snow in the background if they would like!
o Project will then be complete!

everyone is on the same page and following along.
