INSIGHTS ABOUT LESSON DISCUSSED LAST SESSION.

1. COMMUNICATION MEANS TRANSFER OF UNDERSTANDING OR MEANING.

WHEN WE SAY COMMUNICATION, YOU TRANSFER WHAT YOU WANT TO SAY TO

OTHERS. THIS CAN BE CONSIDERED THE MOST ESSENTIAL PART IN AN

ORGANIZATION BECAUSE WITH COMMUNICATION WORKERS AND MANAGERS

WILL BE ABLE TO EXPRESS THEIR OPINIONS AND BE UNDERSTOOD BY THE

MANAGER AND VISE VERSA. IN AN ORGANIZATION WITH NO COMMUNICATION

FOR SURE THERE WILL BE MISUNDERSTANDING ALL THE TIME AMONG WORKERS

AND EMPLOYERS AND THIS WILL AFFECT THE CONDITION OF THE COMPANY.

LIKE FOR EXAMPLE IN A SCHOOL, IF THE PRINCIPAL DOESN’T TALK TO HIS

TEACHERS, VOICES OF TACHERS WLL NOT BE HEARD. MAYBE TEACHERS HAVE

PLEASANT IDEAS FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF THE SCHOOL BUT SINCE THE

PRINCIPAL DOESN’T WANT TO COMMUNICATE OPPORTUNITIES FOR A BETTER

SCHOOL MAY NOT HAPPEN.

2. OPEN COMMUNICATION MEANS YOU AS A MANAGER ALLOW YOUR WORKERS

TO SHARE THEIR IDEAS. I BELIEVE THIS IS BEST FOR THE ORGANIZATION. FOR AN

ORGANIZATION THIS WILL ALLOW WORKERS TO THINK DEEPER FOR BETTER

IDEAS THAT WILL HELP IMPROVE THE ORGANIZATION AND THEY WILL DO THIS

BECAUSE THEY ARE ALLOWED TO TALK AND THEY ARE SURE THAT THEIR IDEAS

WILL BE ACCEPTED BY THE MANAGERS.

3. COMMUNICATION BARRIERS. THERE ARE KINDS OF COMMMUNICATION

BARRIERS THAT AFFECT GOOD COMMUNICATION THESE ARE PERSONAL REASON,

PSYCHOLOGICAL DISTANCE, PHYSICAL BARRIERS, SEMANTIC ANF INFERENCE.

AMONG THESE BARRIERS I BELIEVE THE MOST COMMON IS PERSONAL.

SOMETIMES PERSON DON’T LISTEN BECAUSE OF EGO BECAUSE IT HURTS THEIR


EGO IF THE MESSAGE CAME FROM OTHERS. THIS IS A SAD REAITY HAPPEN MOST

OF THE TIME. LIKE FOR EXAMPLE IF THE MANAGER DOESN’T LIKE THE NEW

EMPLOYEE BECAUSE OF HER POTENTIAL HE NEVER LISTENED TO HIS OR HER

IDEAS ALL BECAUSE HE THOUGHT THAT HE IS AFTER HIS POSITION IN THE

COMPANY.

4. DOWNWARD COMMUNICATION MEANS FORM HIGHER TO LOWER LEVELS OF

AUTHORITY. THE MESSAGE FROM THE AUTHORITY WAS PASSED THRU ITS LEVEL

LIKE FOR EXAMPLE IN A SCHOOL THE MESSAGE OF THE PRINCIPAL WILL BE

PASSED TO DEPARTMENT CHAIRMAN THEN THE DEPARTMENT CHAIRMAN WILL

PASSED IT TO THE TEACHERS. IN A WAY THIS IS GOOD BECAUSE IT LESSEN THE

TIME FOR THE PRINCIPAL BECAUSE HE OR SHE WILL NOT HAVE TO TALK TO ALL

TEACHERS BUT UNFORTUNATELY IF TEACHERS HAVE QUESTIONS THERE WILL BE

A DELAY BEFORE THE PRINCIPAL RECEIVED THE SAID QUESTION.

5. THE BEST QUOTE FOR THIS IS “ PEOPLE LISTEN TO REPLY AND NOT TO

UNDERSTAND” THIS HAPPEN MOST THAT’S WHY THERE ARE FAILURE IN

COMMUNICATION BECAUSE PEOPLE TEND TO LISTEN TO REPLY WITHOUT EVEN

UNDERSTANDING THE MESSAGE FIRST. WE SHOULD LISTEN TO UNDERSTAND FOR

US TO KNOW WHAT REPLY WE ARE GOING TO GIVE.
