Science
1st Grade
1.4 The student will investigate and understand that
plants have basic life needs and functional parts and
can be classified according to certain characteristics.

During this learning activity students will be working
independently on their tablets. This can take place as
an entire class or in centers depending on the number
of devices the teacher has available in the classroom.
Each student will be making a web map with the
basic parts of the plants. Once the student has used
the APP to create the map they will be able to export
the PDF and print their map to turn in and keep for a
reference.

History
3rd Grade
3.3 The student will explain how the contributions of
ancient Greece and Rome have influenced the present
world in terms of architecture, government (direct and
representative democracy), and sports.
For this learning activity students will be using the
APP Padlet to create an organized chart. Within the
chart the students need to include all the ways Greece
and Rome influenced architecture, government, and
sports. It is up to the students how they choose to
organize the information. Within the APP students are
able to work collaboratively to brainstorm ideas
“shelf” project space. After the group is happy with all
of their information, they will make a second project
in the APP under the Q&A tab. Here the students will
have to each make 2 questions from the material after
each of the group’s members have created their two
questions, they will each answer two of their group
mates. This app allows for multiple devices to access
the same work and for all users to view the changes
each time they log on. These questions will then be
presented to the class as an end of unit review.
