Expression Module Reflection

1. Implementation of Feedback:
a. Based on the feedback given to me by Jessica Howard, I realized that I had to
first implement how I would be using the technology tested in this class to further
the learning of my students. I believe this was a great use of information because
it brought my entire philosophy to encapsulate my first semester at Arizona State
University. In Jessica’s feedback document, she told me that she liked the fact
that using a website I am able to go back and edit my philosophy as time went on
and that was the main reason behind my choice of medium. This website will be
what I go back and remind myself of why I got into the teaching field to begin with
anyways. Jessica gave me her feedback on the day that it was assigned and this
left me with multiple days to go back and address the issues she helped fix. Her
feedback really helped me come up with a philosophy website that I am really
proud of.
b. Based on Gracie Hull’s feedback, I was able to better design my website. Gracie
and I are close friends and she knows that I like a more minimalistic approach to
art and design. When I first showed her my website, she instantly thought that I
was just making a fun little website and messing around with the designs. She
told me that if I stuck to my personal design style, the whole website would be
more of me rather than just a project for class. This really resonated with me as I
was trying to figure out the layout of my website. This feedback from Gracie
helped me because it showed me that if I stay true to me it will have a better
outcome. This feedback was also given on the day that it was assigned, which
was very helpful to my process.
2. Learning Reflection:
a. I learned very minimal about the process of revision due to the fact that
throughout every step I had people helping me and showing me better ways to
do things. I was always asking how I could improve and what they recommend.
However, I feel as if this was not always working for me. If I were to go back and
re-do this whole project, I would use more of my own ideas for revision. I am very
proud of the outcome I achieved but I feel as if I listened to what other people
wanted more than my own opinions. I would leave my text and color scheme the
same, however, the pictures and format could be fixed more.
3. Alternative Use/ Future Directions:
a. I believe that using a website could be amazing for many different things. I could
start a personal blog or even start an online store. I have seen many people
close to me utilize a website builder for many different reasons. A website I would
be interested in making would be a personal blog. I tend to write long post
detailing my actions while at college to update my family and friends from home. I
could very easily start a blog and send the link to the people interested. This
would work very well and people would love the idea.
