Stages of Development

Reflection:

1. As I reflect on my early childhood, the developmental

tasks that I’m doing that time based on my parents’
stories, are that I started to walk before I turn one year
old, I also know how to talk already, I play and I’m
already trying to draw lines on our walls. While, when I’m
in my middle childhood I already know how to write and
read some words by syllables. I also learn how to wash the
dishes even I still need to climb to our sink and as I
remember those time, when I’m washing the dishes I always
talk to myself, not literally to myself because I always
imagine that I have a friend that is a dwarf and I talk to
him. I also played with my younger sister which is only a
year younger to me. I also sweep the floor sometimes. When
I’m in my late childhood, there I started to go to school
by myself, I’m already washing our clothes, and my mom
taught me to cook (just rice). And now, during my
adolescence period, there are many developmental task that
I have. Since at this time I’m obviously at my junior high
school, I learn to do some problem solving that I
encounter. I learn to make friends and even enemies, I do
feel also some infatuation and admiration. I do encounter
some challenges in school like hectic schedule of exams
and even cramming for the deadlines of projects. Then to
perform this tasks which I can’t do it all alone especially
during my childhood, my parents are the persons who taught
and supported me all the time. Also, my teachers have their
contribution on those things that I’ve done and achieved.
My friends also help me to perform such tasks since they
are the ones which I’m with when I’m not at home or in
school. They help me to explore and learn things.

2. As a future teacher someday, the things that I should do

to facilitate my students’ acquisition of these
developmental tasks are, to have first some background

knowledge about my students so that I will know if there

are some things that can hinder him/her to perform these
task properly (e.g. family problem). I should also know
the capacity of each student to do the task, if they are
slow in picking up the lesson, or if they have some
physical problem. I should also learn how to execute the
tasks properly to the students so that they can perform it
nice and well. In that ways I think I can help them to
acquire these developmental tasks that a person must have.
