A researcher wanted to investigate the impact of an intervention on non-compliance to maintenance

medicine. In this hypothetical study, Eight (8) participants were recruited to take part, consisting of 4
compliant and 4 non-compliant. All participants watched an emotive video showing the complications
from non-compliance of taking maintenance medicines. Two weeks after this video intervention, the
same participants were asked whether they remained compliant or non-compliant. Is there a significant
change in the participants’ point of view of compliance after the video intervention?

2. The data corresponded to an experiment in which systolic pressure is studied. Patients have been
followed at two different times. (Baseline and 1: 6 months follow up check-up) the variable to be
compared is the systolic blood pressure. The researcher found out that the distribution of data is non-
normal. Is there a significant progress in the patient in the pre-test after the intervention of follow up
check-ups?

3. The data correspond to an experiment where 4 new toothpaste formulas were each tested on diff
patients in order to measure their effect on the whiteness of teeth. The higher the score, the whiter
are the teeth. All patients have previously used the same toothpaste. Compare the whiteness
between groups. Note: data is non-normal
