THE PROBLEM AND ITS BACKGROUND

People deserve to live a happy life in the community. every family needs to be
engaged in the community as well as engaging ourselves with the issues of our society
makes us aware and open to the different theories regarding the roles and
relationships that contributes to it. awareness and being concerned to the community
are some of the characteristics that brgy, Sampaloc IV should have to be able to
understand what the things that most of the times are affecting their community that
they have now. of of the biggest problem in Brgy, Sampaloc Iv are the continuous
increasing of population. People in Brgy, Sampaloc IV should be aware of increasing
population in their Brgy and what are the possibilities that can cause/effect to the.
Every family in Brgy, Samplaoc IV deserve to know about family planning, how to
protect their families and how to limit the number of children in one family.

Family planning is gave us knowledge for the best of our family, but there's a
number of people and families not follow the family planning rules.in more previous
times, teenage marriages and pregnancies were normal because 16 or so was
considered the age of majority for females and therefore the responsibilities of child
birth and child care are brought upon them. in the Philippines, where women
traditionally had more power, below 18 years old most of teenagers have become
pregnant.

The population of Sampaloc IV grew from 12,868 in 1995 to 39,950 in 2019,

an increase of 27,082 people. The latest census figures in 2019 denote a positive
growth rate of 2.19 % or an increase of 4,295 people, from the previous population of
35,655 in 2018. Sampaloc IV is situated at approximately 14.3020,120.9731 in the
island of Luzon. Elevation at these coordinates is estimated at 149.3 meters or 489.8
feet above mean sea level.

SIGNIFICANCE OF STUDY

The researcher wants to know the impact of many children in one family and to give
information to others. Also the researcher wants to know the reason why some
Barangay`s increased the population.

DEFINITION OF TERMS

Aware -aware, cognizant, conscious, sensible, alive, awake mean having

knowledge of something.

Community - A community is a social unit (a group of living things) with

commonality such as norms, religion, values, customs, or identity. Communities may
share a sense of place situated in a given geographical area (e.g. a country, village,
town, or neighbourhood) or in virtual space through communication platforms.

Continious -having the property that the absolute value of the numerical
difference between the value at a given point and the value at any point in a
neighborhood of the given point can be made as close to zero as desired by choosing
the neighborhood small enough

Engage-to offer (something, such as one's life or word) as backing to a cause

or aim : to expose to risk for the attainment or support of some end engaged his all in
the king's cause.

Family – Is a group of people related either by consanguinity.

People – Human beings in general or considered collectively

CHAPTER II

REVIEW OF THE RELATED LITERATURE

A. LOCAL LITERATURE

According to Wow Cavite the City of Dasmariñas is a first class city in the
province of Cavite, Philippines. It is located approximately 30 kilometers south of
Manila. According to the 2007 census, it has a population of 556,330 people, making
it before the most populous municipality in the Philippines before it was converted
into a city. Dasmariñas is now the 11th largest city in the country in terms of
population. It has a land area of 90.1 square kilometers. Dasmariñas is part of Cavite’s
second congressional district. In 2010 Elections Dasmariñas will have its own
legislative district. PidiBarzaga is the city mayor. Dasmariñas is the wealthiest local
government unit in the province of Cavite according to the 2006 Commission on
Audit report. In addition, prior to its conversion into a city, Dasmariñas was the only
municipality in the Philippines that had both an SM and Robinsons Mall.

According Imgoph, among the six (6) cities and seventeen (17) municipalities
in Cavite, the city of Imus ranked third in terms of population according to the 2010
records of the National In 1903, the population of Imus was registered at
12,912. Over the fifteen year period between 1903 to 1918, the percentage of
increase was only 8%. Census records in 1939, 1948 and 1960 showed a two percent
increase per census year, from 209%, 31% and 33%, respectively. In 1970, the
percentage of increase was 38%, a 5% increase from 1960. In 1975, the percentage of
increase dropped to 11% and then rose to 21% by 1980. Figures in 1990 exhibited the
biggest increase of 102%. The level then decreased by 48% in 1995 and further fell
down by 10% in 2000 .The 2012 population of Imus posted at
328,940 is distributed to the 97 barangays of the city. Buhay Tubig had the
largest demographic count among the barangays with 25,212 persons. Pasong Buaya

According to World population review Manila is the capital and second-largest

city of the Philippines and one of the 16 cities that comprise Metro Manila, which has
an overall population of 12.8 million per the 2015 Census. The city of Manila has a
population of 1.78 million in 2016, according to census data. Manila is the world's
most densely populated city with 42,857 people per square kilometer, or 111,002
people per square mile. This is all contained within an area of 42.88 square kilometers
(16.56 square miles).

The Metro Manila population is estimated at 12 million but the larger urban
area has a population estimated at 21.3 million. The Metro Manila population swells
during the daytime, however, to about 15 million. This density is much higher than
that of Mumbai (23,000 people/sq km), Paris(20,150 people/sq km), and Tokyo
(10,100 people/sq km).

B. FOREIGN LITERATURE

According to World population review the population of China fluctuated

between 30 million and 86 million during the Han dynasty. After the collapse of the
Han Dynasty, the population stayed around 50 million until the advent of the Tang
Dynasty.Under the Tang Dynasty, the population increased from 45 million to 80
million over the course of 200 years. the beginning of the Song Dynasty, the
population stood at over 100 million. After Ming and earlier period of Qing dynasty
founded population moved around 100 million to 150 million until the 1700 In the
period between 1749 and 1851, the population doubled in a century.During 1960-
2015, the population grew to nearly 1.4 billion. Under Mao Zedong, China nearly
doubled in population from 540 million in 1949 to 969 million in 1979. This growth
slowed because of the one-child policy instituted in 1979. According to World
population review, the United Kingdom's 2019 population is 66.96 million according
to the most recent UN estimates. Each year in June, the Office for National Statistics
releases an updated estimate based on migration and fertility statistics. The last full
UK census was carried out in 2011, showing a population of 63,181,775, up from

2001’s census figure of 58,789,194. The UK is the world’s 21st largest country by
population. The United Kingdom is currently growing at a rate of .61% per year.

The United Kingdom includes four nations, England, Wales, Scotland, and
Northern Ireland. Each nation has their own major cities that contribute to the
population and demographics of the United Kingdom. London is the capital of the
country, with 7,556,900 living within its boundaries. Glasgow in Scotland has a
population of 591,620 in 2001 and 2010. According to the US Census
Bureau's population clock, the estimated 2018 United Statespopulation (February
2018) is 327.16 million. This is a bit higher than the 329.09 million estimated by the
United Nations. By population, the United State of America is the third largest
country in the world, falling far behind China (1.4 billion) and India (1.25 billion).
Its most populous states are California (39.5 million) and Texas (27 million), and its
most populous city is New York City (8.5 million).

The largest state in the USA by population is California, which is estimated to

be home to just over 39.5 million people. If California was a country, it would be the
36th most populous in the world, slightly larger than Iraq and Poland. Its economy
would be the eighth largest in the world, with roughly the same GDP as Italy, a
European country of 61 million people. Interestingly, although California is the
largest state in the United States of America, it isn't the largest state in the Americas -
that honor goes to Brazil's state of Sao Paulo with over 45 million residents.The
largest city in the USA is New York City. The city's population is estimated at an
impressive 8.5 million, which makes New York City larger than the second and third
most populous cities in the United States (Los Angeles and Chicago) combined.By
1930, New York City was the largest city in the world, holding the title until 1980
when three worldwide cities surpassed its numbers. The stunning growth of cities
elsewhere in the world means that today, New York is not even in the top 20, when
ranking by city proper. It is, however, the world's second largest city by GDP -
its nominal GDP of $1.55 trillion puts it second only to the Japanese city of Tokyo.

CHAPTER III

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

This chapter construct different research procedure. The researchers

prudently studied what methods, procedures, and techniques to be used in conducting
an effective study. The researchers gathered information and data based on the
perception of respondent. This part comprises the research environment, research
design.

RESEARCH ENVIRONMENT

The research study focused on Barangay Sampaloc IV, Dasmarinas City

Cavite. The Researchers believed to gather enough information related to the research
study.

RESEARCH DESIGN

The research study was conducted using the descriptive methods because the
study was intended to investigate The Reasons of Population Growth in Barangay
Sampaloc IV Dasmarinas City, Cavite. The study took the Qualitative approach
because it was based on interview facts through words and own perspective of various
students.

SOURCE OF DATA

The sources of data are the respondents of this research who were at least 10
respondents from Barangay Sampaloc IV Dasmarinas City, Cavite for the survey. The
issue the study and herein respondent were particularly chosen since the researchers
believes that the sample are adequate for the proper analysis of the problem.

DATA GATHERING

The instrument used in gathering data was the survey questionnaire

appropriately distributed in Brgy. Sampaloc IV, Dasmariñas City, Cavite. There are
One hundred (100) prepared survey questionnaires that are personally questioned in
the said areas.

VALIDATION OF THE INSTRUMENT

The validity of the questionnaire was obtained by presenting it to at least One

hundred (100) respondents. After the approval of the prepared interview
questionnaire, the researcher hurriedly validated and articulated the interview
questionnaire which is intended to gather data relating to the investigation of the
study.

DATA COLLECTION

The data were collected during the months of August and September 2019. An
introductory letter was given to the principal to the school to be signed for the
permission to go out to conduct interviews. The researchers personally examined the
formulated interview questionnaires to the selected residents of Brgy. SampalocIV
,Dasmariñas City, Cavite. After the analysis of the interview questionnaires to the
respondents, the results were assembled together and a conclusion which is the
product of the discussion is as follows.

SAMPLING PROCEDURE

The technique used by the researcher in data collection was at random. This
procedure gives equal chance to the selected respondents to answer questions relating
to interview questionnaires stated in Chapter 1.

CONSTRUCTION OF INSTRUMENT

The Researchers used some statements of the problems they accurately considered
that are most significant to discuss. The configuration of the questions to be used in
the interview questionnaires focused on answering sub - problems specified in
Chapter 1 and the questions were constructed in English language.

CHAPTER V

SUMMARY, CONCLUSION, and RECOMMENDATIONS

This chapter includes a Summary, Conclusion and Recommendations of the

study. This research sought to know The Reason of Population Growth in Brgy.
.Sampaloc IV. It also determined the demographic profile such as name (Optional),
Age, and Sex of the respondents.

Specifically this study sought to answer the following;

1. What is the demographic profile of the respondents in terms of:

1.1 Name (Optional)
1.2 Age
1.3 Sex

2. What are the reasons why Barangay Sampaloc IV continues to increase their

population?

3. Why do we need to know the importance of growing population?

This study used a descriptive qualitative research designed to determine

The Reason of Population Growth in Brgy .Sampaloc IV. There were 10
respondents as the formulated number of samples who participated in the study.

FINDINGS

1. The demographic profile of the respondents are Name (optional) Age, Sex
56(56%) of the respondents are female and 44 (44%) are male. while 34(34%)
of respondents are in the age of 15-19 years old and 31 (31%) are in the age of
20-30 years old while 35 (35%) of the respondents are in the age of 31-50
years old.
2. The reasons of growing population in Brgy. Sampaloc IV are poverty 53
respondents are strongly agree that poverty is one of the prime reasons of

growing population in their Barangay and 35 respondents said agree and 11

(11%) are neutral , 1 (%) respondents disagree and 0 (0%) are strongly
disagree. Another is the Early pregnancy base on our survey 31(31%) of the
respondents are strongly agree that they are committed in pre -marital sex
while 43(43%) said agree and (15%)are neutral while 8 (8%) of the respondent
disagree and 3(3%) are strongly disagree. and also people in Barangay are lack
of knowledge about family planning and also their barangay are lack of
technological advancement in fertility treatment , 26 (26%) of the respondents
are strongly agree that their Barangay are lack of fertility treatment and 59
(59%) agree and 11 (11%) are neutral while 3(3%) of the respondents disagree
and 1 (1%) are strongly disagree.
3. We need to know the importance of growing population for us to be aware of
causes / effects to our community 67 (67%) of the respondents are strongly
agree that they need to be aware of the causes and effect of so much growing
population in their barangay. 21 (21%) are agree and 9(9%) are neutral while 2
(2%0of the respondents said disagree and 1% are strongly disagree ..Another
is it will help us to know the potential solution to lessen the population rate.
65(65%) of the respondents are strongly agree that it will help us to know the
possible solution to lessen the continuous increasing population rate and 24%
are agree while 9 (9%) of the respondents are neutral and 1 (1%) are disagree
and 1% are strongly disagree.

CONCLUSIONS

1. The researchers concluded that the profile of the respondents presents during
the interview are as follows: 15-50 years old, male and female, people who
lives in Barangay Sampaloc IV.
2. Based on the information gathered, the reason of population growth in Brgy.
Sampaloc IV are poverty out of 100 respondents,53(53%) are strongly
agreeand 35(3%) are agree, another is early pregnancy Brgy. Sampaloc IV

increased their Pre-Marital sex, and also people in their pregnancy are lack of
knowledge about family planning
3. The researchers conclude that the Brgy. Sampaloc IV increased their pre-
marital sex due to aggressive in love and lack of guidance of their parents.

RECOMMENDATIONS

The researchers conducted a program entitled “The Reason of Population

Growth “. The objectives of this research are to inform the people of Brgy. Sampaloc
IV on the reason of population growth in their barangay and to give more information
about so much growing population and how to organize their Barangay. We will
recommend to have a meeting/Seminars to help the community in a proper way of
family planning for they be able to reduce/eliminate the continuing increase of
population rapidly the seminar will be held by the barangay officials and DOH
officials .we also recommended to have a technological advancement in fertility
treatment such as implant for every mother and giving free contraceptives in every
teenager 18years old above and also to the married couples/live in partner.under this
contraceptive is condom ,injection and fertility pills who can help them to reduce the
population their Barangay Sampaloc IV we conduct a seminar on how to use it right
to know the possible result. Everyone who wants to enter a family life should know
the importance of family planning to have a happy family.
