Business Case

Executive Summary

The Purple Cat Events is a gig organizer that caters grassroots artist and help

these artists to mature with the help of the clients and sponsors. The Purple Cat

Events uses a Facebook page to post or to update their clients, bands and sponsors

about the event and use a Messenger to get the clients' event requirements, to check the

information about the band and notify them if ever there will be an upcoming event and

to find a sponsor to that event or the sponsor will inform the organizer that they want to

be a sponsor. The Purple Cat Events is in a good working condition in terms of operating

efficiency through manual operation.

Business Problem

The Purple Cat Event uses the Facebook page as a platform for their clients, bands

and sponsors to connect and provide information. All the transaction given by the clients

will be recorded in Microsoft Excel manually that act as its database, resulting in

duplication of data. Purple Cat Event uses a Facebook page which renders them

outdated because some of the competitors are now using a website and using Facebook

as a link and not as a main site. The founder Ms. Jeanne España, seeks a booking system

to optimize data processing and update the existing system to a web page so that more

clients can be catered for.

Business Opportunity

Web Based Client Booking System for Purple Cat Event will help the organizer to

operate and easily generate all the transaction between the clients, bands and sponsors

to avoid redundancy of data. With the help of this proposed system, the PCE can give

more opportunity to cater more clients, bands and sponsors in the future and also an

opportunity to the proponents and the stakeholders to learn and gain knowledge upon the

development of the new system.

Figure H.1 shows a Fishbone Diagram showing problems on existing system

As illustrated on Figure H.1, the problems being encountered of the existing

system are experiencing lack of IT personnel and/or lack of proper training for the users

that is why clients, bands and sponsors information are recorded manually, unorganized

documentation which causes to the delay of updating the records and/or redundancy of

data.
