Another focus was sharing our reading and thinking with others. Here are some of our daily reading targets for reading. - Readers can read the text by connecting what is Upcoming Events repeated in the pictures and words using the word THEN… - Parent teacher conferences are on 10/22 and - Readers can make plans for their time together by taking turns talking and reading. 10/24 - Readers can choose what to talk about; acting out the - Wear ORANGE on 10/23 to take a stand and characters or teaching informational text. - Readers use familiar parts and words they know to help stand up against bullying others read on. - The book fair will be open 10/21-10/25 - 10/31 is an early release day. Study it (What do you notice? Uppercase, lower case, vowels, consonants, number of letters.) 3. Spell it (Cheer the letters out loud.) Upcoming Events 4. Write it (Use your finger to write it in the sky.) 5. Use it (Ask your child to write the word on a sticky note, label something in your home, or draw a Halloween picture). Our party will begin at 10:00a.m. Families are Writer’s Workshop welcome to attend. Sign in at the office and meet We began our third unit, “Label and List”. In this unit, students will in the classroom. After the party, we will be having collect, observe, and study bits of their world. Some examples are: leaves, shells, buttons, etc. As a scientist, we can make a pizza lunch in the classroom. Please send in meaningful observations by looking, touching, listening, and looking again. We can sketch our observations and add labels to our $1.50 for your child by 10/24/19. We will change drawings. We can draw and label exactly what we see. This will into our costumes after eating. The parade will help teach others about what we have observed and learned.

We finished up Unit 1 and started working on Unit 2. In this unit we will be focusing on numbers 6-10 using 5 groups. Ask your child to show you the number 6 on his/her fingers (5 and 1), 7 (5 and 2) and so on. Have your child build numbers 6-10 using cheerios, legos or any other small items you have at home.
