Apple has also incorporated corporate social responsibility (CSR) in its policies and plans to

effectively meet stakeholder’s needs and desires. CSR affects the safety and security of the

company in relation to the society and environment in its business strategy. In doing so, it can

support organizations to develop effective social as well as environmental benefits plans.

The corporate social responsibility includes factors like risk management, protection of brand

assets, improvement of reputation, legal licensing, effective use of resources, compliance with

government regulations. As such, it also includes maintaining relationships with investors,

business partners, and host country employees. It also helps to seize new opportunities and adopt

innovative technologies. This CSR helps Apple Inc. increase its reputation among customers and

stakeholders, which is good for their long-term growth. Apple also faces problems in fulfilling its

responsibility for corporate social responsibility, which are related to maintaining human and

labor rights in its relationships with suppliers. Stakeholders' lack of participation in strategy

development affects their relationship with Apple and its suppliers. Therefore, Apple did not

adopt the concept of triple bottom line thinking. As a result, Apple no longer focuses on the

concept of sustainability, which can be achieved by using a holistic approach rather than an

outdated approach. Apple also lacks information for customers. It does not include supplier

names, sustainability reports and supply chains.

Apple's co-founder and CEO Steve Jobs was the first person to hold Apple accountable through

the concept of a "direct owner" (DRI). This model is a good example of how a company can

promote accountability between teams and organizational hierarchies. Let's take a look at the
accountability that Apple's DRI teaches us. At the beginning of any project, Apple actually

assigns a DRI at every meeting. This person is responsible for tracking progress, delegating

tasks, and ensuring quality results. Apple's accountability solution is seamlessly integrated into

the entire organization almost free of charge, solving key management challenges without micro-

management or tedious process changes. In fact, the DRI model has been adopted by other

companies such as Tettra and Flipboard to enhance workplace responsibility. The key takeaway

is that accountability techniques must be applied at each level of the hierarchy to speed decision

making, avoid duplication of work, resolve issues faster, and simplify communication.
