Concrete Pan Mixer

Introduction

The Concrete Mixer is used for mixing small quantities of Concrete

used in the preparation of concrete cubes for testing in Laboratory.

The purpose of the mixer is to smear mechanically the aggregate

surface with cement paste uniformly & produce a mix of uniform

consistency. This in turn will give consistent quality of Cube

specimens when casted in molds.

Description

The equipment is illustrated in the GA Drawing and important parts

for Operating the Machine have been identified with Nos. and cross

reference

SETTING UP & OPERATION

The Concrete Mixer is transportable on wheels & the design of

mixing paddles ensures uniform & efficient mixing of Cement &

Aggregate both in dry & wet conditions. The design also facilitates

tilting of mixing drum with the help of steering wheel.

The arrangement helps the operator to access the pan contents

conveniently & emptying the mixture after completion of the

operation.

The drum is driven through a Heavy Duty Gear Box & positive

rotating motion of the Drum is ensured by unique design of the

ribbed base. The lid with Mixing paddles lifts clear off the top of the

Drum to provide maximum access to the Operator.

Concrete Mixer Capacity : 60 Ltrs(Appx).

Setting Up and Operation

Concrete Mixer is wheel mounted mixing machine. It does not

require foundation and if desired it can be moved with the help of

the pulling handle. The equipment can be parked on a levelled

ground and anchored by the fixed legs provided. The equipment in

such a position will remain stable while it is in operation.

To operate the machine, follow the steps as under:

1. Connect the Concrete Mixer to a stabilized 3 Phase 415V

50Cycles, AC supply.

2. Note: After 3 phase supply is connected to the D.O.L. Starter

Switch on the Machine. Observe the direction of rotation of the

Drum. If the Drum rotates in the reverse direction, inter

change any of the 2 phases in the D.O.L. Starter.

3. Lift the protective cover with the help of the Lifting Handle

4. Pour right quantity ( max. 40ltrs / Approx 100kg) of the

material to be mixed in the mixing Drum. Set the adjustable

arm with the help of adjusting holes & splite pin according to

the size of aggregate.

5. Close the Protective Cover.

6. Start the machine by pressing the Green Button of D.O.L.

Starter.

7. Observe the mixing operation through the mesh opening on

the protective cover. Rotate the lever for moving arm until the

moving arm touch the inside surface of the drum to clean the

mixing material from inside surface of the drum.

8. Once the mixing is complete, switch off the machine by

pressing the Red Button of D.O.L. Starter.

9. Lift the protective cover, tilt the Drum and empty the mixed

Concrete at the location.

10. Clean the Drum thoroughly if no more mixing needs to be

done.

11. Always keep the equipment clean of Cement dust & mixture to

avoid parts getting rusted / wear out when the equipment is

not in use.
