Why is a protozoan considered animal like?

Historically, the protozoa were regarded as "one-

celled animals", because they often possess animal-like behaviors, such as motility and
predation, and lack a cell wall, as found in plants and many algae.

Examples of Protozoa
 Amoeba:
 Euglena:
 Paramecium: This is a slipper-shaped protozoan. ...
 Entamoeba histolytica: This is an amoeba which infects large intestine and other
tissues. ...
 Leishmania: Leishmania is of two kinds as Leishmania donovani and Leishmania
tropica. ...
 Plasmodium: Commonly known as a malarial protozoan parasite.
 Why are protozoa called early animals?
 Protozoans are regarded as early or primitive animals because they exhibit a
cellular level of organization, they live as parasites and move with the help of
flagella or cilia, and they are microscopic and exhibit a primitive mode of
reproduction (fission, budding or conjugation).O
Flatworm, also called platyhelminth, any of the phylum Platyhelminthes, a
group of soft-bodied, usually much flattened invertebrates. A number of
flatworm species are free-living, but about 80 percent of all flatworms are
parasitic—i.e., living on or in another organism and securing nourishment from
it.
Most freshwater flatworms are free-living and can be found in ponds, lakes,
streams, ditches, and temporary puddles.
 They live under rocks, plants, and debris to avoid direct sunlight.
 They can be found on hard and soft substrates, but are more common on the hard
surfaces.
Not only are they an invasive species that can cause real environmental damage, but they also
are known to carry a parasite called rat lungworm that can cause a form of meningitis
in humans. Besides that, this flatworm produces toxic secretions that may trigger an allergic
reaction in some people.

Arthropods are invertebrates with jointed legs. They make up about 75% of all
animals on Earth and have a major role in maintaining ecosystems as
pollinators, recyclers of nutrients, scavengers and food for other animals.
They include many animals we come across in our gardens, such as spiders,
ants, centipedes and slaters

and some other arthropods
Arthropods are divided into four major groups:
 insects;
 myriapods (including centipedes and millipedes);
 arachnids (including spiders, mites and scorpions);
 crustaceans (including slaters, prawn and crabs).
 Do all arthropods antennae?
 Crustaceans are the only arthropods that have two pairs of antennae. ...
Insects are arthropods that have three body segments, three pairs of legs, one
pair of antennae, and many have one or two pairs of wings. The three body
sections are called the head, the thorax, and the abdomen.
What are the chewing mouthparts of
arthropods called? Mandibulate
