Procedures

I. Preparation of the Materials

Wood planks were prepared for the construction of the vertical garden. A

measure of one-meter-long of wood planks was used as a frame of the setup.

Six, thirty-five and a half inches of PVC pipes with a diameter of four inches were

attached to the wood planks. There were also ten garden pots prepared for the

mongo seeds. Each pot has a height of three and a half inches and a width of

four inches. A sack of garden soil was bought for the experimentation. Ten N42

neodymium disc-shaped magnets were also prepared for the experimental

setup.

II. Preparation of the Garden Setup

The PVC pipes were drilled with holes which will be utilized to hold the

garden pots. There were five holes in each PVC pipe. Each hole has a width of

three and a half inches and a length of four inches. The pots were then filled

with garden soil that is best suited for growing plants since it helps plants grow

better and healthier. Each pot was filled with equal amount of garden soil. There

were two setups in the experiment. Setup 1 contained the mung beans exposed

to magnetism and Setup 2 contained the mung beans that are not exposed to

magnetism.

III. Preparation of the Mung Beans

A total of fifty mongo seeds was prepared for germination. There were two

setups, setups one (experimental) and two (controlled). There were twenty-five

seeds planted for each setup. Five seed occupied one pot for its germination

stage. In setup one, one magnet was placed in every pot.

IV. Germination

A total of nine days was allocated for the germination of the mongo seeds. The

pots were checked on a regular basis to check for any developments and data

were gathered on the ninth day of germination.

V. Mongo Seedling Transplant

After nine days of germination, twenty healthy mongo seedlings were

transplanted, ten seedlings per setup were chosen. One seedling was

transplanted for each pot. The experimental setup still has the magnet on it as

part of the experimentation. Three weeks were allotted to observe the growth

of the mongo plant.

VI. Gathering of Data

The leaf length, number of leaves and the height of the mung beans were

recorded weekly. After the 4-week experimentation period, the final results

were gathered.
