Home Renovation Project

This is the Wright Family house, as they go on in life their family continues to grow, and
they are looking for more space. The wright family wants to stay in the original house,
just add on to it. This is where I come into play. The wright family requirement for the
renovated house was:

First Floor
 Double Garage 22’x22’ - Located to come in near the kitchen
 Mud Room
 Space to hang coats and bookbags in the back entrance
 Larger more functional kitchen - Located still in the back of the house
 Island in kitchen for casual eating
 Outdoor living space with small kitchen/grill/eating table/seating/fireplace
 One - Dining space for 8 to 10 People
 Family room with sofa/two chairs/TV, fireplace
 Master Bedroom downstairs with En-Suite and his and her/closet
 Front porch 7’ deep

Also, with 2 kids that are growing up and they have a 3rd baby on the way, they really
need room upstairs for the kids to play and grow up. This was the requirements:

Second Floor
 Three children bedrooms and two or three baths/closets for each room
 Bonus room for children/seating/TV/desk/table
 Laundry room with sink and storage

Even though the Wrights were renovating the house, they wanted to keep the general
shape of home, interior wise. The Wright’s didn't want to move the staircase, keep the
original walls inside to support the house. The front door could not be moved.

Here is what I came up with for the Wright family’s house renovation. Starting with the
1st floor, a 22’ x 22’ garage was added to the side of the house, so that you go through
a mud room into the kitchen. The half bath downstairs will be made a little bigger, and
then the kitchen, dining room and living room will all be opened. The living room is
bigger, that is a 16’ x 18’. The master is now a 15’ x 16’ and the master bath is a 10’ x
10. Now going to the 2nd Floor, once you come up the stairs, you turn to your right, and
right there will be one of the kid’s bedrooms with a full bath and walk in closet. Then the
laundry room is added, with a lot of storage. Next on the backside of the house you will
have a Jack & Jill bathroom with 2 more bedrooms on each side of it for the other kids’
bedrooms. For a social zone, you will have a half bath on the second floor and with the
bonus room, so it's very convenient for the people that will be in the bonus room. This
was my idea that I would think the Wright family would love.
