Mu-Ed Man
An interactive snowman that allows you to have a
(snow)ball while making fun winter tunes! Frosty sure is a
wonderful friend and loves it when you wish him a
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" Be sure to tweet a picture of you and

More about Frosty!
Technologies Used:
-Makey-Makey - I used the Makey-Makey in this project as the foundation to make
everything work. The Makey-Makey is the device that makes things easily used by
other people after coding it correctly.
-Scratch - To code my sounds I chose to use scratch. Scratch allowed me to use many
different sounds and even create some of my own to get exactly what I wanted. It also
is what is used to code the Makey-Makey so that everything works correctly.
-Twitter - I am the type of person that enjoys feedback on my work! I am going to have
a sign that asks users to take a picture and tweet their experience and what they
learned using #frostythemuedman to create something fun and to make users tie it
into something they use every day.
Learning Goal:
-MU:Cr1.1.T.IIIa Generate melodic, rhythmic, and harmonic ideas for compositions and
improvisations that incorporate digital tools, resources, and systems. If you are editing
the language, follow this format: Your edited goal (paste the standard number, such as
MU:Pr6.1.T.Ib).
Assessment:
-As stated above, I will be using Twitter to asses this adaptive instrument. On one side
of the instrument will be a sign that asks the users to take a fun picture and tweet it
using #frostythemuedman with something they learned. On the sign will be a few
questions to get the users thinking about how they can be in the mindset to learn
rather than just play with this fun creation!
Project Overview and Rationale:
-When thinking about what I could do for this I immediately thought about what would
help me out with something that I sometimes struggle with as a musician. It wasn’t
long after I began to think that I knew exactly what it was. I always tend to have a hard
time realizing it is perfectly alright to make music in a stress free and fun environment.
I also wanted to teach myself that playing around to make music wasn’t as hard as I
thought. I chose to make a fun thing that was eye appealing and interesting to relax
students/users when they use it. I want them to take the time to play around, try new
things, and take risks to make the music that they find best suits them. Through this
project I learned that music making is all about what you see best expresses you and I
want the users to have the same experience that I did while making this.
