What standards or LOs were being addressed in the lesson?
Students will be able to know to classify animal to Mammals and Birds

How did you cater for learners with special needs, and for differentiation?
The emergent level: Ahmad will take two cup and one envelop, he will open the envelop and will Sort the
pictures for two type of animal mammals and birds.
The developing level: Amal will take one poster A3 and one envelope, she will open the envelope and will
sort the pictures for two types of animal mammals and birds by using glue to stick the pictures and words.
The master level: In this group they will do in independent, I have Venn diagram of two kind of animals,
the student will write 2 types of animals and with their qualities. student today also he/she will use glue to
stick the pictures.

How did you use positive reinforcement? Methods? For what?


I was praising by saying very good, excellent for the students who were answering correctly for the
question and give them a positive point on the class dojo, so this way helps to encourage the students to
participate and raise their hand to answer.

How did you sequence or scaffold activities so that they built gradually towards the learning objectives?
at the beginning of the lesson, I told the students to set in the carpet and I set with them. I started the
lesson by guessing what inside the eggs.? I use Class Dojo to pick some student and come to the front and
wear the gloves and try to enter her/ his hands in the egg and guess what inside. All the student
responded good to me and they want to try it. I made a KWL chart after that I gave them different activity
for 3 levels. Finally, I did a formative assessment exit ticket.

Overall aim and context of the lesson (that is, describe the lesson’s place in the unit of work. What did
students need to know before today’s LOs were addressed? What topic comes next and how did today’s
lesson prepare students for that?)

The unite was about all kind of animals. The students need to know to classify animal to Mammals and
Birds. This lesson will prepare the students to learn what is different between Mammals and Birds
animals.

Who is the lesson for?
This lesson for grade one and up because includes about know all kind of animals.

Where did the lesson take place?


The lesson was in the classroom of grade 1A in the Ahmad bin Zayed school on Zkhir .

What were you aiming to achieve in your lesson?


I was trying to teach all kind of animal but only two types of mammals and birds, so I was trying to teach
the students the difference between mammals and birds with their qualities.
What experiences did you provide to the students to help them to achieve your aims for them?
I let the students organize the picture and with qualities of two types of animal’s mammals and birds in
schedule

Were students excited, always occupied, and remained on task during the lesson?
Yes, all the students were engaged while they are working on their activities and try to make different
between mammals and birds.
Why do you think the students responded the way that they did?
all the students responded to all my questions and they did well in all activity because they know the
difference between the mammals and birds.
How well did your teaching relate to the students’ prior understanding?
I activate the student’s prior knowledge by showing the students pictures of animals and they say names
of animals as what they learned in KG2.

The nature of the experience from the students' perspective is they enjoy doing this activity they think like
the game. I put every activity manipulative, so the students will understand more. I did my goal in this
lesson all students understand how to know the difference between the mammals and birds. Also, I put
near the door exits ticket. When the student leaves the class, they will put the exits ticket in the box and
take a paper. Additionally, I make the checklist walk around and ask them questions to see if they
understand the activity and give him some advice to make better next time.

How might you enhance student learning of this lesson in the future?
What are the implications for your professional practice of helping students to enhance their learning in
this particular way? (i.e. what skill will you have to develop or learn? What professional development will
you have to undertake?)
I can enhance student learning of this lesson in the future, I will take more in talk more in English (a whole
sentence in English and two or three words in Arabic only because I notice the student want to my talk on
Arabic. Also, I will apply some individual activities for students because they like to work individually at this
age. At the beginning of the lesson, I will use bigger pictures of activities’ modelling because I want to
explain to the whole class. finally, I will not keep students on the carpet for more than 15 minutes to not
get bored and misbehave in my lesson.
