A NARRATIVE AND PICTORIAL REPORT

ON THE CONDUCT OF 2019 SCHOOL SYMPOSIUM
ON FIRE SAFETY AND PREVENTION
March 14, 2019

I.INTRODUCTION

Fire strikes anytime anywhere. So, fire safety and prevention is very important. .
Awareness is the key to lesson and minimize the number of fire destruction and deaths.
Halayhayin Elementary School conducted orientation and meetings every month of
March and also to celebrate the Fire Prevention.

I.OBJECTIVES

The objectives are as follows:

a. To know how to reduce fire risks, deal with fires if appropriate, escape
safely in the event of fire and
b. To evaluate the readiness and awareness of the learners and DepEd
personnel on fire safety and prevention.

III.HIGHLIGHTS OF ACCOMPLISHMENT

Relative to 2019 Fire Prevention Month Theme: “Ligtas na Pilipinas Ating Kamtin,
Bawat Pamilya ay Sanayin, Kalaaman sa Sunog ay Palawakin.”,. Halayhayin Elementary
School conducted the “2019 School Symposium on Fire Safety and Prevention” on
March 14, 2019 at exactly 9:00 o’clock in the morning.
Before the day the conduct of the symposium / orientation regarding fire
prevention, the School Watching Team together with the Supreme PupiL Government
and DRRM Coordinator, secure the area of the said program.

The symposium was headed by the team of the Bureau of Fire Prevention Pililla.
The discussion is all about the possible causes of fire, how can a school and pupil to
prevent fire and also the safety precautions before, during and after a fire. The focus and
highlights of the symposium was the actual demonstration in operating fire extinguisher.

The team of BFP Pililla gave opportunities to some pupils of Halayhayin Elementary
School to use and operate fire extinguishers with their supervision.

The symposium on fire safety and prevention in Halayhayin Elementary School

was successfully conducted. It was participated by 19 teachers and pupils from grades 4
to 6 and 4 non-teaching personnel. No untoward incident happened during the conduct
of the fire demonstration.
