About the Client


The Client is an Indian multinational company and its
headquarter is located in Delhi. The client is a global energy
holding company, engaged in the oil exploration, development,
and production of crude oil and natural gas. Its segments
include Exploration & Production (E&P), and Refining.

Summary
The machine should be able to withstand extreme climatic
condition. If oil level goes down, machine should be able to act
accordingly in order to avoid any fatal condition or damage to
the machine. The machine should have a provision to access
• remotely


• The Challenge

The challenge faced was to build a smart system which will
detect the flow of oil inside and will vary the speed of the
pump respectively.

The selection of the VFD has to be such that it will meet the


required torque criteria and will give a better flexibility during
• low to medium production if the oil level goes down.
To build a software which will give the better visual idea about

the machine and all the parameters scan be controlled.

• OSPL executed a complete electrical, control and automation
• solution. After a detailed study about every aspect of the
• application the selection for the VFD was done. This drive was

able to meet the required criteria and the cost-effective and
maintenance-friendly equipment maximizes uptime while

Using of standard components, optimizes the usage of the power and there is very low
wastage of power thus high efficiency is the ultimate output. Additional benefit of this is,
the components used for integration and automation provide a better chance for future use
if there is extension in the number of the same application. This system supports variety of
communication protocol thus all the components like Motor, VFD, Metering Device, HMI and
can easily communicate with the SCADA system remotely. Thus the downtime is decreased
and precise data can be obtained.

Using this system the user can see the data and record it. This data is represented in the form
of graphs and charts which are easy to interpret and can be used for further study of the
process. The user friendly GUI allows any operator to understand the system and can
operate with little guidelines also.
