My name is Jim Bell, twenty-year-old student studying film and tv production at the university of Cumbria in Carlisle. I
am a determined, passionate and motivated individual that can follow instruction very well; I am also outgoing and very
easy to talk to. I really enjoy making films in my leisure time and within my university course itself. Directing and
producing a film in whatever form is my main passion which I want to pursue in the future. I have worked on various
different films within my course and as a favor for local businesses. I am also a keen sportsman, playing a variety of
sports and activities. Cinematography and photography have been my main area that I wish to explore, I have become
very comfortable with lighting and using rigs to get the best shots due to my background as a scaffolder, it has really
improved how efficiently I work.

EXPERIENCE
MARCH 27TH, 2014 – CURRENT DAY
LABOURER, BELL AND PRIME SCAFFOLDING LTD
Responsible for attending to scaffolders when called upon and working in dangerous environments. Resulting in
a strong level of communication skills, very strict health and safety regulations and persistence due to working in
difficult conditions and terrain. Furthermore, being able to have the ability to construct a scaffold is a very
valuable skill in the film industry due to the film industry relying on rig systems in order to generate diverse shots
to a production. I also run an Instagram account for this company, showcasing their work

FREELANCE FILMMAKER
I have been responsible for creating short promotional videos showcasing company work and in turn building
relationships with potential customers. As I mentioned I run a social media account where I have uploaded
photographs, time lapses and promotional videos for the business above. This has given me a small insight to
what the film industry can offer in terms of job opportunities and has given me a new lease of motivation to
continue down the route of a filmmaker.

EDUCATION
START DATE: SEPTEMBER 2010 I am certain that the skills I possess are relevant to be a
