My Educational Philosophy

I believe that every student has the capability to learn anything on any given day.

Learning is something we are blessed with the opportunity to obtain and the ability to do so.

Learning is something we can all do to better ourselves and brighten the path ahead. It is

unfathomable that the educational system of today focuses more on getting good grades than

mastering the material. When I am teaching my students, I would rather that they focus on

learning the material and comprehending useful information that is being taught rather than

doing only what is necessary to get the “A” or the “4.0.”

I believe that as a teacher, I should build personal relationships with my students.

It is easier to relate things to my students in the long run if I know their interests and

hobbies. All of my students will receive an equal opportunity to learn and obtain the knowledge

that is necessary to move forward. Students will walk out of my classroom at the end of the

school year (or semester) knowing both the curriculum and how to be better citizens in society.

Every student has things that are important to them and I intend on encouraging the students to

embrace these interests and to pursue them. I will place emphasis for them to be able to defend

their opinions and beliefs with facts and other information. All of the students in the classroom

should feel comfortable to share information, answers, and especially to ask questions. They will

not be embarrassed for fear of judgement by myself or their fellow classmates and this is

something that will be established from the very first day.

I believe the best way to teach is to incorporate my teaching style in a way that is

compatible for all students to learn the best.

Teaching styles are never set in stone and should be flexible change at any time, if

necessary, for learning styles and optimum comprehension. I will not teach one way where

anyone who doesn’t get it is lost. As a teacher and an educator, I believe that it is very important

to be involved in the local community and within the schools. I am involved already in the

school just by being an employee, but specifically I believe I should be involved with clubs,

athletics, or other organizations at the school. Being involved in things outside of the classroom,

it will help me to expand the knowledge of the other students, parents, and people in that

community. By understanding what is happening and the other people in that community, it will

become easier for me to teach and relate to the kids that are in that community.

All students learn uniquely and need different things from me as a teacher, I will seek to

provide what’s necessary for each individual student, even if it’s more work for me.

As someone who is in charge of educating the future of the world, it is absolutely

necessary to show that everyone is wonderfully unique in their own way. All students are

different, even a set of twins. I am the teacher who is responsible for teaching these kids how to

be better people and teaching the specific content in my classroom. It is of utmost importance

that I act as a teacher first. I will be friendly and nice to the students, but I am there to teach

them, not to be their best friend and let things slide.
