Professional Statement

A teacher must possess many qualities to be successful inside a classroom environment.

We first off must be flexible, compassionate, caring, and most of all accepting. We do this by not

only opening our classroom environment but using many different instructional approaches to

best support the need of our learners. Each child needs to be met at their level and taught in a

way that supports their learning. As teachers if we come in with the attitude that every child can

and is able to learn then the students start to believe what we are talking about which in turns

makes them start to believe in themselves. Knowledge is power and we are giving these children

the power to create the best version of themselves possible while support their learning.

As humans we are learning until we die, teachers still need to take the time to listen to

our colleagues when they give us suggestions about what we are teaching and maybe how we are

teaching it. Accepting any form of criticism is an important part of the learning process.

We also need to make sure that our appearance is kept up and that we are wearing and

acting as a role model to our students. Following the dress code is very important and allows the

students, teachers, and other staff member that we are here to educate the students to the best of

our ability. This also helps the parents see that we are professional and that we can be trusted

with their child.

Professional Disposition Statement 3

During my Program of Study, my understanding of professional disposition has changed.

I have grown to understand how we support all learners in the classroom while using the

resources of the school and the community. While doing my student teaching, I have observed

how my cooperating teachers works with staff inside our school building while also connecting

with staff at other building for support. It is also very important that we make sure that all the

children are following along with what we are teaching. We need to evaluate what they are

learning and if they are comprehending what we are teaching. To do this we break our lessons

down and do several small assessments during the course.

As I said before we never stop learning, as teachers we will have to adjust how we teach

our students based off the students we are teaching. We will always have areas that we can grow

and learn in. Something that I need to work on is more self-reflection making sure I really see

what is working and what isn’t working. I also need to be able to listen to other teachers and take

what they are saying and work on using that advice while I am teaching.
