Scope
All questions for this competition shall be taken from the topics covered from first quarter to second quarter and
must be aligned to the K-12 curriculum.
MECHANICS OF THE COMPETITION
A. Questions and time allotment
1. There shall be three (3) rounds for all categories; EASY, AVERAGE & DIFFICULT
There shall be fifteen 15 questions in all: (5) easy questions, five (5) average questions, and five (5) difficult
questions. Each correct answer will be given the corresponding points:
Easy (1 point each)
Average (2 points each)
Difficult (3 points each)
2. Each question must be answered within the time allotted for it.
15 seconds for every easy question
30 seconds for every average question
1 minute for every difficult question
3. Additional 2 clincher questions shall also be provided in case of tie-breaking round.
4. All easy questions are multiple choices (a-d) while average and difficult questions are non-multiple choice. These
shall be contributed by each school. Each school shall provide 8 questions (2 easy, 2 average, 2 difficult and 2
clincher) in total for every grade/year level of each subject. The learning competency must be stated in each
question in all categories. All mathematics questions must have complete solutions.
5. All questions must be written on short colored papers divided into 4.
6. Easy (Pink); Average (Yellow); Difficult (Blue); Clincher (Green)
7. All questions must be in an interrogative form and has only one exact answer.

1. There will be 3 officials per classroom which will come from different schools in __________.

Officials assigned in a particular room must not be the coaches of the participants.
2. Calculators and any gadgets shall NOT be allowed in the contest.
3. No contestant shall be allowed to go out once the contest has started.
4. The quiz master shall read each question twice. For English and Science, the contestant shall be allowed to write
his/her answer only after the “GO” signal of the quiz master. For mathematics, the contestant shall be allowed to
start answering as the question is being read. When the given time has elapsed, contestant shall automatically
raise his/her answer written in a 1/8 sized illustration board/white board
( must be brought by the contestant).
5. Only final answers are written on the flash board. All numerical answers must be rounded off to the nearest
tenths. Scratch papers shall be provided.
6. Only the official contestant shall be allowed to raise questions or protests on a particular question. Any concern
regarding the previous question shall NOT be entertained within the next question.
7. Points earned by each contestant in the Easy, Average and Difficult rounds shall be added to rank and identify the
winners. Clincher/s shall be asked to break the tie. The first contestant who is able to raise the right answer will be
declared as the winner. However, only a maximum of (1) minute is allowed to answer every clincher question in
English, Mathematics, and Science.
8. Coaching or any form of cheating is not allowed during the quiz proper; such acts will result to disqualification of
the contestant.
9. A copy of result signed by the room officials must be submitted to the assigned tabulator.
10. The table below shall be used in determining the number of winners in every category.
