Roll No: 36
KMG Infotech (or Key Management Group / KMG) is a software services & consulting
company engaged in providing integrated IT solutions to global insurance, banking & financial
services companies. KMG has a special niche in Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance sector.
KMG has established brand equity in the Insurance domain through the range of services
provided to its client base and the domain knowledge of its professionals.
As a leading global software development company, KMG provides premium IT solutions using
AS/400, Mainframe, Java & Microsoft technologies. In a wide-open sea of countless software
development companies, KMG distinguishes itself as a company driven by excellence.

KMG InfoTech should start actively working on cloud computing solutions for rural and co-
operative sector banks.

According to KMG , who had the ability to manage, build and provide end-to-end solutions
alone would win in a highly competitive market environment. From a pure service company,
KMG Infotech Ld. had transformed into a company that could provide both services and
products. “The company succeeded because it could build the second engine of growth even as
the first engine of growth was being subjected to the margin-compressive competitive forces,”
KMG infotech is taking efforts to safeguard the future by deploying the third engine of growth,
that is, the hosting services. Justifying the move towards cloud computing solutions, pointed out
how the emerging banks were now demanding that the IT services providers also offered turnkey
infrastructure solutions. “This is the second inflection point. It is in its beginning stage to “invest
our three engines of growth — services, product and cloud computing.”

Cloud computing has managed to morph technology into a public utility. Cloud computing is
testimonial to Nicholas Carr’s argument that IT is increasingly becoming a commodity. This
technology boasts of a goliath advantage over all others; its customers need not invest in
expensive infrastructure and can easily access services for a subscription or pay-per-usage fee.
Not only are they able to do away with capital expenditure, they can also avoid operational
overheads, servicing and maintenance costs and provisions. Since these systems are constructed
with diligently controlled interdependence between modules, there exists a high degree of
reliability and consistency.

Now KMG infotech Ltd will have to go in rural they should tie up with the local banks as there
main domain offering is in Banking software They can have ATM’s over there and they educate
people over there as with ATM machines. The benefit both the banks and KMG infotech will get
as that they will be enter the rural market of india and Bank will get less transaction in day and
work load can be reduced . As KMG is new company in india and there is lots of completion
regarding software development in India . If they go ahead with the cloud computing process
they can some difference with the companies . Moreover corporate social responsibility is also
has to be kept in mind , Traditionally, CSR has been associated with corporate giving' or
corporate donations to charitable causes and institutions. However, lately, businesses have
realized that CSR initiatives can be aligned with the business objectives to bring beneficial value
to the company along with the community at large. Businesses are picking some areas that match
with their corporate values, or those that support their business objectives. Here educating the
villagers according to city people is part of CSR too.

“This is one of the solutions, an organization can look at. Organizations find cloud computing
attractive because of less capital expenditure and per-usage operational expenditure model.
Organizations need not spend extra money on managing resources (human, servers, data centers
etc). This is not their core competence either. Cloud computing is agnostic to any sector and can
be deployed based on requirements and future roadmap”,.

The main advantage of cloud computing is flexibility; the hardware infrastructure can be scaled
up and down based on the requirement. Other features include easy recovery from failure;
bringing up development or test instances; and easy upgrading to new software release.

Cloud computing possesses features that seem ideal for the development finance sector. It is
therefore imperative that we take a closer a look at what it means for microfinance as a whole
and what promise it holds as the perfect enterprise technology solution.

However, will organizations in the financial inclusion space find it viable to venture into cloud
computing territory? And if they do, will they be able to execute a smooth technology transition
cloud computing creates flexibility in terms of resources. Transition of course, is a more
subjective issue and depends on what technology the organization is currently using and what
they desire to use in the future. Given the sensitive nature of enterprise information, managing it
in a centralized architecture is no smooth ride. Threats to data security rear their ugly heads even
in the most idyllic security scenarios. Data Security and Governance in cloud computing are
battles that service providers fight and this does little to allay the concerns of organizations, since
as users, have no control over security mechanisms.

This is a challenge the entire industry must overcome by investing in efforts to create
unassailable solutions for Data Governance and Data security. But again, this is true of every
market created for data management purposes and with the heightened sense of awareness about
data security; the solution cannot be far.

There is an great concept taken by SBI too

If erratic power supply has been a deterrent to banks in setting up automated

teller machines (ATMs) in rural areas, here is a simple solution from a
Chennai-based company. Go Solar!

With a view to building technology for practical use and with rural focus,
Vortex Engineering Pvt Ltd, in association with Indian Institute of Technology,
Madras (IIT-M), has come up with a unique solar-powered ATMs that consume
less power, are more rugged and that can accept soiled notes!
