o Taught an ACT Writing class for 11th graders every Tuesday for four weeks; I worked with
students on how best to navigate and prepare for the Writing portion
o Taught the first few days of Spirit Car by Diane Wilson to the 9th graders
o Sat in on different content area classrooms to get a feel for different teaching strategies
o Learned more about the Special Education Department via interviews with staff
o The 12th grade students had “Adulting Days”—instigated by their own request—where they had
an opportunity to take two classes of their choosing regarding topics from “Basic Car
Maintenance” to “How to Start Saving”. I was asked to sit on a panel to share and accept
questions regarding my non-traditional path after high school.

Wilderness Volunteer
I worked with a ranger out of Kawishiwi District in the Boundary Waters. Each trip was between 8-12
days long followed by six-days back in town where I would work at the Chocolate Moose and the
Front Porch Coffee Shop. In the woods we maintained portages, dug new latrine holes, checked
campsites (fire grates and pits) and overall trail maintenance and garbage removal.
