Job Opportunity

We are looking for a Senior Reservoir Engineer for one of our clients that is operating within the Sultanate
of Oman and managing all life-cycle aspects of some fields within South of Oman. The followings are the
tasks to be conducted:

• Review basic well files and reports.


• Review and analyze wells’ pressures, samples and well test data.
• Review and validate any analytical/simulation models or test/development reports to look for any
opportunity that was overlooked or can be optimized.
• Come up with expected fluid properties summary.
• Perform study on well-spacing to get the optimum for each field.
• Provide production-forecast profiles for the discoveries, potential prospects and existing fields
(awareness of PDO’s CP-186 is a privilege).
• Identify the uncertainties and put possible mitigation plans.
• Execute FDP outcomes and related activities.
• Direct and monitor the completion and evaluation of wells, well testing and well surveys.
• Monitor production rates and plan rework processes in order to improve production.
• Analyze data in order to recommend placement of wells and supplementary processes to enhance
production.
• Prepare programs for well completions, well testing, PLT, RFT and PVT surveys.
• Review well data to find suitable candidates for increasing production by simulation, perforating
or artificial lift optimization and generate production forecasts.
• Plan, review and evaluate Polymer projects - required also to help raising the knowledge of the
less experienced reservoir engineers.

Skills Required:

The Senior Reservoir Engineer is a role for an experienced Planning/Development Reservoir Engineer who
has the experience in various reservoir mechanisms and fluid/rock types. The candidate is expected to
have experience in marginal small fields with low recoveries, multi-layers and medium to heavy oils. The
candidate is expected to develop appropriate solutions using classical analytical techniques and/or
simulation. The candidate should have experience in waterflood and in, at least, one EOR method (either
Thermal or Chemical). The work requires, but not limited to, the followings:

- 15+ years of experience in reservoir engineering, Field-Development-Planning, Improved-Oil-


Recovery (IOR), Enhanced-Oil-Recovery (EOR) and operations.
- Work closely with the drilling, production and geoscience teams to come up with field
development plans (number of wells, completions, etc.).
- Compile and run reservoir models to identify various aspects of reservoir behaviour (Good user
of ECLIPSE/Petrel RE simulator).
- Carry out analysis of technical data and studies, including well tests, production performance, PLT,
PVT and SCAL data.
- Participate in reservoir modeling and simulation studies (as a peer reviewer whenever required).
- Plan, review and evaluate waterflood projects - required also to help raise the knowledge of the
less experienced reservoir engineers.
- Plan, review and evaluate CSS projects - required also to help raise the knowledge of the less
experienced reservoir engineers.
- Perform general coaching and assistance to the less experienced reservoir engineers and interns.
- Have experience in hydraulic fracturing for oil and/or gas wells.
