The difference between Ego and Self-respect

Wisdom is to know the difference between ego and self-respect, and to become more
aware towards these. When the ego is satisfied there is happiness, and when hurt, pain
and irritation are experienced. But self-respect is beyond respect and disrespect. On
being satisfied or hurt, under any circumstance, it inspires for karm. To satisfy the ego
(ahankaar) people might indulge in manipulations, become calculative and avoid
working hard towards growth, whereas self-respect (swabhiman) always propels one to
work harder for self-satisfaction. Just like Shri Krishn inspired Arjun to fight for self-
respect and self-duty.

A self-respecting human understands well the importance of self-respect and his duty
towards it. He knows its value, whether it is his own, of others or of his nation or even
the Earth.

The absoluteness (poornta) of a truthful (karm) action is in negating imperfection and

falsehood, and to challenge it. For anyone who does so, the Supreme himself becomes
his charioteer.

Himmat-e-marda, maddat-e-khuda

God helps those who help themselves.

Knowing the difference between self-respect and ego, if personal action is not decided
accordingly, then acquired knowledge gets converted to ignorance, stagnates, becoming
merely for exhibition.

It is important to know how according to the time-requirement a particular course of

action (karm) needs to be decided and how with all your mental and physical capacities
it should be performed and concluded. Whosoever has perfected the sudarshan chakr
of truth, he/she will be inspired to work according to the time requirement. Many
people know about time but the courage and pledge to safe guard self-respect for
rightful action/duty (karm) at the right time, as done by Rani of Jhansi and Bhagat Singh
is missing.

A true Karm yogi will defend self-respect with all his might – may it be body, mind, soul
or resources. The symbol of Maa Bharati’s glorious self-respect and its crowning glory
are the white pure high peaks of the Himalayas. Working for this is true-endeavour
(karmmathta). The absoluteness (poornta) of life is not it a long life but how human
dharm (manav dharm) is conducted.

5 Wrong Beliefs People Often Have About Life

1. Basically, it is the problems people face that are responsible for their worries. False.
To a great extent, the opposite is true: Many of our problems are actually “worried into
existence.” It is one’s attitude that counts. Worry is caused, not by outward
circumstances, but by our reactions to them. A healthy mind will remain poised under
all circumstances. Where, indeed, is misfortune, if one does not accept it as such? The
great sage, Paramhansa Yogananda said, “There is no such thing as misfortune. There is
only opportunity!” Worry only paralyzes the will, preventing constructive action. Be
free, like leaves on the wind. Grieve not when the breezes of circumstance tear you
from an accustomed security. Disruption is often the first step toward a greater
freedom.

2. The best way to get rid of trouble is to get in there squarely with both fists and
demolish it. False. When the doctor catches the disease he is trying to fight, he may
infect others even while conducting his campaign of healing. Troubles are inevitable at
one time or another in our lives. But it does not follow that we must be troubled by
them. Disturbed minds, in the very act of combatting old troubles, only create fresh
disturbances. Remember, trouble is real only to the extent that you accept it as such. Do
take practical steps to overcome difficulties, but above all learn to be at peace inwardly.
Only as the troubled waters are soothed will the ripples disappear.

3. The more compassionate a person, the more he assumes to himself the sufferings of
others. False. One doesn’t save a drowning man by jumping in and drowning with him.
To assume the sufferings of others only adds substance to their misery. This is not
compassion; it is only pity. Compassion is the longing to lift people out of their suffering.
The compassionate man holds a mental image, not of people’s sorrows, but of the
freedom and joy that is potentially theirs. Instead of assuming to himself their
weaknesses, he helps them to acquire his strength.

4. Daily meditation is impracticable for really busy people. False. I once knew a
millionaire, owner and director of many enterprises, who spent most of his morning
hours in meditation. When he was asked how he could afford to spend so much time
away from his work, he replied that he could ill afford not to do so. He said that
meditation gave him the inner poise and strength to cope with his problems effectively,
to solve them with a minimum of useless worry. He started his daily work late, but soon
he was far ahead of associates who believed that one must be forever “at it” in order to
succeed.

5. Success depends upon how much a person accomplishes in his lifetime. False. True
success depends primarily not on what a person does, but on what he IS. Action only
mirrors the inner man. Too much outward activity depletes a person inwardly. The
results of unceasing busyness are invariably revealed in pointless and inconsequential
labors. But the more worthy the man himself, the more worthwhile his activities will be,
no matter what he does. His very gait will be a sermon. The very tone of his voice will
teach, more than any book could, the significance of a life well lived.
Why do Good People Suffer?

“Why do good people suffer or why do bad things happen to good people?” This
question seems to be very common these days. It seems as though good people get the
brunt of all suffering, while evil-doers enjoy life. But if we observe closely, we see that
everyone undergoes suffering in some form. Keeping this in mind, our question
becomes meaningless. Just because a person is good does not mean there would be no
suffering in his/her life.

But what do we mean by ‘good’? In Sanskrit, ‘sadhu’ is the word used for a good person.
Sadhu comes from the word ‘saadh’, meaning ‘to accomplish’. If we work for ourselves
and achieve great things, there is nothing laudable about it, but if we help others to
achieve their goals, then it is an accomplishment. If someone is good to you and you
reciprocate, that is common courtesy. But if someone is harming you, and despite that
you continue to wish that person well without expecting anything in return, it is real
goodness. A sadhu bathing in the river saw a drowning insect. He saved it from
drowning and was stung in return. Again, the insect fell back into the river and the
sadhu pulled it out of the water and placed it under a shady tree. On seeing this, a
person asked the sadhu, “Why did you do that?” He replied, “The insect did not give up
its nature, so why should I?”

How can we achieve this goodness in our lives? To reach any target, we must first have
a goal. Similarly, for achieving goodness, we must have a standard of goodness which is
known to us, because only then can we rise up to the required levels. As long as we see
differences in the world around us, true goodness will not manifest. This can be
achieved only when we become aware of our oneness with others. An example will
illustrate this point better. Every organ of my body is part of one whole. If the finger
goes into the eye, there is instant forgiveness, because of the complete identification
with the finger.

Now that we know what is good, let us see what suffering is. Objective suffering befalls
all people, good or bad. Situations leading to suffering could have their roots in past
actions. Objectively, the existence of pain or any other physical handicap cannot be
denied, but the degree of sorrow this leads to is entirely subjective. Riches or positions
of power do not guarantee happiness. People become miserable over small matters. If a
person claims that he is good and is suffering, while the dishonest person is flourishing,
we can be very sure that the person is not good. For a good man, the real suffering is to
do something against his convictions. Suppose a pure vegetarian is faced with a
situation of remaining hungry or eating beef, the chances are that the former option
would be more acceptable.
All our spiritual practices cannot eliminate suffering, but they protect the mind and
make suffering acceptable, just as on a rainy day, we cannot stop the rain, but can
protect ourselves from getting wet with an umbrella. Bhagavan Krishna says, “A good
person never suffers.” By some logic we feel that suffering and enjoyment is related to
past actions. If we observe at the subtle level, we find immediate results of our actions.
The moment a good thought enters our mind, we feel elation, and similarly a wicked
thought causes agitation.

Real suffering is when we lose our goodness. Compromising with goodness is the
greatest suffering. Even though superficially it may appear that evil doers are
flourishing, it should not be an excuse to compromise. The problem arises when one
does not have an ideal or when one is not able to live up to one’s ideal. But the greatest
problem is when one believes that the ideal is not worth living up to and has lost its
utility. Remember, a good man will stand by his convictions, because “If you do not
stand for something, you will fall for everything.”

How to become fearless?

It is important to understand that the air never gets depleted from the universe no
matter how much is consumed. We are floating in a pool.

Natural law is that what one may absorb, others may not be absorbing it. For example:
A leaf takes green colour, the flower is not absorbing it....it is taking another colour.

If someone absorbs fear, he is making someone else fearless. That individual is creating
that field, atmosphere around by being receptive to it.....

Don’t take fear. An environment of fear is self-created... enhancing the devil by feeling
fearful of him. By being fearful, someone else is becoming fearless. This is how terrorists
work!

Each one is poorn. The Supreme has made everyone a reflection of itself.... Be fearless
and counter attack. Now we have to be fearless, aware and conscious. This is the
message.

Understand the subtleties. Everything is floating in the universe. Universe balances all.
Same sun rays fall on the cactus as on the flower, what they do not absorb, shows on
them.

Doubts and fear come when you are fearful, karmheen.

Face your fears... counteract by saying: “Why should I be scared when I am truly
working on my self?” People often become submissive. Say to yourself: “I am in
surrender if I am truthful then divine help will always be there for me” Energy is
depleted by being fearful. Forward your fears to the Universe. “I am on path of truth
love karm and light, I am not taking it.”

Watch the body language change. Grace will descend.....Be a worthy medium of divine
grace.

Why do we get attracted to Someone?

Attraction is Natural Law. It depends on our inner evolution, which even the mind is not
aware of. At the TIME OF ATTRACTION both persons have to be on the same chakras, as
stated in the chakra orgasm mechanism.
Sometimes that strong hold of attraction dwindles. This has two causes. Either we have
experienced THE ORGASM OF THAT PARTICULAR CHAKRA WITH EACH OTHER OR OUR
NEED HAS CHANGED –e.g. a person seeking knowledge is still searching hence continues
to exist at the solar chakra while the partner’s desire has shifted to the higher chakra,
after obtaining knowledge according to his capacity or has slipped down to the hara or
root chakra. That is why two people cannot have the same intensity of attraction all the
time. It fluctuates, this is Natural Law. Only people who are GROWING TOGETHER can
feel the same intensity of attraction.

The fluctuation of living on different chakras creates love-hate relationships. The

intensity of hate depends on the DISTANCE OF CHAKRAS. A person on root chakra will
feel the intensity of hate more towards a person living on the bindu visarg or third eye. I
have not said Sahsrar chakra because you cannot HATE a person living on the Sahsrar –
Avatar (you have to be possessed by satanic forces to do so).

Till bindu visarg human qualities exist so feelings are bound to fluctuate. Human is are
affected or touched by feelings in degrees. But the AVATAR FEELS EVERYTHING hundred
PERCENT. He has absolute sensitivity to all feelings, but does not absorb anything. A
Sahsrar person does not have to think that he has to be detached. It is a part of his
Natural instinct. Everything just flows through his being according to time requirement.
It passes through him like waves and he rides them effortlessly, like an adept Wave-rider
– Just flowing with the TIME according to SUPREME CONSCIOUSNESS. This is the
primary role of an Avatar - To be a paradigm of the absolute (poorn) human mechanism.

Every evolved soul is in search of knowing the truth of human existence and now with
advancement in all sciences ranging from philosophy, psychology to astronomy, genetics
and reinterpretation of Yogic and healing therapies the time has come for truth to
reveal itself and when truth suffices, every contradiction and confusion subsides. Only
then truth, beauty and bliss pervade. This is the Truth.
The beauty of negativity

Everyone says ‘think positive,’ because they feel it is the easiest way to push out
negativity out of the mind. They also attempt to achieve this by various techniques of
meditation suggested by different religious paths. True spirituality advises to let
thoughts surface irrespective of being negative or positive. One should just witness
them. The awareness of the truth of their existence assists in letting them go, or pass
on. They should just be felt and experienced and even if they surface frequently, one
should not get perturbed or affected. Let them play, because the moment we shun
them forcibly or pass on without registering the experience they form a part of the
subconscious, to surface during unguarded or weak moments. So beauty lies not in
negating the negativity but witnessing it.In such instances one should face the truth that
there are still reflections of negativity within, that is why there are negative thoughts.

Work on yourself to be a positive person. Do not invite insomnia and depression by

fighting negative thoughts. They surface to get released. Do not push them under the
carpet. The process of witnessing negative thoughts surfacing, and simultaneously
promising oneself to become more positive is beautiful. So negativity has its own unique
value and importance, just like everything else that happens to us.

Why are we unhappy?

People say, “I am unhappy. I am suffering.” But Vedanta asks, ‘What is the weight of
sorrow? Does the sorrow weigh 50 gm, 200gm, 500 gm, or 1 kg? Has anyone measured
the mass of sorrow? What is the color of sorrow? What is the form of unhappiness?
What is the force of sorrow?’ It has no force of its own. Nobody has seen sorrow having
any mass, color, form or power. God has no sorrow to give to us. We don’t want
unhappiness. Still, we are suffering. God has not created sorrow nor has nature done so.
Does the mother create sorrow for her child? No! Why then do children become
unhappy? It is due to lack of understanding. Going to school is for the benefit of children
but they are unhappy being sent to school; only due to lack of good sense. Bathing is
good for health; soap washes the dirt away but children cry when mother bathes them.
Unhappiness has no mass, color, form or force, other than lack of good sense.

There are two types of Creation. One is the Creation of God. There is no sorrow in it. The
other is our (mental) creation. We create it due to our foolishness. Diamonds, pearls,
rubies are created by God. But one becomes unhappy thinking, ‘He has diamonds,
pearls and rubies. I don’t have.” But the one who has them will also die leaving the gems
and jewels behind. If you will have them you too will have to depart leaving them
behind. Right now, you should thank God almighty for giving food and shelter. What if
you have the stones and what if you don’t? The one who possesses them feels proud, “I
have diamonds, pearls and rubies.” He is ensnared by egotism and you are ensnared by
foolish envious thinking. The diamonds created by God do not cause pain to anybody
nor do they give joy to anybody. God has created diverse forms, colors and events for
your joy, your knowledge, and enhancing your divine love. After birth you came in your
mother’s lap. Neither your mother nor father nor grandfather made the milk. Mother
ate rotis and vegetables but God made milk for you in mother’s body before your birth.
You suckled it as and when you wished and then turned your face away. It is not
considered to be defiled; it needs neither boiling nor storing in a refrigerator. Had it
been too sweet, it would have caused hyperglycemia; had it been tasteless, you would
not have liked it. Had it been too hot, it would have burnt your tongue; had it been too
cold, it would have aggravated Vata. Neither much cold nor much hot, neither much
sweet nor tasteless. The excellent and healthful drink! Was it made by any insentient
machine or Supreme Consciousness? Was it made by any enemy or Supreme
benefactor? No, it was made by the Supreme Lord, the supreme well-wisher and friend
of all; and it was made out of compassion with great care and attention.

When God brings favorable circumstances in life, it is to encourage us. And when, at
times, He brings adversities in our life, it is to caution against becoming haughty. He
gives illness to teach us not to be unrestrained in diet. He gives us health to serve
mankind and to engage ourselves in devotional practices or to know Him. So tell me
whether God causes pain to us or elevates us; God is our well wisher or enemy? He is
our well-wisher not enemy. God wants our progress, He is our well-wisher, and we also
want to progress for our good yet why the sorrow? Why the unhappiness? The reason is
that we don't accept God's will. We want God to fulfill our wishes. You see palaces,
mansions and gardens in a movie. But if the viewer wants to keep on viewing a scene
forever! No, the scene will go and others - of roads, thieves, dacoit, good people,
dancers, and lovers - will come. All these are ever-changing scenes of the cinema. If
somebody wants to keep a particular scene stationary or to prevent some scene one
does not like, it is not possible. If somebody wants a particular scene to go away, it is not
possible. You cannot keep any scene stationary or prevent any scene or change a scene
at your will. This is only a film for your amusement, entertainment or education.

Likewise, God has made Shastras; He has prescribed paths of Jnana, Bhakti and Karma.
God wants our well-being. If we view films, deceive others or do other unworthy things
like drinking, gambling, slandering, are not we ourselves sowing the seeds of misery?

So sorrow is formless, weightless and colorless. Unhappiness is the other name for
foolishness, it is the lack of good sense, of insistence.

Somebody dies. His death does not make you unhappy or sad. It is the feeling of ‘he is
my relative…’ that makes you sad. Birth of a person does not give happiness by itself. It
is the belief ‘a son or daughter is born to me’ that gives you joy. We take the body as ‘I’
and the things and persons related to the body as ‘mine’. But if we take the Self, the
Supreme Self from where the ‘I’ arises as ‘mine’ and the world as a dream and conduct
ourselves in the world judiciously, there is happiness and bliss all the way. ‘These are my
diamonds. These are my pearls. This is my house…’ They were possessed by someone
else in the past and will be possessed by some other person in the future. The land
which you believe to be yours belonged to somebody else before it became yours. And
when you die or may be before that its ownership will pass on to somebody else. So do
these things actually belong to me? No. You may believe them to be yours superficially,
but know within that all this is but a dream and the One Who ‘knows’ it i.e. God alone is
mine. He is mine who does not leave my company even after death. This realization
leads to perennial bliss.

So dear ones, God did not create sorrow! Neither was it created by nature, brother!
Attachment-aversion, ignorance, egoism are the causes of sorrow. Ignorance will be
removed by the knowledge of essence, attachment-aversion will be eliminated by
worshipping the Lord, by meditation. That’s all, your love for Lord is accomplished and
attainment of the Supreme bliss is done.

God did not create unhappiness and you too don’t want it. Unhappiness is the second
name for foolishness and it can be eliminated with the help of satsang, for satsang
awakens discrimination.

‘Wisdom dawns not without association with the saints and such communion cannot be
easily enjoyed without the grace of Lord Rama.’

(Sri Ramacharitamanasa Bala-Kanda: 2.4)

One gets human birth with the simplest grace of God. One gets faith and a Guru with
special grace of God. With more divine grace one gets initiated into Guru Mantra and
love for the Lord is kindled in one’s heart. Divine love will lead sooner or later to the
divine Knowledge also.

Your Self is eternal and immortal.

‘The individual soul is a part of God, immortal, conscious, untainted by illusion and by
nature perfectly blissful.’

(Sri Ramacharitamanasa Uttar Kanda: 116.1)

You are blissful by your very nature but these visitors – worries, passions and beliefs etc.
– make you unhappy. You do not want sorrow; and it is not created by God or Maya or
nature. Unhappiness is on account of ignorance. Don’t intensify your pains and sorrows
thinking yourself to be miserable or suffering. ‘The mind is afflicted with unhappiness;
the body is afflicted with the pain; I am the Immortal son of God, the Knower of all.’ –
Thus Self-enquiry can eliminate your pains and sorrows.
Time Requirement

Time requirement is living, connecting and evolving in the present moment, as life lived
this moment will never come back. Do as the moment demands. Live it to perfection.
Aspire for perfection by using all your physical, mental and spiritual capacities to the
maximum, without expecting any results. To know what is required at a particular
moment, listen to your conscience. If you are unable to listen to your conscience, it is
better to get connected to the consciousness of the most evolved person of that time.
Use the past as reference only. Learn to live the art of living in perpetual joy, experience
the joy of being a real human being. Live fearlessly. Live in totality. Love all equally, hate
none. Everything is blissful in this creation. Nothing is to be negated.

The universe is a bundle of contrasts. A beautiful and rhythmic world is created only as a
result of a balanced fusion of these contrasts. The true dharm or duty of man is to lead
by example by living among the vicissitudes of life yet showing the path of truth, so that
imperfection and ignorance can be eradicated. An avtar has no borrowed image or
artificial personality, he or she works according to the requirement of the time. His/ Her
form is always different from the previous avtars since it is in accordance with the
requirement of the yug or age.

Only those who dare to do penance (tapasya) to know and seek the answers according
to Time Requirement, get to know that highest evolved soul.

Hard-work is the only option!

O human, always be aware of one thing that a lazy person is not only the one who does
not want to work but he too who can perform better but doesn’t and nor does he aspire
to do so.
Ask your heart, whether there is a feeling (bhav) of expectation from God, whenever
you pray.

You have been plagued by this mentality since ages that someone else will do
something for you and this thought has made you intolerant (aheshnu) and (akarmanye)
lazy. Now listen to the condition of the boons (vardaans).

A middle aged couple could not arrange for a happy and peaceful life while they were
young. They banked their hopes on their only son, assuming him to be the support in
their old-age. But nothing of this sort happened. The son too only managed to make
ends meet by doing odd-jobs. Old age dawned upon them and yet they had no house or
any economic support (dukaan). Worried, they began running here and there looking for
a solution.
Then someone gave them a skull and told then to worship it with full adulation and
reverence (lagan) only then it would fulfil three of their desires.

Three boons are a lot. The couple was very happy and pleased.

Khoob manoyog se, With all their heart-felt trust they started to worship the skull. After
a few days, in the night, there were some vibrations in the skull. It was time now to ask
for the boons. They asked for a house. In the morning a man came and announced that
they were to receive a large sum of money. When they enquired about the source of it,
they were told that their only son was killed in a gruesome accident and the money was
his compensation.

Crushed with sorrow and they lost their bearings. When they recovered a little, they
remembered the skull and started to invoke it. As soon as it showed some signs of
movement they asked for their son back. And lo and behold! Their son came back but in
a badly mutilated condition. He needed constant care, howling day and night in agony,
asking for food, medicines etc. Their old bodies became weary looking after such a
horrible case.

In despair, they searched for a way out - once again they remembered the skull. Again
the entire process of invoking it started – worshipping, chanting mantras. Once again
the skull moved. This time they asked for the liberation and peace of their son’s soul.

All three desires were consumed without bearing any fruit (nishphal). But their
condition remained the same as before, in fact it became worse, their only hope and
support - their son was gone. So now all that remained was to sit and blame their fate.
This is the story of the happenings (niyati) of the karm-cycle (karmchakr).

From Hirananyakashap to Ravan, many seeped by their arrogance, performed penances

using the powers of various mantras and tantras and received boons from God. But the
divine plan (vidhi ka vidhan) somehow (chooses and) prepares a medium who acts as an
antidote to boons procured through the limited mind.

So, o human, know that all that is achieved by working without desire, through sincere
hard work according to the laws of natural Nature (kalyankari) – creates path for the
welfare of all.

This world is very beautiful and an absolutely appropriate laboratory for refining your
being and expansion of divine qualities (gunas)

An Introduction of SELF
Everything depends upon the determination of self. If anybody realises that the real self
is neither the physical body, nor the subtle body, it is beyond these two, it is a particle of
eternally existing blissful principle, he will surely try for spiritual development.
Therefore, if we sincerely want actual bliss, we should give up our arrogance that we
can get it by our own efforts.

Chanting of the Holy Name avoiding tenfold offences in the company of shuddha
Bhaktas (Pure devotees) is the only way to get emancipation from miseries of the world
and to get Absolute Bliss.

Only a sincere, completely surrendered soul can rescue himself from the clutches of
Maya by the grace of Sri Krishna and His Absolute Counterpart Gurudeva.

Even if we, by previous eternal good deeds, come in contact with a true devotee, we can
not submit to him sincerely and whole heartedly. It is very difficult to give up our
mundane egotism which we have acquired by cycles of births and deaths after being
averse to Sri Krishna.

God can appear in this world in any form He likes, for the eternal good of the enslaved
Jivas, over whom He has got affection.

As long as you will not get taste of superior ambrosia, the tendency to get sense -
gratification can not be eradicated. It depends on the intensity of sadhana to get the
desired result.

It will not be wise to devote our valuable time and energy of this precious human birth
for mundane affairs and mundane temporary benefits. Efforts in this world will not
produce lasting results.

We should take absolute shelter at the Lotus Feet of Gurudeva who will be indicated by
the attributes of being well-versed in the Vedas and equivalent scriptures, receiving
transcendental Divine message through preceptorial line, as well as having realization of
the Divinity.

There is no difficulty in the worship of Sri Krishna, as He is nearest and dearest. He is

residing within our hearts. He does not see mundane merits. He sees the sincerity of our
hearts whether we actually want Him or not.

Repugnance to the service of Sri Krishna and his devotees is the cause of nescience.
Nescience, i.e. ignorance is the cause of misidentification of self. Misidentification of self
is the cause of material desires. Material desires are the cause of committing sins.
Committing sins is the cause of suffering. So the root cause of suffering is averseness to
serve Sri Krishna.
I do not know whether you had the fortune to have darshana of our most revered Sri
Gurudeva who is the absolute counter-part of Supreme Lord Sri Krishna. I do not think
me entitled to give mantra to anybody. I am doing this against my will only for fear of
committing offence at the feet of His Divine Grace Srila Gurudeva who has ordered me
to do so.

Any serious endeavour for eternal devotional benefit will be successful, if it is done by
invoking grace of Divine Master, Revered Vaishnavas and Supreme Lord for the purpose
of propitiating Them only and not for any other purpose. Any desire for mundane name
and fame or for any other ulterior motive will frustrate our devotional, spiritual life. We
should remember the teachings of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu- "Trinadapi Suneechena,
Tarorapi Sahisnuna, Amanina Manadena Kirtaneeya Sada Hari."

We should chant the Holy Name of Sri Krishna or Glories of Sri Krishna, His Name, Form,
Attributes and Pastimes with the fourfold divine qualities—being humbler than blade of
grass, more forbearing than tree, having no desire for name and fame, but according
due respect to all.

Sharnagati is the best medicine for cure of all afflictions and the solution of all problems.

Wherever we shall devote our energy we shall go there. So, the wise, always devote
their mind, intelligence, senses, words and everything for the service of Sri Krishna.

Those Jivas are blessed who have got the aptitude to serve Sri Krishna and Krishna
Bhaktas.

You are to surrender to Sadguru unconditionally and worship Him. It is my firm

conviction that you will be blessed and you will get all attainments by His Grace. Actual
Sat-Guru is rarely to be found in this world. A conditioned soul — human being —
cannot be a Sat-Guru.

Spirituality Leads To Success

Why do only few people reach the pinnacle in their field and make a name for
themselves? What is it that sets them apart from others?

They all succeed because they have a very strong spiritual line.

Strengthen your spiritual line and you too will become best in your field. The stronger
your spiritual line, the less you will get affected by situations and people around. Your
action/ reaction compartment will become smaller and smaller. By reacting to situations
and people you increase your own “karm bandhan”.
Pranam teaches you to act not react.

Increase your spiritual strength by working on yourself so that you work towards your
goals blissfully…

Selfishness over Sacrifice

Once upon a time a sage and a disciple were discussing the issue of altruism versus
selfish interest. The guru said to his disciple: "Don't trust anyone, particularly he who
swears by ethics and principles.

Ultimately, a person whose primary focus is on the world, acts entirely in a selfish way".

The disciple was astounded. He remarked: "Shouldn't a spiritual seeker always think
well of every person? Should he not trust the Lord seated in each person's heart?"

The sage replied: "We must trust in the spiritual goodness of every living being, but we
should never delude ourselves about his natural material responses and behaviour".

He continued: "Even as a person condemns the unethical and unprincipled behavior of

another, he will find himself helplessly behaving identically, when in similar
circumstances".

Ultimately, we come to trust in the will of God, and His perfection. By the law of karma,
each person will get his due. The mills of God grind slowly, but they grind exceedingly
fine.

"What about trusting one's friends?" the disciple protested. "How about trusting one's
parents, bro-thers and sisters?"

The sage replied: "Your only friend is God and those who cease to be, having lost
themselves in Him. Many lives have you had before this one, many parents and many
siblings".

Connections of the flesh are often a great burden. They create expectations on both
sides that are impossible to fulfil, and obligations that often make life difficult to bear.

Despite blood being 'thicker than water', none may be truly depended upon. "The
sooner you are free of such illusions, the happier you will become".

With these words, the sage led his disciple through pouring rain to the nearby river
which was in spate. In the swelling river was a tree that was rapidly being submerged.
A monkey was seated near the top of the tree and she held her baby close to her breast.
As the water rose higher, the mother climbed higher and higher.

Finally, as the water rose to her chest, the monkey raised the baby in her arms above
her head. At this point, the disciple looked triumphantly at the guru.

"Wait a bit", said the sage. "Let us stay here awhile".

Finally, the water rose above her head. The mother monkey now placed the baby below
the water, and climbed on it to keep her head above the flood.

At the moment of crisis, she sacrificed her child for her own life.

Have you ever been disillusioned by someone you trusted or believed in?

That is a painful way to become enlightened. The painless way is to listen to the voices
of wisdom that echo within.

Ancients have said that "One should never trust anyone in material consciousness".
Every worldly person rides on what is termed manorath or chariot of the mind, and
cannot be depended upon or trusted; especially where his selfish interest is concerned.

Trust in God and those who have truly lost themselves in Him.

Unselfishness, sacrifice, unconditional love and service are the raison d'etre of the
spiritual person. One should not however, expect unselfishness as the behavioral norm
for other people, regardless of their relationship with you.

As far as worldly affairs with ordinary persons are concerned, either create systems that
make depending entirely upon trust irrelevant, or align your interests so closely with
them, that your interests become their interests.

The Stages of Love

Selfless love is an internal penance (sadhna), which is far removed from external
penance and the attachment for all kinds of relationships. To ignite such a divine love in
our heart our bhavs have to be scrutinized every moment with complete awareness on
the tests of truth.

There are seven steps to attain such love. You are on which rung of this ladder of love
only you can determine by examining yourself and getting an over view of this, work on
yourself.
The evolution of love (growth of love): -

We love only when someone loves us.

We love effortlessly and spontaneously.
We want to be loved in exchange.
We love even if we are not loved in return i.e. we love unconditionally.
We expect that at some level, even this unconditional love of ours is recognized,
appreciated and accepted.
Moving ahead of this state -

We love for love’s sake - pure love then

Ultimately we love spontaneously, simply, effortlessly and purely without any fear of
mental, social or moral bondages, desires, needs and expectations. This highest form of
love is guided by true wisdom and bestows bliss and joy.

Permanent cure of all diseases

In Bhagavad-gita, you will find that Lord Krishna says to Arjuna:

mamaivamso jiva-loke
jiva-bhutaù sanatanah

(Bhagavad-gita, 15-7)

“The jivas (the living entities) are parts of My potency.” When we go through the
scriptures, we should accept all the evidence. So, in this verse Krishna says that the jivas
are parts of His potency and in other verses He says that they are the outcome of the
potency of the Supreme Lord:

Sri Krishna says He has two kinds of potencies, the inferior (apara) potency and the
superior (para) potency. The inferior potency is comprised of the five gross elements,
namely earth, water, fire, air and ether and also of the three subtle elements, namely
mind, intelligence and perverted ego. The other potency is the superior or spiritual
potency. The atma or the real self, is the outcome of this spiritual potency. It is
different from this gross material body and the subtle astral body. So, this material
body is the outcome of the apara potency and the real self is the outcome of the para
potency. Potencies should exist for the possessor of those potencies. Any part of a
potency should be for the pleasure of the Eternal Master and Enjoyer of all these
potencies. So this is our natural function: Krishna is eternal, His potencies are eternal,
and the parts of His potencies are eternal. Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu says:

jivera ‘svarupa’ haya—krishnera ‘nitya-dasa’

Krishnera ‘tatastha-shakti’ ‘bhedabheda prakasha’

There is the internal potency and the external potency, and in between these is the
marginal potency, which has a connection with both the internal and the external
potencies. The human being, the real self, is the eternal servant (nitya-dasa) of the
Supreme Person Sri Krishna and is the outcome of the marginal potency (taöastha-
Shakti) of the Supreme Lord. A vertical line can be diverted to either side, and also a
river can be diverted to the sea. Like that, when we become averse to Sri Krishna, the
external potency envelops us and brings us to this world to pass through cycles of births
and deaths. If we have the desire to obtain emancipation then we have to cross over
that marginal potency and enter into the internal potency. We have to submit to that
internal potency, the superior potency. To get that which is superior, we have to
submit. That concrete form of the superior potency is the shuddha-bhakta—sad-guru.
If anyone submits to the sad-guru, he will become blessed and enter into the internal
potency. By entering into the internal potency we will get the transcendental, sweet,
spiritual realm of Vaikuntha, Vrindavana, etc.

Spiritual Lessons from the Stars

When we look up at the night sky and think about how far away all the stars and planets
appear, we may feel small and alone. The universe is so large and we are so small.
However, saints tell us that our body contains the entire macrocosm; it is the residence
of God. Thus, we are not alone. God is within us. Our physical body may be small, but
our soul is one with the Lord.

Many spiritual truths come to mind as we gaze at the night sky. One is the realization
that we are mortal, that we do not know from where we came and to where we will go
when we take our life’s last breath. This makes us pause in our busy life. It is only when
we realize this life is transitory that we start to turn our attention to something lasting.
We begin to wonder about the immortality of our soul and God. Such thoughts create a
stirring within us that awakens us spiritually.

We also realize that the time with our loved ones is precious. We look at those we love,
whether our parents, our children, our spouses, or our friends and beloveds and know
that this moment of time when we are together will not last. It may make us value those
we love more and recognize how important they are to us. We often take those we love
for granted until it is too late, and after they are taken from us, we feel we should have
told them or shown them how much we loved them. Often we are kinder to strangers
than to our own loved ones. Yet, each heart is longing to feel loved and cared for. Each
person needs to hear from loved ones that he or she is loved, valued, and appreciated.
It is not to boost their ego but is an expression of love for one another. As people look
up at the stars at night, they may begin to treasure those with whom they are
witnessing this celestial sky show.

We can gain another spiritual truth from the stars. At times we are awed by how close
they appear. However, billions of people overlook an even greater sight to behold. God
is closer to us than the stars and planets. Everyone is gathering to view the stars, but
how many gather to witness the Lord? God does not need to be seen from millions of
miles away or with a telescope. God is not even one mile away. God is within us, nearer
to us than our beating heart, and is in our very breath. God does not orbit away from us
but instead is appearing within us at every moment of our life. It is only we who do not
take the time to find God.

God is all the planets, stars, universes, and realms of creation combined. What greater
sight is there to behold? Yet how many look for the Creator? We find people going out
in the wee hours of the morning to look at stars, but how many awake in the wee hours
of the morning to look within to find God? We are excited about looking at the stars
outside, but they are only specks of visible light rays radiating to us from millions of
miles away. If we want to see really spectacular sights, we should behold the brilliant
and dazzling colors and light within.

As we gaze at the night sky, let us realize the spiritual messages the stars bring. One, we
are not going to be here forever. We should make the best use of our time. Two, we
should value the loved ones with whom we share our lives. Three, far greater than the
sight of seeing stars without, we can see the glory of God within. Through meditation,
we can enjoy a better spiritual vista than any that are possible in this outer world. As we
sit in meditation to see not only the stars, moon, and sun within, let us also see the Light
of our soul and the Light of God within.

Stress is inevitable but not Un-surmountable!

How can you avoid stress in life? Just impossible! Even if you want to, no body would
give you the chance to be truly peaceful. It is like a virus most active in the air, both
within and without. I have heard even Lata Mangeshkar, after attaining the status of
living legend, for first few seconds of her live concert, is caught by this inner fear that
makes the adrenalin run random.

The best of the sportspersons do go through this, and every corporate executive feels
odd inside before an important presentation on numbers. Faced with a question that
you want to hide inside of you, the stress runs high. There is so much material available
in the Google navigated sites in millions that talks of every possible remedies and way
outs, but I see not a single person at EASE. There seems to be the dis-ease of stress into
the very roots of our techno-society.
Is there any way out?

I think every answer is a relative answer, including mine.

For it completely depends upon the person who is going through it and the urge to rise
above it.

Of course, the remedy of any dis-ease is to find the roots and then treat it and cure it if
it is curable. The root of all stress is our “mindlessness”. The remedy of all stress is in
Mindfulness. As we become more and more conscious of our thoughts, emotions, and
physical acts, we gradually are able to purge or detoxify our inner dross, as the mind
works from the plane of calm (instead of restlessness) it develops the power to
discriminate, to discern, to distill, and strain the unwanted and only focus on those
‘thoughts, emotions, acts” which will make a person happy. This is a gradual process of
inner transformation. Yes, stress is inevitable but we all have the power to surmount it
through transmutation. From negative stress to a state of positive celebration!

'I will come again'

THROUGH Geeta – Sri Krishn stated “I WILL COME AGAIN” whenever TIME requires
SAMBHAWAMI YUGE YUGE.

His consciousness -- absolutely merged with Supreme Consciousness -- had to state this
five thousand years back. Because he (Supreme Consciousness) has faith in humans that
they will learn and live according to Geeta then only they will be prepared and receptive
for next lesson according to “TIME REQUIREMENT”.

Human has learnt Geeta understood Geeta intellectually (not spiritually) …recited it
repeatedly give examples of Geeta sing Geeta make temples of Sri Krishn but never lived
according to it to get connected to Supreme Consciousness for further evolution.

Even then a few like Vivekananda Sri Aurobindo Mahatama Gandhi etc have lived and
made it their spiritual strength ATMABAL and added certain things to take humanity
ahead and made their lives worthwhile and justified their human existence. Why certain
knowledge is available to certain people because Supreme Consciousness wants them to
live according to that and by experiencing it reaching some new clues for further
evolution according to “Time Requirement”. Evolution never gets stuck at one stage.
Geeta is and will be always relevant for the guidance to make human GOD (Superb
Human).

Maha manav HONE KA MANAMANTRA hai – true human being with all the divine
attributes.
If this purpose is not realised then Geeta is just a scripture to read relate and explain it
with minds and understanding of humans of different (various) individualities. This can
go for years and years ….and they can never become deserving and open to the
Supreme Consciousness to get directives for further growth – according to the
requirement of the TIME – today in Kaliyug or to say for this moment. Hence Geeta has
to be LIVED and EXPERIENCED according to the TIME REQUIREMENT.

Krishna Consciousness is always ready to descend in form, for that we have to prepare
ourselves by learning lessons from previous lessons by knowing both apara and para
knowledge + gyan (wisdom). Even though I state this condition of humanity, I say never
mind! True growth never stops, like a river; it finds its own path.

Consciousness is not reversible and never repeated. The irony is that the path shown by
evolved souls is never accepted and followed while they are alive. That is why Dwarka
and all the Vrishni Vansh of Krishn got destroyed.

As time passes by people try to understand the teachings and live in a make believe
world that some Krishn (exactly the same who existed in the past) will come and deliver
humanity, little realizing that it never happens -- will never happen again. The form and
the way of showing the path will definitely come but in completely different garb and
again not understandable and recognizable with ease by anxious and intellectually
inquiring minds.

JISNE KAAM KARANA HOTA HAI WHO KAREGA HEE KYONKI RASTAA AUR TAREEKA TOH
BAHUTON NE BATAA DIYA HAI BAAR BAAR LAGATAAR AB AUR KYA BATANAA.

BAT TOH USS PAR CHALNEY KI HAI. DIMAGI KUSHTIYAN BHI EK TARAH KA BAHANAA HAI
KAAM NA KARNE KA SAARI ZINGADI YAHI GAATE RAHO KE KAUN SAHI HAI KAUN GALAT.

O Human! You always negated evolved souls at the time they were alive….even tortured
them also though mental and physical negation as well as lack of understanding of the
SUBTLETIES they so lovingly try to express through their beings….. But after they are
gone you glorify them, make their statues temples mosques churches worshipping
places and go on repeating their teachings like parrots twisting them according to your
motives. You worship & pray to their created images because images cannot point out
your short comings and you can say or demand whatever you feel like without being
shown the mirror!!!!!!

No truly evolved human of the time resembles the previous one but people (are)
knowingly or unknowingly in the thought of searching or hoping to see the same type of
image….and behavior!!!!!

Every evolved soul is product of the time requirement.

This is the pure science of evolution.

Life......field of actions

Scriptures have called man a ‘kritu ‘ means diligent or hardworking .Human life is
divided in four stages . Brahamcharyashram , grihasthashram , vanprasthashram and
sanyas ashram , all four have word ‘shram’ in them .’Shram ‘ means persistence and
hardwork .It means at any stage of life or age one must be active and energetic .Human
beings are blessed with this grace of god to perform actions thoughtfully . Man dreams
and wishes for himself , after accomplishing he aims at another goal . This is the circle
of life in all stages .To all actions there is a reaction .

Human form is destroyed after death but the seeds of his deeds and misdeeds
are imbibed deep in his soul which is immortal .His deeds are responsible for his form of
rebirth .All living beings come to face the consequences of their actions done in their
previous births .Animals , insects , reptiles and human beings are in the rut of pleasure
and pain seeking forms . All the forms bear the consequences according to their
previous actions but human being is given this chance to dissolve and melt away the
results of his evil deeds .Through an awakening of oneself and awareness of nobility ,the
worth of human life can be understood .By the grace of a Sadguru , a person can
understand the rightful meaning of his human life and can defend himself from the
repercussions of his misdeeds .

All our actions have their reaction and results .All the results , may be good or
bad are bestowed on us in our life time . But the actions which are not reciprocated in
this life are carried to our rebirths .Our life is the sumtotal of all our results and
consequences . We reap what we have sown . It is the strict principle of natue that we
can not get sweet fruit if we have sown thorny shrubs .Our deeds and misdeeds decide
our rebirth .

Indian mythology gives a lot of importance to rebirth and theory of ‘karma ‘.A
human birth is the chance to break this vicious circle of life and death , if the awakening
to this fact is known by the grace of a divine soul , aSadguru .Other wise a soul is
entangled in the rut of life and death , in the results of good and bad deeds and takes
rebirth after rebirth in various forms of life animals , insects or reptiles .

All the actions done by a man has a reaction a consequence which he has to
bear in any of his births .The seeds of his actions are carried along till they bear him
rewards or punishments .

There may be socialism or capitalism or any other form of administration , no

siblings are same , not all the calves give same amount of milk , not all the students of
an excellent teacher are accomplished .Similar kind of facilities and grooming cannot
build similar personalities .People living in the same house cannot enjoy similar levels
.People on the same designation cannot acquire same respect .A person may settle
everything according to him but the kind of arrangement God has thought cannot be
questioned or challenged .

Usually all parents try to do best for their children and think that they are the
creator of their destiny .But creator is somebody else ,he is no human being , he is the
God Himself . Whatever He has written for us , thought for us is surely going to happen
.Nothing is in the hands of human beings .

It is human tendency to blame others for his misfortune and failures . But whatever we
are suffering it is due to our own misdeeds .Some of our actions are immediately
reciprocated while some are added to our account . Our noble deeds and misdeeds are
rewarded accordingly.

Did you hear your Inner Voice?

How many of us have heard the inner voice? The voice of inner master, the voice of
awareness! Caught in the repetitive routine, many of us forget our deepest need of
deep mindful inner introspection and silence which is the very foundational source of
true happiness in life.

Conversation with God starts here. God’s voice is heard when our voice stops. Once we
start practicing mindfulness in daily life and meditation for awakening, the inner voice
tells us in unambiguous way our true purpose of life. Once we follow our inner voice all
our regrets dissolve creating space for contentment and fulfillment of life.

If we read the lives of the great saints and holy masters, we will find that at some point
they heard this Inner Voice and knew first hand the purpose of life.

In the quick pace of the modern life style, where is the time for one’s own self? It is as if
you are sold to others and at times gasp for breath for there is no time to be yourSelf.
But then, each breath is a breath toward the ultimate of this birth. If we walk the path
of life without knowing our final destination, where are we going to reach? Isn’t it true
that before a ship sails, the destination is perfectly chalked out? 99 out hundred times
they reach their port of destination. But ask humans on this planet with perfect
knowledge of science and technology have they set their compass of life?

Just some musing that I wanted to share, and also love you to contribute your valued
thoughts about this Quest!
Develop Enthusiasm in Life

It is a very important aspect in life. Study the life history of successful people and you
would find that one of the ingredients was tremendous enthusiasm or the passion to
live life. One should have passion to live life. It is said, Edmond Hilary who climbed
Mount Everest, failed thrice earlier. Later at a party hosted in his honour in New
Zealand, he looked at the portrait of Mount Everest and humorously remarked, ‘Mt.
Everest has a problem. The problem is, it cannot grow more than about 29,000 feet,
whereas I have the ability to grow in my ability to climb Mt. Everest.’ What he meant
was that he has the ability to grow whereas Mount Everest stood at the height of about
29,000 feet. Look at his passion. In the very next attempt, he scaled Mt. Everest
successfully.

In us there is a ‘lower-self’ called Jeevatma and a ‘higher-self’ called Paramatma. One

can either operate from the ‘lower self’ or from the ‘higher self.’ When one operates
from the ‘lower self,’ one finds his life is not powerful whereas operating from the
‘higher self’ results in the opposite. This is the choice before us.

If one operates from the ‘lower self,’ life opens up as a threat. While operating from the
‘higher self,’ the life opens up as opportunity. Operating from the ‘higher self’
consistently generates enthusiasm.

Any situation viewed as threat is an example of one involving the ‘lower self.’ The ‘lower
self’ operates as an interfering thought or an obstructing thought. The ‘higher self’
operates as a supporting thought, not as an obstruction. In any situation in life, if seen
as opportunity, it is supportive. If seen as an obstruction, it is like a danger or a threat….
it is a function of the ‘lower self.’

Our bodies have an immune system; if it is weak, the body is prone to disease. So too,
we have a psychological immune system. If our psychological immune system is weak …
we are upset, hurt, frustrated. Like genes in our bodies, our minds are also products of
evolution of many years. When our psychological immune system is weak, we are prone
to perceive external situations as dangerous or as obstruction. It only calls for
strengthening the psychological immune system so as to be powerful individuals.

How do you make it powerful? Like how we make the physical body powerful by right
exercising and dieting, so too, the psychological immune system can be made powerful
by not allowing the ‘lower self’ in us to operate... instead we should encourage the
higher centre to operate in our daily lives.

In our lives we operate from acquired knowledge, rather than the cosmic intelligence of
the cell. Where do we draw our identify from? Most of us draw our identify from our
acquired knowledge. Don’t we? Why is it so? Because through acquired knowledge, our
ego is established, our identity is established, our address is established. Whereas in cell
intelligence that we have not created, but are gifted with, our uniqueness is not
established. Ego is established in the ‘I.’ The acquired knowledge is the ‘lower self.’ The
knowledge from which we are born – the cell evolution is the ‘higher self.’

Let us draw our identity from this growing cell that is the ‘higher self.’ But alas, we don’t
trust this. Instead we trust our acquired knowledge. In life we should eliminate our
‘lower self’ and operate from cosmic intelligence. The acquired knowledge will be
supportive in our growth and not obstructive. Understand this distinction.

Acquired knowledge should support the ‘higher self,’ not obstruct it. For example, in a
game of tennis, when you see a ball coming from an opponent, your thought should not
interfere with it and obstruct your spontaneous effort to hit a ball. But if you think, ‘Oh,
I am going to miss it because my history of missed stroke last time’; then acquired
knowledge is obstructing. As a player, you cannot succeed.

Suppose, the ‘higher self’ looks at a ball in a different way - “With a focused awareness I
allow my being that has evolved to guide me in hitting a ball. In case I miss it, the ‘higher
self’ being a learning and evolving being, makes required corrections the next time I face
a ball... but whereas acquired self or the ‘lower self’ creates an image that I am not good
and I am not lucky. This image makes me look at a ball next time as a threat and acts as
an obstruction. The ‘lower self’ is rigid, while the ‘higher self’ is flexible in learning and
growing. I will not allow my static conclusions to decide my action instead allow my flow
to decide a response.”

Mantra is a Sanskrit word made of two words MAN and TRA

MAN means mind & TRA means vibrations or projections. So mantra is a projection of
mind through vibrations. The basic structure of universe is ATOM & basic unit of human
body is cell which is made of billions of atoms.

Each atom has positive mass i.e. nucleus and negatively charged electrons around it
which are in constant state of motion at very high velocity. Because of this velocity
magnetic field is generated.

Every single atom vibrates with a specific frequency irrespective of the fact whether
atom is part of metal (solid), liquid (water), or gas (air), cell or anything else. So every
thing in the universe is vibrating; that is a given fact.
So when one pronounces words they create vibrations & waves in one’s mind similar
to a pebble thrown in calm water in a pond generates waves. So these vibrations awake
the subtle powers in a person. So the effect of whatever we speak falls on ourselves, our
society& even the universe.

As PATANJALI RISHI has quoted “that one should not even curse any body out of
anger or hatred because a part of that comes back to the person who uttered it.” It is
just like NEWTON’S THIRD LAW OF MOTION “to every action there is an equal and
opposite reaction.”

As the sound is a very powerful element. So realizing the significance of this our sages
developed the science of music\ sound (shabd) therapy called biowaves or MANTRA and
collection of mantra is STOTRA. Which being related to ether which is very – very subtle
(ATI-SUKSHAM) and becomes very powerful as the power of subtle is greater than the
gross matter (sthool). So mantras are energy based sounds which awaken the magic with
the help of meditation as CHASE CARTER puts it ‘There is no magic wand but there is
magic with each of us’

“As it is said that the main objective of meditation is to have access into the
subconscious mind where the mental processes occur without our conscious perception
of them. We experience moments of intuition, wisdom &creativity when these
processes flash into our conscious mind.”

Meditation helps the adolescents with ADD-an attention deficit disorder and ADHD
i.e. (–attention deficit hyperactivity disorder as it helps to modify attentional network,
alter dopamine levels, change neural activity and modulate EEG pattern. (A STUDY OF
MINDFULLNESS meditation as a treatment for adults and adolescents with ADD and
ADHD published in journal of attention disorders in U.S.)

Meditation increases our awareness of our breathing pattern & puts us more in touch
with ourselves & the world around us. Breathing, heart rate, & blood pressure are
considerably lowered are the physiological changes observed by meditation.

As for adolescents are concerned it is a very difficult phase for both children as well
as for the parents. On one hand children try to assert their independent identity by
rebelling against all the norms of the society which generally ends into conflict between
parents and children .So to avoid all the confusion and the stress which the child is going
through this transition phase from childhood to adulthood can be smoothened by
gayatri mantra meditation since mantras are the energy based sounds and saying them
produces actual physical vibrations over the time.

Since the hormonal activities are at peak at this age about (12-19 yrs) mantra
meditation helps them to cope better with the changes around them. The effect of
meditation has been proved scientifically as stated below—
It increases our awareness of our breathing pattern and puts us more in touch with
ourselves and the world around us. Breathing, heart rate are considerably lowered are
the physiological changes observed by meditation. One is less emotionally reactive to
environmental stresses because our (‘AMYGDALE ‘has been cooled and slowed down.
One’s concentration, self-awareness, problemsolving and creative capacities are
strengthened Bennett goleman & goleman 2001; goleman 2003)

With mindfulness meditation adolescents learn how to use their mind as allies thus
helping them better to cope up with multitude of problems in their lives. It cultivates
the state of relaxed alertness, feeling of friendliness, and it cultivates the state of
freedom from biological drives.

During mantra meditation the amount of adrenaline hormone being released into
blood stream also goes down. The cortisol levels (a stress hormone) drops and remain
low for a long time even after that. LACTATE another ingredient in blood stream falls
down considerably as .it drops four times more during meditation than just lie down and
relax. Lactate tends to produce feeling of anxiety.

A most prolific meditation researcher HERBERT BENSON wrote that during

meditation an individual’s mental pattern changes so that he breaks free from what I
call “worry cycles”. These are unproductive grooves or circuits that cause the mind to
“play” over and over again almost involuntarily, the same anxieties and health impairing
thoughts.

During mantra meditation the blood flow to the brain increases while the body
relaxes. AGININE VASOPRESSIN (AVP) increases 400% during meditation. The hormone
which increases the mental alertness.

Mantra meditation has more effect on the body than sitting quietly for some time with
self because during meditation you rest your mind on one single thought while during
sitting quietly; allows your thoughts to roam and when the thoughts bounce around
randomly and some thoughts catch your attention and bother you and thus mind sticks
on that disturbing thought. So that is why it can be so unrelaxing sitting quietly.

So living with a depressed adolescent meditation helps to let go the stress.

Meditation with mantra is known as guided meditation. It helps ADOLSCENTS to cope up
with restlessness.

Since, GAYATRI is a universal prayer for everybody, for it calls upon to the supreme to
awaken strength and human intelligence so that it may lead us through spiritual efforts
and for children activities to success. It does not ask for any mercy but for clear intellect.
It can be recited by any body irrespective of cast and creed because we all are children
of one omnipresent GOD.
Since, one can perhaps direct one’s mind at the moments of sadness, frustration, and
anger in a balanced way that is why our RISHIS made it mandatory to initiate children at
adolescent age for gayatri meditation so that they could become good citizens.

The mantra when chanted with concentration the TARANG\VIBRATIONS created by it

will bring a change in the brain. It activates the neurons in the brain and they get fresh
lease of energy. It also has positive effect on 72,000 channels in the body (naadis in
body). Naadi means the channels through which the energy flows. Japa only awakens
one’s latent energy. It has no relation with that GOD \ GURU would be pleased, but the
truth is that it only awakens the sleeping parts of one’s own brain. When gayatri is
meditated upon ALPHA WAVES start getting awakened in the brain thus activates the
brain.

It helps to develop SELF ESTEEM and FAITH in SELF. SELF ESTEEM is the experience
of being competent to cope up with basic challenges of life and being worthy of
happiness. Self esteem issue is very important throughout the teen years it certainly
may have its ups and downs but much of this is a normal reaction to all the physical,
emotional and social changes taking place.

As mahatma Gandhi said “sanan shareer ki shudhi ke liye hai to prarthna man aur
atma ki shudhi ke liye hai” so prayers and meditation is must for children.

I conclude this topic with a poem by THE PROPHET KAHLIL GIBRAN about children

Your children are not your children, they are the sons and daughters of life’s longing for
itself, they come through you but not from you, And though they are with you yet they
belong not to you, You may give them your love but not your thoughts, For they have
their own thoughts, You may house their bodies but not their souls, For their souls dwell
in the house of tomorrow which you can-not visit even in your dreams,

You may strive to be like them but seek them not to make like you. For life goes not
backward nor tarries with yesterday. You are the bows from which your children as
living arrows are sent forth.

As per our yogic-science meditation effects the functioning of IDA and PINGLA naadis
i.e. balance between emotions and actions. And also regulates the proper functioning of
SUSHUMNA naadi i.e. the autonomous nervous system.

As Swami VIVEKA NANDA said that human body is temple of living god, so every
effort should be made to beautify a them physically, mentally, emotionally and
spiritually with the help of yoga, pranayaam and meditation and prayers.
As the adolescents constitute 22% of the total population of the country and are the
future of the nation. So every effort should be made to channelise their energy toward
building the nation so that they become sensible citizens of tomorrow.

To say 'Pranam'.....

Pranam is poorn – absolute. It is the expansion of truth. Namsakar is naman - bowing

your head in welcome. It is a form of salutation and respect.

Pranam is Pranav, it is Om (omkaar) and Om is the only truth. Pranam is the expansion
of this truthful soul.

It is the dimension of the soul – may your good qualities come into me and may mine
get assimilated into you – effortlessly.

Everyone’s soul is truthful, illumined and blissful, Pranam is its expansion.

The ‘pra’ sound of Pranam signifies Nature. We should be identical (samroop) to Nature
and may we only give and give. Pranam is also Pranayam the sound of ‘nha’ cannot be
pronounced in any other country. The correct pronunciation of ‘nha’ is there only in the
devnagari script -sanskrit and some other Indian languages. And the mere pronunciation
of this produces a vibration between the brows and the ridge of the nose which itself is
a yogic kriya (act) through which effortlessly and automatically the ida-pingala the solar-
lunar energies get balanced. Just pronouncing ‘nha’ produces effects similar to
Prananyam.

The sound ‘m’ in Pranam is symbolic of ‘naman’ –bowing in humility and reverence
hence the full meaning of Pranam is expansion of soul with humility. Expansion of a
truthful, fearless, doubtless, non-dual and liberated soul.

When there is expansion of a truthful soul and blissful life breath (prana) then
automatically all humans will reflect these qualities. Just like darkness is destroyed when
there is light, because this is the quality of everyone’s soul. This is the truth, only
humans have forgotten it.

When the mahamantra – supreme mantra of Pranam will reverberate in their ears, then
automatically the soul will be awakened, true determinations – truthful pledges (satya
sankalps) will be ignited. These true sankalps will give strength to right conduct at the
right time (karms) which will become steps for the creation of satya yug –the age of
truth.
Gandhiji gave the mahamantra (supreme mantra) of non-co-operation and non-violence
and India attained freedom. Similarly, the mahamantra of Pranam will give full power
for non-co-operation with falsehood and imperfection.

It will cut all imperfections which are not according to the Laws of Nature by being the
divine discus (Sudarshan Chakra).

Ego and Patience – Silent Killers

Waiting for others to live up to our expectation is a waste of time.

Reflect on this story.

A family of tortoise went on a picnic. They packed food and set out to a place they had
selected… behind the hills. When they reached the spot, they unpacked their picnic
basket. They realized they had forgotten to bring salt. Food without salt is tasteless.

They had a conference to decide who should go back and get salt. After a lot of
discussion, the youngest tortoise was chosen, as he was faster than the others.

The youngest objected on the ground that before he could come back the others might
eat the snacks. But they assured him they would wait for him to come back with salt. Six
months passed, but the youngest tortoise did not turn up. So the rest of the family
decided to open the basket and eat the snacks. When they opened the snack basket, the
little tortoise jumped out of the bushes and screamed,

“Look, I knew you would not wait till I came back. For six months I have been hiding in
these bushes to make sure you would not eat without me. Now my suspicion has been
confirmed, and I am not going to get the salt.”

Some of us are exactly like our suspicious tortoise: we waste our own time waiting for
people to live up to our expectations. Instead of doing the right thing ourselves, we wait
for others to act in ways we expect them to. We waste our time waiting for others to
live according to our expectations. We have not learned to enjoy doing what our
intuitive judgement tells us is the right thing.

Is stress related to egoism?

Yes, very much. Egoism implies our conviction that we are more important than others,
and our beliefs are the truth. Ego means our point of view is more important than that
of others, more important than even truth. So we are trapped within our point of view.
Not only are we arrogant about our point of view, we believe in our infallibility. This
arrogance creates stress. Being stuck to our point of view creates stress.

Reflect on this.

A husband and wife were quarrelling. Each kept screaming at the other. The house was
a living hell. Then the husband walked out of the house. The couple’s teenager son,
seeing his father walk out, asked his mother, “Is Daddy going to be back?”

“Yes, he will be back in half an hour,” replied the mother.

“Damn,” said the youngster in obvious disappointment, “I thought of eating his dessert.”

When self-interest or ego prevails in our mind, we begin to compete with everyone for
everything, no matter what the cost. We do not see beyond our self gratification.

Be playful and flexible. If you need to work long hours in the office, enjoy it, play with it.
Convert the work place into a fun place with commitment.

Then you don’t work for joy, work itself becomes joy.

Drop the ‘I’ and ‘mine’ and live in the ‘We’. The universe is one. It is, and has, a unity.
Don’t live in the division of the ego. Without the ego, we experience a beautiful
connectedness with everything else in the great chain of being: with the birds, the stars,
the sky and the trees. You can envision them to be different parts of your body, or
yourself to be part of one or more of them. It is this connectedness that is known as
‘Nirvana’. Reality is unity and illusion is division.

What lies at the root of impatience?

One has to cultivate the state of being patient. We have to trust the universe with its
own ways of opening and closing windows of opportunity and doors to happiness and
prosperity. We have to learn to be patient. A boy loved mangoes. He bought the best of
seeds and planted the mango seed. Every morning he would dig the earth to see if it had
sprouted. In this process he never allowed the seed to sprout. Our impatience works in
the same stupid way.

Impatience is a result of lack of trust. We trust our ego and not the miracle of life. Since
we depend on our ego, we take for granted the way nature reveals her mysteries. Our
imagination projects a reality and we don’t recognize anything else as real. We are lost
in our subjective reality.

Patience is a spiritual quality and discipline. Patience is predicated on the faith that God
knows better than we ever can hope to know what is good for us. Impatience, on the
other hand, asserts, “God should be clever enough to let me have things my own way
because, after all, what I want is paramount.” Patience accepts that God’s will is greater
than my will.

Stress: Yes, But Why the Suffering?

Where Ignorance is, there suffering too must come;

Thy grief is a cry of darkness to the Light

SRI AUROBINDO (In Savitri, Book 6, Canto 2, p. 443)

Stress is today an over-stressed word. We have been brainwashed into believing that we
are all under stress, which is a terrible monster. Therefore, we live constantly under the
threat that unless we undergo the stress of doing something drastic to overcome stress,
we are doomed to die early of at least one of the ever-growing family of stress-related
disorders. Making so serious a business of bringing some cheer into our lives is hardly
designed to make us cheerful. Physiologically, stress is inevitable so long as we are alive.
Every time a hungry lion faces a deer, both the animals show the stress response. The
body responds to stress in a manner that helps in facing the stressful situation. In the
animal world, facing the stressful situation needs physical exertion. Both the lion and
the deer have to run; one to get a meal, and the other to escape. The stress response
makes sure that the heart and lungs work hard to deliver the extra oxygen, and that the
liver releases the extra glucose, which the exercising muscles need. After a bout of
running under stress, either the lion gets the meal, or the deer escapes and the lion
gives up. In either case, the stress is over for both of them. Human beings also respond
to stress in a similar manner. But human stress differs from animal stress in two
important ways. First, human stress generally does not require physical exertion.
Secondly, human stress does not come in short bouts – it has a tendency to last long.
The stressful situations may keep changing, but stress is constant and continuous. What
fluctuates is only the intensity of stress. The result of these two differences is that the
faster heart beat or the higher blood glucose levels do not serve any useful purpose, and
secondly, these changes become persistent. The result is high blood pressure, heart
disease or diabetes.

It may be natural to ask whether human beings are doomed to suffer because of
the mismatch between their stress and the stress response. Fortunately, the suffering is
not inevitable, because human beings have also been given the mental ability to think
and go to the root cause of the stress. Human beings suffer because their egos make
them self-opinionated and self-centred. Human beings suffer because their desires are
endless. Human beings suffer because they are worried and insecure about the future.
Animals have none of these problems. Human beings do not have to descend to the
level of animals to overcome stress. Instead, human beings should use their capacity to
rise to a higher level, at which also all the so-called human problems disappear. Viewed
from that higher plane, the ego barriers dissolve, desires boil down to basic needs, and
faith transfers the burden of the future to the Divine. Rising to a higher level of
consciousness needs realizing our inherent divinity, and manifesting more of it than we
generally do. The tragedy of man is that he is half animal and half divine – neither here
nor there. That is what makes man the most miserable creature on earth. The glory of
man is that he does not have to stay where he is. He has the capacity to use life to rise in
consciousness, and rise in consciousness to enjoy life. Thus, physiologically, stress is
inevitable; but spiritually, stress is unnecessary. The sooner the deeper truths of
existence are understood, the greater is the ascent in a lifetime, and longer is the life
spent in peace and joy. Life has been compared to a cup of tea in which the sugar has
not been stirred. It is sometimes only towards the bottom of the cup that one discovers
the sugar, and regrets not having taken the trouble to stir up the tea. In the same way,
instead of going on living a life full of stress under the illusion that stress is unavoidable,
it is better to stir up life and discover its sweetness. Life is difficult, life may even seem
unfair, but life can be beautiful.

The Significance of the Worship of Sri Krishna

To understand the significance of the worhip of Sri Krishna, we first have to know who
Sri Krishna is and what constitutes His real self. The significance of His worship rests
upon His remarkable divine personality. The shastras define the etymological meaning
of the word Krishna as follows,

'The word Krishna is composed of the root 'krish' meaning 'bhu', the shelter of all
existence, and the word 'na', meaning 'nivriti' or the form of supreme bliss. Combined,
they form the word Krishna, which signifies Param Brahma, the Supreme Absolute
Truth.'

The word Krishna means 'self-existing bliss.' The Vedanta has desined this as anandam
brahm, and:

Taittiriya Upanishas says 'He is that ras (anand or bliss). One who drinks that ras,
become full of bliss.'

In another sense, the word Krishna means 'krish' - to attract (karshan) and 'na' - giving
bliss. The one who attracts all and give them bliss, and who is blissful Himself, is known
as Krishna.
In other words, Krishna means 'all attractive' and 'all-bliss-giving'. He cannot be all
attractive without being superexcellent in everyrespect. When He exhibits His aspect of
being smaller than the smallest, Krishna is known as Parmatma. When He exhibits His
aspect of being greater than greatest, He is known as Brham. Then again, reconciling
both His anu (microcosmic) and vibhu (macrocosmic) natures and accepting a medium-
sized Form, Sri Krishna performs wondeul pastimes of infinte variegatedness.

Knowers of the truth call that non-dual, absolute knowledge tattva- the Absolute Truth.

This non-dual knowledge is referred to by the words Brahm, Parmatma or Bhagavan.

The word Brahm signifies the largest (Brihattva); Parmatma , the smallest (anutva); and
Bhagavan, the all opulent (Sarvaishvaryamayatva: possessing all riches, all strength, all
fame, all beauty, all knowledge and all renunciation). In other words, this encompasses
the largest, the smallest, the middle and everything else in existence. The word
Bhagavan reveals all the different aspects of the Absolute Truth. The gyani experiences
that non dual tattva as Brahm, the yogi realises Him as Parmatma and the bhakt sees
Him as Bhagavan. Bhagavan manifests infinite pastimes in infinite Forms, among which
Sri Krishna is His original Form (svayam rupa).

The Healing Effect

Clambering up the career and stepping up ladders can be exhausting. It is not only
exhausting, it isolating as well. People relate to each other as workers, demanding
results and there is no time for nourishing human aspects. Apparently there is a major
health issue facing urban people that is just not being addressed.

There was a wide research in England and it was found that people at least should get
eight sincere hugs a day for their health and well being. Brits were found to be missing
out on 2,808 hugs a year -54 per week -and it could be damaging their health.

What is true in England is true for all hard working people in big cities. People are so
engrossed in achieving their targets that they have forgotten that they have a heart –
not the physical one but an emotional reservoir. There is an emotional need to touch
somebody or be touched by them.

Now this research says, forget a balanced diet, regular exercise and health checks. As
well as our five daily portions of fruit and veg we should be getting at least eight hugs a
day to ensure the release of the feel-good hormone Oxytocin.

Something about that warm-and-fuzzy feeling when giving or getting a cuddle promotes
feelings of happiness and well-being. These days professionals probably spend more
time cradling their cell phone, computer mouse or iPod, than a pet or a loved one.
It was Osho who first started hugging people generously way back in the sixties and now
the Osho people hug each other with abundance and have found what a wonderful
therapy it is.

Says Osho: "Analysis is the way of the mind, hugging is the way of the heart. The mind is
the cause of all diseases, and the heart is the source of all healing.

Man needs to be needed. It is one of the most fundamental needs of human beings.
Love is the greatest therapy there is. Hugging is only a gesture of love, of warmth, of
caring. the very feel of the warmth flowing from the other person melts many illnesses
in you, melts the ice-like, cold ego. It makes you again a child.”

“The psychologists are well aware of the fact now that unless a child is hugged, kissed,
he misses some nourishment. Just as the body needs food, the soul needs love. You can
give to the child all the physical needs, all the physical comforts, but if hugging is missing
the child will not grow in a wholesome being.”

Maybe we could all benefit from a hug once in a while, and we shouldn't be afraid to
offer them either, now it's "officially" good for your health.

The knowledge of the sub-conscience

It is only by removing the layers of the subconscious that one can

realise that the light or noor which is present in all is the essence
(tattva) of oneness.

All (each and every) action and reaction of human for which he does
not know the reason, are regulated by the subconscious. A person who
is fully absorbed in dhyan yog is aware of this entire process.
Because through the (sadhana) penance of dhyan he can open the layers
of the subconscious and reach the emptiness within just like peeling
the skins of an onion. This emptiness within is his priceless
treasure (nidhi), and the capital of truth (satya ki punji).

The intellect is not aware of the sub-conscious collection. But the

information of truth that is there in a completely empty mann, its
knowledge is always there for a dhyan yogi because his worldly mind
and subconscious mind have become one. It is here that true wisdom is
awakened.
All the messages and instructions that are there in seed form in the
mind of such a visionary with the capacity of dhyan (dhyanyukt), he is
completely aware of them but not involved or engrossed in them. This
is the pinnacle of detachment and surrender. Such simplicity is
automatically and effortlessly is the source of encouragement to
establish the truth and divinity of the laws of Nature and provides
the force (shakti) to act according to the time requirement.

Through the worldly science (apara knowledge) of Psychology we can

only reach 5-6 levels of the subconscious mind whereas there are 49
levels which are known as 49 maruts in the Veds. Only divine
Universal energies can reach these, which inturn can be ignited only
through dhyan yog. But the greatest energy is pure and unsullied
unselfish (nishchal) divine love which is an infallible medicine (ram
ban aushadhi) that has been given to empty each others subconscious
mind. So that in that emptiness, only THAT remains, LIVES.

God, in the form of love is kept in the subconscious mind akin to a

seed in the womb of the Earth, which blossoms by getting nutrition
through the love, karm and truth of your body mind and soul.

When a seed is sown, the Earth is tilled, made soft and prepared so
that it can get fresh air manure and water. Similarly, through the
penance of dhyan, the subconscious is to be prepared to receive the
seed of positive sankalps (pledges). After the seed is sown, there
should be no use of force (zabardasti) to make it grow faster nor are
we to sit idle thinking that it is sure to sprout. Along with
fulfilling our worldly duties, we have to be fully aware when the seed
needs nourishment, when it is to be protected from unfavourable
circumstances, we have to keep constant awareness (dhyan) towards
these. Nature’s Law is the same for everyone. It is complete, simple,
effortless, karm in full surrender. That is why when a seed sprouts,
it gives so much joy. Tender small leaves, branches, flowers, fruits,
each stage is full of joy. All the time absolutely aware of its own
power –

Vahi jisske liye prabhu ne banaya

Ussiki kripa se uga poornta paya

That for which god made you

Nurtured by his benevolence, attaining perfection –whole and complete.

Hey manav, pooch apne aap se apni hi sacchai
Vahi to hai sari ki sari hi khudai

Ab samay nahi raha baat ghumane ka

Bina baat apne ko bargalane ka

Jankar apana satya chhanto andhkar

Aur karo prem aur prakash ka prasar

Ho sadaa saath satya ka saar

Karm ka aadhaar

Aur prem apaar

Jo kare jagat ujiyar

Yahin swarg hai yahin satya hai

Bahut sunder hai dharti hamari

Aao isse aur sunder banayein

Sajayein sanwarein nikharein

Yahi hai Pranam ka satya.

(Ask yourself your truth, which is the essence. Now is not the time
for elaboration, procrastination or living in illusion. Know your
truth, eradicate your ignorance………

And become a medium for spreading Love and Light. May the essence of
truth, the base of karm and endless love always be with you that
illumine the world. Heaven is here, Truth is here. Our land is very
beautiful, come let us make it more beautiful, decorate it, nurture it
and improve it. This is Pranam’s truth).

Mind power vs Soul power

The difference between mind power and mann ki shakti is like East and
West. Mind power can be developed by scientific techniques and
formulas (yoga, reiki, pranic and many more)
But mann ki shakti is bestowed to the human chosen by Supreme
consciousness. It happens by the Grace of Universal Life Force. (brahm
shakti)

There is no word for Mann ki shakti in western scientific knowledge.

Because they know just body, soul and mind. They do not know about
Mann (essence). Development of mind power makes you power hungry,
(tantric). It can develop intuition to a certain extent. You know
things. But it cannot make you the medium to manifest Universal
Consciousness, which is just creation perfection and destruction of
imperfection.

Mind power and mind function can be measured, changed, guided, imposed
etc.etc by so many sophisticated scientific gadgets invented by
western minds. Gadgets are again product of mind as books cassettes
etc. etc. they are product and part of worldly acquired knowledge-
continuation of scientific inventions.

But mann ki shakti is continuation of ever growing Universal

Consciousness. Mann ki shakti is Soul Power (force), Pran force. Force
of Liberated Soul. Universal Life Force. Power of pure soul energy.

The person who has attained this will be also growing every moment
which will be the toughest job even for the quickest mind to catch up.
It is

nav nit nutan ambudmayee (jo roz nai ho kar khile jaise sari prakriti
roz nai hoti hai, ugi hoti hai)

I.e. is new like nature everyday, is in constant growth., like nature.

It is always gained by Avatars (highest evolved specie, human ) of Bharat.

SADGURU - A MENTOR

A disciple of Swami Mahavir asked Him “What is the ultimate life in

human beings ? “ He answered “ a saint , a yogi “. Next he enquired
“What is the identification of a Yogi ? “ Swami ji answered “ A human
soul who is awakened and realized . A human soul who enlightens other
fellow beings , who gives them awareness of themselves and their
purpose of life . A saintly form who motivates and encourages other
human beings to live their life to the fullest which is accomplished
and contented .

Psychologists say that many people , most of them live their life for
20 – 22 years rest they are compromising dispirited to their
circumstances , situations and people around them . This dishearted
adjustment goes till they are 70 or 80 years . They live a fake life
which is devoid of happiness , content and awareness .They show case
their own lives as being and showing happy whilst truth is opposite
and different .

Appearance of a Sadguru , a Mentor in a person’s life can change the

total vision , purpose of life . The dismayed soul is led to utter
happiness , content , fearless and love for one self and all . A
Sadguru leads life near to radiance and warmth of God . A person is
swayed away from lust , greed , anger , jealously and hatred towards
love , piousness , generosity , faith , trust and wisdom. His heart
and mind suggest for the welfare of the human beings and nobility
becomes the aim in life . Adjusting in the worldly and the spiritual
affairs well He leads the same life with zeal and enthusiasm . All his
actions become noble deeds and his company is of pious people .His
thoughts are guided and he welcomes wisdom and intellect in his
thoughts and words . A total transformation of mind , emotions ,
thinking is experienced along with a healthy body and satisfied soul .

Hence, a Sadguru , a Mentor guides us from our darkness to our light

illuminating our path , our journey of life.

Quality of Thoughts

My thoughts don’t work by themselves automatically, but I pay a lot

attention to creating the quality thoughts that I want. Sometimes we
develop aches and pains all over our bodies, because of our thoughts.
Some people feel so dependent that when somebody leaves them or
somebody dies, they become trapped in waste thoughts, leading to one
negative thought after another.

Inside, we should have truth and non-violence, instead of falsehood

and violence.

Understand that there are four types of thoughts: negative, waste,

ordinary and positive.

• Negative thoughts drain our energy, bringing a loss to oneself and others.
• Waste thoughts are just a habit: being distracted, looking here and
there, thinking about the past or the future. Waste thoughts are born
from our own desires and attachments. Learn how to remain in the
present moment. The past is the past and the future will be good.

• Ordinary thoughts are also habitual. They are not wasteful, but
we’re not actually transforming anything.

• Positive thoughts are filled with so much power, and they emerge
when you realise who you are and who you belong to. With that
realisation and awareness, negative and waste thoughts finish. Don’t
even think ordinary thoughts, but keep the aim of having elevated
thoughts, a high quality of thoughts. When thoughts are pure and
positive, that leads to peace and then to power.

A high quality of life means to look inside, turn your face towards
God and say, “I want to be that high quality of human being, so that
others in my life can take inspiration to become the same.” When I
keep courage and receive help from the One up above, then things start
to feel easy.

Ten points to remember always

1. Whatever you think and believe truthfully becomes the reality of

life in time. Constant meditation and mental repetition of the SAME
THOUGHT (positive or negative) same word same message with centered
state – total peace and calm – programmes the human mechanism to
behave and Act according to the Nature of the thought, Gunas or
attributes of the message. Spiritual journey is not a Circus. The
laws of Nature and outcomes of your Nature…. Situations stem from the
thinking pattern. Thoughts become reality in time.

2. Your outer happenings reflect your inner thought pattern…work on

yourself. Lift the heaviness of negative thinking; clear all the
baggage from the sub-conscious. Nothing should be under the
carpet..Clarity leads to purity and purity leads to divinity.

• Spirituality is not to be considered as a cult religion or

philosophy dogma etc etc…it is not to be mocked.

• Pure unconditional love has all the powers to heal

• Be centered for growth

• Spirituality is not a matter of convenience or discussion or debates

• It is one’s own personal truth and way of relating to truth.

• Spirituality is a path of going through life truthfully….it

is truth of human existence as related to supreme design (perfect
pattern of cosmic order).

• Spirituality is as truly spiritual way of living and growing

towards the next leap of growth for a quantum leap of evolved jeev or
specie….towards next ladder of evolution.

3. Be out of guilt and fear loving yourself as you are. Everyone is

endowed with some special individuality.

4. Respect your priorities stick to them otherwise others will use you
for their benefit cause and priority.

5. Positive attitude - be centered for growth and focused on your

thoughts of transformation.

6. Harmony and rhythm in life try to create harmony everywhere all

around you with relationships elders and acquaintances, understanding
your true being and true self.

7. Know the difference between self-esteem and ego. Never compromise

on self esteem and never nurture Ego. Knowing the difference is
wisdom. Ego gets hurt and self-esteem takes it as a challenge to
improve more, gets inspired without resentment ill feelings of hatred
and revenge.

8. Positive Affirmations – derive maximum utility pleasure joy growth

from whatever you have or whatever you are provided with. Release all
the past baggage.

9. Goal setting – to be very clear about what you want from life
luxury pleasure growth transformation nothing is bad or good what
gives you joy and peace – that is your path.

10. BE TRUTHFUL – try to follow the eternal Laws of Nature, get

connected to Universal energies and have full faith and surrender to
perfect cosmic design that is governed by supreme intelligence that
knows the best for every creation. TRUTH LOVE KARM AND LIGHT IS THE
PATH TO GET TUNNED TO UNIVERSAL LIFE FORCE.

Gayatri - The essence of Vedas and it's effect on the body

Gayatri the essence of Vedas. This is the most powerful of all the
mantras & is often referred to as mother of all the mantras. This is
also called as guru-mantra. The syllabus of this mantra are said to
positively effect all the chakras: that is the energy centers thus
regulate the| “prana” through all the chakras & rejuvenating all the
energy centers.

They say that all the knowledge of Vedas has come from this mantra
.hence called as Mahamantra. {Yaurveda chapter 36 verse3}.As per
Brahadaranka upnishd gayatri is based on truth & truth is based on
strength; strength is breath & breath is based on breath. So Gayatri
protects TRA: {wealth} GYA;{ breath} of those who speak it with
devotion. It has 3 parts .first part a devotee sings the glory of the
ALMIGHTY the omnipresent GOD. THE SECOND PART THE SADHAK prays to seek
HIS blessings. & in the third part is for purification of mind & soul
& thus to lead a purposeful life as said below:-

“oh , creator of universe; we meditate upon thy supreme splendor. May

thy radiant power, illuminate our intellect destroy our sins &lead us;
in the right direction”.

Even silently thinking, speaking or chanting, Gayatri mantra

influences the physical body; clears the emotional body leading one to
the inner heart thus helps one to lead one a balanced life. To chant
Gayatri it purifies the chanter & to listen Gayatri it purifies the
listener.it exhorts one to tune oneself to the cosmic mind & it’s laws
of DHARMA. Our energy centers, levels & systems are activated by means
of breath which is drawn through nostrils. So during the recitation of
this mantra even while doing mansic-japah breath is automatically
regulated & all the energy centers are activated even at very subtle
level.. It has been proved scientifically that it works on multitude
of ways which align the energies, magnetic currents biochemistry &
brain wave pattern on a very subtle level. Thus helping one to strike
balance between body, mind & soul. It is also scientific, practical &
antibiotic in nature. It helps to increase the capacity of brain to
perceive more.. The mind antenna picks up from the reservoir of energy
in the subtle world as written by WLLHELM REICH 1897 -1957 the
universe is permeated by a primal, mass free phenomenon that is called
Organ Energy. This balances electromagnetic rhythm, & energy currents
in the body with prana-the vital force. The most beautiful aspect of
this mantra is that it can be recited by any –body at any time and at
any place though morning 4-8a.m & evening 4-8p,m is the best time.
Even manas japa gives equal benefit. It can be recited 3’9 or 18 times
when pressed for time. Since it has 24 syllabus so it activates 24
divine qualities in a devotee .particular letter has a particular
meaning & is related to a particular part of the body as shown in the
figure .even the westerns have found that the correct recitation of
with proper accent as described in VEDAS produce certain vibrations
that make the atmosphere visibly illuminated known as Brahm-parkash.
It dispels all the fears & anxieties & strengthens faith in self.
Gayatri should be recited while meditating upon the fact that

Every thing is with in oneself and thus one should keep and develop
confidence in self.

Gyatri is synonymous with sacred intellect. Since, sorrows may be

individual or at macro level but their root lies in tainted intellect
so in this MANTRA one prays to GOD for attaining a pure & taintless
intellect. This mantra has the rare capacity to attract DIVINE cosmic
powers in the psyche of a mature devotee.

THE INNER MEANING&ANALYSIS OF THE FIRST WORD AUM

A-emerges from the throat originating in the region of naval.

U-rolls over the tongue.

M-ends on lips.

A-waking; U-dreaming; M-sleeping;

So, it is the sum &substance of all the words that can emanate from
the human throat. AUM is the primordial fundamental sound symbolic of
universal absolute.
BHU BHUVAH SVAH

Earth atmosphere beyond atmosphere

Past present future

Morning noon evening

Tamas rajas satav

Gross subtle casual

Thus by uttering these three words the chanter contemplates the glory
of GOD that illumines the three worlds or regions of experience. The
last 5- words constitute the prayer for final liberation through the
awakening of one’s own true intelligence.

The word meaning of gayatri;-

OM---the paranav---the word that is GOD almighty is the primordial

fundamental sound symbolic of universal absolute.

BHUH---god who is eternal embodiment of vital or spiritual energy.

BHUVAH—god who is the creator &destroyer of suffering.

SAVAHA—god who is independent embodiment of happiness.

TAT—the eternal god.

SAVITHUR—divine sun [the ultimate light of wisdom.]

VARENEYAM—the supreme GOD

BHARGO—that light that bestows wisdom, bliss& everlasting life.

DHEVESYA—the light of effulgent god/ divine grace.

DHEEMAHI—we meditate/ contemplate.

YONAHA—be directed by the lord.

PRACHODYAT—towards illumination/ enlightenment.

Thus it is a unique.combination of three—concepts of stotra i.e.
singing the praise &glory of GOD, dhayana & prarthna.as described
below:-

Oh’ almighty god

Embodiment of vital spiritual energy

Destroyer of suffering, embodiment of happiness

You are bright like sun, destroyer of sufferings

Your divinity may purify us

And guides us on the right path.

Disciplined Mind the Pass to enter Heaven!

Mind is indeed mysterious! One door to both hell and heaven!!

It is not just fancy wish to be in the heaven that we get a chance to

enter through that gate, it is only the disciplined mind that has the
pass to enter!

To discipline the mind is almost like taming a wild horse! But one who
has the right intention and right dedication resolves to tread the
path of the Wise and cultivate mindfulness and meditative awareness of
its intrinsic peace and bliss. This is indeed the path which opens up
as one treads, WALKS. As Buddha said " there is no path, the path is
created by walking". The most important quality of a true seeker is
Patience and perseverance. Those who with patience and perseverance
continue this journey to the world within, to the subtle world of
Light and delightful silence, are the blessed ones who are sure to
reach and feel the reality that heaven is only a sate of Mind in union
with the Divine.

Just stop what ever you are doing for a while, become aware of your
Inner, and also peripheral and feel the bliss of the silence just for
a while. Small catnap meditation, would take you to the state of peace
that only YOU can give to YOURSEL!
Energy Game

The whole knowledge is just a few sentences and everything is just

detailing. The mechanism of the Universe works on energy game survival
of the fittest.

Human is small replica of the Universe – human mind is for the cause
of creation perfection and destruction. Human always thrives energy
from every source. But specially his mind tuning has trained him to
get energy by playing one-up game.

Human sucks energy from another human being, by one up game. HIS INNER
WILL –TO RULE TO WILL – Gratification of senses.

By taking energy from another human we have to bear the karm of that
Human – Energy.

Until human stops taking energy from another human being, his miseries
will never end. He has to stop taking energy, sucking energy form
another human being because this is not the purest source of energy.
The imperfections of that body and mind from which energy is being
taken will also come along with that temporary energy sucking. That
imperfection is karm cycle.

The main thing is to keep your own mind and body toxin free so
automatically you get connected to HIGHEST source of energy for your
bliss and happiness that higher source is the purest source and then
you are guided by the purest source and help yourself releasing all
fruits of karm toxins effortlessly spontaneously.

When a human take energy from another human he gets tied up. If taken
directly from DIRECT Source. Human gets liberated. To be liberated is
the destiny of human – to uncoil one’s karm collection usually it
takes the whole life so why take the toll of others karma by taking
energy form the.

Yes if you have uncoiled yourself from your karm cycle. Then
definitely help others happily. – Unconditional love makes you so.

But to be deserving for helping others – be omnipotent, powerful, Para Shakti.

Play the game of life whole-heartedly, joyfully spiritually all the

love unconditionally.
Wanted: Selfless Service

My children, haven’t you seen a rainbow spread across the sky? What a
wonderful sight! Seeing a rainbow, children begin bouncing up and down
with excitement. Seeing a rainbow, we feel totally refreshed and
peaceful. Apart from this, the rainbow has significance. A rainbow is
formed from the confluence of seven colours. This is the source of its
beauty. It teaches us to accept the differences of the diverse faiths,
languages and cultures in our country. If we can do this, humanity
itself will be given primary importance, and all of humankind will be
able to progress hand in hand. Then, like the rainbow, the world will
also be a wonderful place.

We need to transcend our differences. Only if we focus on the inner

power that unifies all beings will we truly become as one. The rainbow
appears only for a few minutes. Regardless, during that brief period
it bestows so much peace and joy. Just like the rainbow, human life is
also fleeting. Understanding this, we should spend some time every day
helping our neighbours and others in our community. With each selfless
action we perform, we will acquire more and more energy and charm.

We should not fight in the name of borders, religion or caste. We

should use our brief lives for trying to feel and remove the pain of
the suffering. So many people are suffering: women who have been
exploited, those who cannot afford to buy painkillers, people who
cannot work due to illness... Their families suffer from want. The
world needs people who are willing to help such unfortunate ones.

Amma has a request. My children, if you have even a little compassion,

you should work at least a half an hour extra every day for the sake
of such people. The money thus earned can be used to help them. Your
efforts should be organized. Some people must come forward to work
selflessly. The need of the hour is collective effort. Only by working
together can we achieve our goals.

Limitless God vs. Limited Intellect

Once an inquisitive submitted before me his query, "I am a

non-believer of God. On the insistence of my friend, I came to listen
to your spiritual discourse. However, I gather from your discourse
that you provide scientific, philosophical, and scripture-sanctified
answers to all questions. Therefore, I also desire to submit my query
for your consideration. My question is: Does God really exist?
Because, what I feel is, when scientific knowledge was at its infancy
and people took to blind beliefs, they developed the concept of God.
But now it is not necessary to believe in that concept."

In reply to this query, I provided him with the following solution

from logical, philosophical and scientific perspectives...

On listening to your views, I remember what Friedrich Nietzsche used

to say. Giving the clarion call against the existence of God, he said,
“Do we smell nothing as yet of the divine decomposition? Gods, too,
decompose. God is dead. God remains dead. And we have killed him…” The
one who nurtured such bitter, ill-feelings about God, what happened to
him in the end? Nietzsche turned mad, was admitted to a mental asylum
and he died there.

There was another non-believer of the similar category–

Lenin. On December 3, 1905, in one of the newspapers of Russia, Novaya
Zhizn, an article on his views about non-existence of God was
published. Condemning religion he wrote, “Religion is one of the forms
of spiritual oppression which everywhere weighs down heavily upon the
masses of the people, over burdened by their perpetual work for
others, by want and isolation. Impotence of the exploited classes in
their struggle against the exploiters just as inevitably gives rise to
the belief in a better life after death as impotence of the savage in
his battle with nature gives rise to belief in gods, devils, miracles,
and the like. Those who toil and live in want all their lives are
taught by religion to be submissive and patient while here on earth,
and to take comfort in the hope of a heavenly reward… Religion is
opium for the people. Religion is a sort of spiritual booze, in which
the slaves of capital drown their human image, their demand for a life
more or less worthy of man.” His views propagated in each and every
house, in every nook and corner, throughout Russia. Those who believed
in the tenets of Communism continued to condemn God and ridiculed
religion to their heart's content. But, what was the fate of the one
who originated the principle of Communism? Lenin met with a severe
attack of paralysis and lived like a lump of flesh, down on the bed,
totally helpless.

Next example comes that of Chaarvaak. He exclaimed thus–

Yaavajjeevet sukham jeevet, rinam kratvaa ghritam peebet;

Bhasmibhootasya dehasya, punaraagamanam kutaha.
Meaning– 'So far as you live, live in comforts. Take loan and consume
ghee. Who has seen what happens to an individual after death?' In a
nutshell, he too did not believe in God. History is a witness that he
also met with a painful end. He suffered from leprosy, and when his
body began to rot, people threw him out of the village. And, in that
condition of great physical agony, he finally died.

By giving such examples, my intention is not to infuse a

sense of fright in your heart. I do not intend to convert you from a
non-believer to a believer, by applying pressure tactics. I only wish
to explain to you that whenever someone challenges that Eternal
Principle (God) and denies His existence, carrying propaganda against
dharma, the nature does not tolerate such pollution from toxic thought
processes. She takes a stern stand against such individuals, without
any sentiments of compassion.

And, for your contention that the concept of God originated because
science was not developed at that time; then, remember, as science
will progress further, the existence of God will not be annihilated
rather it will become even firmer and steadier. This can be well
noticed from the fact that all top-notch scientists, as they delved
deeper to resolve the mysteries of this cosmos, have always eulogised
God and His existence.

A gem from the world of science, the famous scientist

Einstein said, “Everyone who is seriously involved in the pursuit of
science becomes convinced that a spirit is manifest in the laws of the
Universe– a spirit vastly superior to that of man, and one in the face
of which we with our modest powers must feel humble.”

Newton said, “This most beautiful system of the sun,

planets, and comets could only proceed from the counsel and dominion
of an intelligent and powerful Being… This Being governs all things
not as the soul of the world, but as Lord over all; and on account of
his dominion he is wont to be called "Lord God"… or "Universal
Ruler."… It is the dominion of a spiritual being which constitutes
a God… And from his true dominion it follows that the true God
is a living, intelligent and powerful Being… he governs all things,
and knows all things that are or can be done…He endures forever, and
is everywhere present; and by existing always and everywhere, he
constitutes duration and space…”

Ramanujan, a well-renowned mathematician of South India,

submitting his viewpoints about God-principle said, “An equation for
me has no meaning, unless it represents a thought of God.”

Maxwell made a profound observation, “Almighty God, who

has created man in Thine own image, and made him a living soul that he
might seek after Thee, and have dominion over Thy creatures, teach us
to study the works of Thy hands, that we may subdue the earth to our
use, and strengthen the reason for Thy service…”

So, it can be clearly observed how scientists with one

voice have accepted the existence of God. Because, they know it very
well that by denying the existence of God, several fundamental
questions will arise. The foremost one will be, 'If there is no God,
then, who is the creator of this Creation?' The scientist Arthur
Eddington wrote in one of his research papers– 100 billion stars
together make one galaxy and 100 such galaxies together make one
Universe. And, there are countless such universes. It will take
100,000 years for the light, travelling at the speed of 300,000 km/s,
to traverse our Milky Way Galaxy. Not to forget that this vast Milky
Way Galaxy is nothing but a mere dot from the view point of
entire cosmos. Who, then, is the creator of such a gigantic cosmos? If
someone argues that such a beautiful, disciplined, and well-planned
cosmos has happened of its own, it is a sheer impossibility.

Therefore, the Kingdom of God exists; and, He is the

Creator of the cosmos. But those with the argumentative mindset assert
their doubts and say, if according to cause and effect theory, the
existence of creation proves the existence of God, then tell us, who
has created God? Who controls and regulates Him? As a matter of fact,
this is not a logical but an illogical statement. But, even this
illogical statement has been answered appropriately by Yogananda
Paramahansa. He quotes a story–

Once an Eskimo lived in the North Pole. His food was only
and only Seal fish. One day, he happened to meet a person from India.
That Eskimo asked him, “To which place do you belong?” The man
replied, “I have come from India.”

Eskimo: Do you get there Seal fish in abundant quantity?

The man from India: No. In India, we do not eat Seal fish. We mostly
take vegetarian food only.

Eskimo: Lie, a blatant lie! Incredible! How can one live without
eating Seal fish?
After telling this story, Yogananda said, just as for that
Eskimo no food other than the Seal fish existed, people with limited
intellect think that no power can exist beyond the scope of cause and
effect theory. Not even the Supreme God. We forget that as the King
makes rules and regulations for the smooth administration of his
kingdom, but he himself is not bound by those rules; likewise, God
applied the cause and effect principle on this cosmos, but He Himself
is not bound by the same. Aristotle said this truth in the following
words– “There must be a Reality that causes but is itself uncaused.”
Upanishads have declared this since time immemorial– God is
self-manifested. He was there before the Creation, and will be there
even after the dissolution of this Creation. The enlightened sages
have equivocally declared in the Aitareyopanishad–

Even before the Creation was created, God alone existed. Nothing else
was there. Then God contemplated to create the worlds; meaning
thereby, He decided about the different forms and dimensions of His
intended Creation. After thinking and planning thus, He created those
worlds.

Therefore, it is proved that God is there and He is the

creator of this Creation. But the travesty of the issue is that we try
to comprehend Him through our small minds, within the limitations of
the intellect! Karl Marx also committed the same blunder. He too was a
hard-core non-believer. He used to say, “If God is there, let Him show
Himself in this test tube. Only then will I believe in His existence.”
But, crossing his own assertions he would further say, “If God can be
accommodated in this small test tube, what sort of God is He?”

It is not difficult but impossible to comprehend God with

this little intellect. In this context, the scientist-philosopher
Whittaker in his book, “Scientific Romances,” has tendered many
scientific examples. He has discussed about a microbe, which can be
seen only through microscope. This microbe possesses the knowledge of
only two dimensions, i.e. length and breadth. It is ignorant of the
third dimension of height or depth. If you obstruct its path with a
block, it will stop there. It will not be able to identify the reason
as to why its movement came to a halt. And, therefore, it will not be
able to find the solution for its problem. It will remain there
listlessly until the block is removed from its path. The very concept
of height is beyond its imagination. This speaks about the limitation
of its intellect. Similarly, there is a limitation of the intellectual
capacity of the human being. It neither can grow limitlessly nor can
it ever develop the capacity to understand the Limitless God. In
Mundakopanishad, the sages have revealed–

Na chakshushaa grihyate naapi vaachaa ... tam pashyate nishkalam dhyaayamaanaha

Meaning thereby, with eyes, with tongue or with any other sensory
organs it is impossible to know Him. Austerities and other rituals
cannot provide His experience. That divine experience is possible only
in the profound depths of meditation, preceded by the Divine
Knowledge.

Conclusively, science is essential. The daily secular

activities are carried out with the support of science. But the
Knowledge of the Inner World (i.e. Brahm Gyan) has its own dimensions
and independent existence. This Knowledge is possible only with the
benign grace of a Sadguru. When he kindles this Divine Knowledge in
our Inner World, the seeker experiences the magnificent Lord in the
inner chambers of his heart. Not with the aid of these external eyes,
but with the opening of the Third Eye! After the direct experience of
the Supreme Lord, no doubts and conflicts remain in the mind and
intellect. Crossing the dualities, the individual not only believes in
God, but also experiences His supreme existence. This is the only way
through which a non-believer can transform into a true and enlightened
believer.

Therefore, I would say that on the basis of arguments and

mind-level conceptions, neither deny nor accept the existence of God.
Instead, through the eternal science of Brahm Gyan, behold the
first-hand experience of God and be His sincere and staunch believer.

Why not be Rich?

Sadhana is wealth that will stay with you forever (Sa-Dhan). This is
absolutely true, however, many people in the name of spirituality seem
to have developed an allergy to material wealth.

Material wealth will not guarantee happiness, that comes through

Sadhana and Seva. But this doesn't mean that rich people are not or
cannot be spiritual. Many feel that people who are spiritual should
wear torn clothes and travel in unreserved compartments on trains or
preferably walk. If material poverty is a sign of Spirituality, then
there are millions around the globe who are deeply spiritual :)
In the Indian tradition, Narayana the God of Knowledge, the Guru, is
married to Laxmi, the Goddess of Wealth. So where there is
Spirituality, Sadhana and Seva, abundance will come naturally, almost
effortlessly. Spirituality and Materialism go hand in hand, infact are
married to each other. Don't divorce them.

Your spiritual practices will bring you peace and happiness. Your
material wealth will bring you comfort. If there has to be a choice,
definitely choose happiness over comfort. Many don't. They remain
comfortably miserable. But the best is to have both.

May you have Narayana and Laxmi reign in your life!

Please become Free and Independent

(From the providential discourses of world-revered Sant Shri Asharamji Bapu)

There are two maxims to be adopted in life:

(1) Correct use of self dependence.

(2) To keep away from dependence.

You have freedom to speak, whether sweet, bitter, truth or a lie.

Speaking sweet is good and bitter is bad use. You also have freedom of
thought. You can think about sense-enjoyments, about friends and foes
and you can also think about the Atman and Brahman too. You have
physical strength. You can misuse it for harassing others and you can
also use it for the well-being of others, for the happiness of others
‘ - ’, or for self-defence. You are free to use
your physical strength, faculty of speech and abilities that you have
earned, in doing good to others, in meditation and in attaining
Knowledge; and you can also spend them in sinful acts driven by hatred
and envy towards others. If you refrain from misusing your faculties,
good use will follow, or if you make only good use of them, misuse
will be avoided.

No one likes being dependent, we are always seeking freedom, yet all
sense-pleasures entail dependence. For sensual pleasure, you depend
upon your spouse. Similarly for all other sense-pleasures, you depend
upon objects of sense pleasure. The dependent pleasures impair
physical strength, intelligence, radiance, health and merits. The
independent pleasures promote physical strength, intelligence,
radiance and health. Self-Bliss is independent. You don’t have to be
subservient to your wife or son for Self-Bliss and you don’t have to
depend on your father either. You can avail of Self-Bliss, meditate on
your Real Self, and love your Real Self without any dependence on
anybody or anything. For bodily love however, you need another body,
and that body or your own body is vulnerable to disease and certain to
die. Then there is the possibility of altercations and conflicts and
you have to depart at the time of death. The joy from physical
relationships is dependent. Do not opt for dependence. You will get
rid of the allurement of dependent joy when you enter the realm of
independent joy.

Some scholars hold the view that God has made the senses extroverted;
therefore they are naturally attracted to external phenomena. But the
experience of saints says that the senses are neither extroverted nor
introverted. If you move towards freedom and want to become introvert,
the senses turn inward; and if you want to be dependent on others
seeking dependent pleasures, the senses become extrovert. You seek
pleasure in eating, seeing or touching some thing… there is nothing
wrong with eating, seeing, etc. do so but only for sustenance, just
like medicine, it should only be resorted to get rid of an undesirable
condition. You have freedom to eat, but don’t make your stomach a
storehouse. Similarly you have freedom to see; but use it for seeing
worthwhile things and not obscenity and vulgarity. If you have the
freedom to think do not nurture thoughts that will make you dependent
on others. You are endowed with the sense of smell. It is up to you
whether you smell scents and get aroused or you inhale the fragrance
of flowers and incense offered to the Lord. The Lord says ‘I am the
pure odour (the subtle principle of odour) in the earth…’
... (The Gita 7.9)

Make good use, not bad use of your relations. Good use of marital
relationship is to encourage each other to spirituality, to nurture
each other by observing brahmacharya and living a life of
self-restraint and to beget lustrous children. Excessive sexual
indulgence for the sake of carnal pleasure while preventing pregnancy
by adopting various means is bad use of the relationship. It is also
harmful to health.

Whether you put your possessions and your wealth to good use or bad
use, you are free to decide. If you opt for Self-Bliss that is not
dependent on anything or anybody, you will become free and independent
in other matters too. And if you hanker after sense-pleasures and
carnal pleasures which are dependent on others, you will become
dependent in other matters as well. Please become free and
independent. Your powers and the wealth which you have gained will
increase and enhance all the more if you make good use of them. And if
they are misused, they will bring misery. To misuse is to sow the
seeds of misery. How simple and how easy! But the habit of improper
use is very old. It makes the good use look difficult and therefore
sadhana is required for that.

If you make good use of the freedom you have gained, you will become
liberated and great. You will get the power to trample death. The
shackles of birth and death will be broken forever and you will attain
realization of the Supreme Self.

Japa leads to perfection! Yes, it most certainly does!

The practice of Japa generates a divine aura, divine bliss and sattvic
vibes in the environment which eradicate the thought-pollution
prevalent in the atmosphere today. Japa of the divine name creates a
divine armour which protects the japaka from negative elements and
helps the person progress on the path of spiritual and material
development.

Once you get a mantra from the Guru, half of your sadhana is completed
by the power of diksha and if you do not repeat your past sins and bad
habits, you are absolved of those sins and you become free from vices.
As your japa increases, your sins will be gradually eradicated.
However, more anushthanas1 are required in the case of a great sin.
There was a great scholar named Vidyaranya Swami in the order of Lord
Adi Shankaracharya. He was initiated with the Guru mantra and was told
to perform an anushthana by his Guru.

The Ishtamantra is perfected by doing 1,11,110 number of japas if it

is a mono-syllabilic mantra. In case of mantras which have more than
one syllable in them, the japa should be performed for as many times
as the number of syllables in the mantra multiplied by 1,11,110. By
performing an anushthana, one gets protection from negativity and the
inauspicious, and the presiding deity of the mantra is revealed.
Vidyaranya Swami performed many anushthanas but saw that his presiding
deity, divine Mother Bhagwati, had not yet revealed herself. No
miracle of any sort had happened. “All this is humbug. I should not
have got entangled in this”, he thought, and collected some wood at
the solitary place where he had built a hutment for himself. He lit a
fire and offered all the religious books, articles of worship, rosary,
gomukhi etc. to the fire-god.

As everything was being engulfed by the fire, a divine lady with a

magnetic aura around her manifested herself and said to Vidyaranya
Swami, “What are you doing?”

He replied: “Mother! All this japa is nothing but humbug. I have

performed several anushthanas and found that mantra japa is useless.
Now I will spread the information among people that they should not
waste their time by becoming religious. Let them earn, eat, enjoy and
make merry. I will spread atheism. There is no God. All this talk
about mantras is useless.”

The goddess said, “Well! You may do whatever you like but at least
turn around and look.”

Vidyaranya Swami saw that just like the fire which was burning before
him, there was a conflagration behind him and huge boulders of the
size of mountains were falling from above into it and were being
blasted to pieces. One after another, several such boulders were being
destroyed in the fire with a deadly sound. Dumbfounded, he thought,
“What is this that I am seeing? The lady who spoke to me must be aware
of the mystery behind this.” He turned around but the lady had
disappeared! Where did she go? He wandered in the woods calling out to
the goddess, “O Mother! O goddess!! O Mother of the world!!! Be
gracious. You revealed yourself and have now disappeared. I don’t know
who you really are. Please guide me.”

A heavenly voice was heard, “You have abandoned dharma, japa and the
refuge of the Guru’s command. You are now an orphan. Go and wander
according to the whims of your mind. There are many such orphans who
wander, and after death they flow into the drain when they don’t get a
mother’s womb to be reborn in. You too may go and do as you please.
Will the sun become extinct by your saying that it does not exist?
Will God perish by your propagating atheism?”

“Mother! I saw huge boulders being destroyed in the fire. What does that mean?”

The goddess replied, “The great sins of your past lives have been
destroyed one by one by anushthanas.”

“Mother! Kindly guide me.”

The goddess said, “You have shown disregard to the mantra given by the
Guru. Worship and pray to the Guru to forgive you. If you once again
perform an anushthana, considering your Guru’s touch, the mantra and
the rosary given by Him as the supreme means for your good, you will
experience the efficacy of the japa and gain supernatural powers.”

Vidyaranya Swami fell at his Guru’s feet, cried and narrated the whole
incident to Him. The compassionate Guru again gave him a rosary and
the required scriptures, etc. and said, “You will now become
successful by performing a single anushthana.”

He did as he was told and became such a great siddha (enlightened

master) that he composed a scripture, which helped me (Pujya Bapuji)
attain Self-realization.

Lord Krishna’s Gita blessed Arjuna with a divine intellect capable of

comprehending the Real Essence (Tattva). Similarly, the Guru’s mantra
destroyed the dangerous darkness caused by his mahapatakas committed
by Vidyaranya Swami in his past lives to bless him with a divine
intellect capable of realizing the Ultimate Truth. He composed the
famous scripture ‘Panchdashi.’ The sadhaks of Vedanta and all the
saints and devotees who follow the path of Wisdom are acquainted with
this scripture.

So, it is not that if you do japa, you will get the result instantly.
Japa first purifies the body, the mind and our past karma. Only after
that past debt is cleared, will something be deposited in your
account. When does one accumulate a bank balance? One may say, “I have
been depositing 200-500-1,000 rupees with the bank everyday, but the
balance in my account has not yet touched one lakh rupees!” Foolish
person! You already owe three and a half lakh rupees to the bank and
you still have to deposit 25 thousand rupees to clear that loan. How
can you have a bank balance? Only after the debt is cleared will
something be deposited in your account. On the same lines, japa
creates an energy which destroys sins. The accumulated sins of the
past are destroyed and one’s merits increase. Therefore, one should do
japa continuously.

The scriptures say:

One does attain supernatural powers if one does japa while steeringclear of base acts.
Do not doubt the efficacy of japa.
