Grade: Grade 2 PE Lesson Title: Volleyball Skills Lesson Duration (mins): 30

Overview of lesson
This lesson has been designed to help develop skills involved in the sport of volleyball for grade 2 students. One
activity is ‘Keep it Up!’ where students need to work together in groups of 4-6 to keep a beach ball up in the air, and
the other activity is ‘Targets’ where students need to throw a volleyball over the volleyball net into a hula hoop on the
other side. Two important volleyball skills are to not let the ball touch the ground and targeting certain areas of the
opposite court. To begin, students will run 2 laps around the gym and come to the center circle for instructions. By the
end of the lesson, students will have practiced, and developed skills needed for volleyball.
