PAK-AFFAIR- 1930 TO 1947

A. ALLAHABAD ADDRESS- 1930:-


1. Delivered by Allama Iqbal on 30th December 1930.
2. Delivered on the 21st session of Muslim League at Allahabad.
3. Allama Iqbal wrote a letter to Quaid Azam on 21st June 1937.

B. CIVIL DIAOBEDIENCE MOVEMENT:-


1. Civil disobedience movement started by Gandhi
2. It was started on 12th March 1930.

C. FIRST ROUND TABLE CONFERENCE (1ST RTC):-


1. First round table conference was started on 13th November 1930.
2. Quaid Azam participated 1st RTC.
3. Agha khan-3 represented Muslim League.
4. Congress leaders Gandhi and Juwahar Lal Nehru did not participate.
5. Because Congress was banned due to civil disobedience movement.
6. During 1st RTC British was Ramsay Macdonald.
7. 1st RTC was ended on 19th January 1931.
8. After RTC-1, Quaid Azam renounced Politics.

D. GANDGI-IRWIN PACT- 1931:-


1. Gandhi was released from prison by Lord Irwin.
2. Gandhi-Irwin Pact was signed on 5th March 1931.
3. Civil disobedience movement was ended under Gandhi-Irwin Pact.
4. Gandhi-Irwin Pact was brokered by Tej Bahadur Sapura.

E. SECOND ROUND TABLE CONFERENCE (2ND RTC):-


1. 2nd RTC was started on 7th September 1931 at London.
2. Quaid Azam did not participated 2nd RTC.
3. Allama Iqbal participated from the Muslim League side.
4. Gandhi participated 2nd RTC.
5. During 2nd RTC British P.M was Ramsay Macdonald.
6. 2nd session of RTC ended on 31st September 1931

F. COMMUNAL AWARD:-
1. Communal award was published on 4th August 1932.
2. It was announced by British P.M Ramsay Macdonald.
3. It was later included into the Act of 1935.

G. CIVIL DIAOBEDIENCE MOVEMENT:-


1. Gandhi again started civil disobedience movement in January 1932.
2. Gandhi was arrested by the British government.
3. The movement was ended in April 1934.

H. THIRD ROUND TABLE CONFERENCE:-


1. 3rd RTC started on 17th November 1932 at London.
2. Quaid Azam did not participate 3rd RTC.
3. Allama Iqbal headed the Muslim delegate.
4. Gandhi did not participate.
5. British opposition dis not participated.
6. 3rd Session of RTC ended on 24 December 1932.
7. White Paper of RTC Was published in March 1933.
8. Begum Shah Nawaz attended one RTC.

I. GOVERNMENT OF INDIA ACT-1935:-


1. It was passed in 1935.
2. It is also called as The first federal constitution of India.
3. This Act came into force on 1st April 1937.
4. It provided Federal system.
5. Indian federation was introduced in Indian Act 1935.
6. According to this Act Sindh was separated from Bombay.
7. It was ended in 1939.

J. ELECTIONS 1937:-
1. The provincial Elections of 1937 were held under Indian Act 1935.
2. Muslim League won 109 seats out of 482 Muslim reserved seats.
3. Congress won Victory over Muslim League and formed its Ministries.

K. CONGRESS MINISTRIES- 1937 – 1939:-


1. Congress got victory in 1937 elections.
2. Being victorious Congress formed ministries in 8 provinces.
3. Congress Rule continued from July 1937 to October 1939.
4. TYRANIES OF CONGRESS RULE:
(I) BANDE MATARAM SONG:- (a) Written by Bengali novelist Bankim
Chatterjee. (b) congress started their day with recitation of this song.
(II) WARDHA SCHEME:- It was also called Vaidya Mandir Scheme. It was
written by ZAAKIR HUSSAIN.
(a) It was educational system. (b) It was aimed at bowing of Muslim
children before Gandhi’s Picture.
(III) HOISTING OF THREE COLOURED FLAG:- Hindus and British union.
5. Congress ministries resigned from the office in 1939 in protest against British.
6. Lord Linlithgow declared India at War with Germany on 3rd September 1939.
7. Muslims observed Day of Deliverance on 22 December 1939.
8. Muslims celebrated Day of deliverance as a sign of relief from Congress
oppressions.
9. Pirpur report about Congress ministries came in 1938.
10. Sharif Report about Bihar came in 1939

L. LAHORE RESOLUTION-1940:-
1. Pakistan resolution is also called Pakistan Resolution.
2. It was passed on 23 March 1940.
3. It was passed during the 27th session of Muslim League at Minto Park (Lahore).
Quaid Azam presided over the Session.
4. Minto Park is now called Iqbal Park
5. The welcome address of annual session of ML was made by Nawab Shah Nawaz
Mamdoot.
6. It was presented in the general session by A.K Fazul Haque (C.M of Bengal).
7. Liaqat Ali Khan wrote the text of Lahore Resolution.

M. AUGUST OFFER – 1940:-


1. August offer was made on 8 August 1940.
2. It was offered by Lord Linlithgow.
3. Congress rejected August offer.

N. CRIPPS MISSION -1942 :-


1. Cripps arrived at Karachi on 22 March.
2. He reached New Delhi on 23 March 1942.
3. It stated that India would be given Dominion status.
4. Cripps met with Jinnah on 25 March 1942.
5. Jinnah delivered his Urdu address on 3 April 1942 at “Jinnah Chaman” (Allahabad).
6. Both Muslim League and Congress rejected Cripps proposals.
O. QUIT INDIA MOVEMENT – 1942:-
1. Quit India movement launched in August 1942.
2. Quaid Azam called it as Political blackmailing.
3. Congress chanted the slogan of Quit India movement.
4. Muslim League chanted the slogan of “Divide and Quit”.

P. C.R FORMULA:-
1. C. Raja Gopal Achari was the first Indian Governor General of India.
2. His formula was released to the Press in 1943.

Q. GANDHI-JINNAH TALKS 1944 :-


1. Gandhi-Jinnah talks were held on 19 September 1944.
2. Gandhi-Jinnah talks lasted till 24 September 1944.
3. Quaid Azam wanted independent self government for Muslims
4. Gandhi wanted self government for Muslim in a United India.

R. WAVELL PLANE AND SIMLA CONFERENCE – 1945 :-


1. Lord Wavell was the Viceroy of India.
2. Lord Wavell announced the plane on 14 June 1945.
3. Simla conference met on 15 July 1945.

S. ELECTIONS – 1945- 1946 :-


1. 1945 – World war-II ended.
2. Elections were held in British.
3. Leader of conservative Party “Winston Churchill” was defeated by “Clement
Attlee’s Labour Party”.
4. Elections were held in two stages.
5. In December 1945 the Central elections were held.
6. In January 1946 the Provincial elections were held.
7. Muslim League won 428 seats out of 492 seats.
T. CABINET MISSION PLANE :-
1. Cabinet Mission reached New Delhi on 24 March 1946.
2. Cabinet Mission consisted of 8 members.
3. Talks started with Indian leaders on 26 March 1946.
4. Cabinet Mission announce its plane on 16 May 1946.
5. Muslim league observed Direct Action Day on 16 August, 1946.
6. M.L observed Direct Action Day against Cabinet Mission’s abolition of Interim
government.
7. Quaid Azam joined Interim government in 1946.
8. In Interim Govt: ML got Portfolios of Finance.
9. Liaqat Ali Khan was made Finance Minister.

U. 3RD JUNE PLANE :-


1. Lord Mountbatten announced his plane of Partition of India into India and Pakistan
on 3rd June 1947.
V. INDIAN INDEPENDENCE ACT – 1947 :-
1. Introduced in British Parliament on 4 July 1947.
2. It received Royal assent on 18 July 1947.
3. The Act partitioned India and Pakistan.
4. The partition date was fixed 15 August 1947.
5. Transfer of Power took place on 15 August 1947.
W. QUAID AZAM :-
1. Jinnah was born on 25 December 1876.
2. Jinnah died on 11 September 1948.
3. Who gave Muhammad Ali Jinnah the tittle of Quaid Azam? Mian Feroz Deen.
4. Muhammad Ali Jinnah was given the tittle of Quaid Azam in 1938.
