Mechanical Project Engineer

I am currently recruiting for an experienced mechanical engineer or project engineer who has
experience within power stations or the renewable energy industry. The ideal candidate will have
exposure to project management experience in either a hands-on mechanical engineer position or a
project engineer position. You will be based at one of three power stations sites around East Anglia
(Ely, Eye and Thetford). My client is recognised as one of the leaders in the renewable energy market
as a significant contributor to the production of biomass energy for the home market.

Reporting to the Senior Operations Manager but working closely with the Station Managers, the focus
of the Project Engineer will be to deliver project and engineering support to all sites across the
portfolio.

The key responsibilities of the Project Engineer will include;

 Providing technical expertise and support on all engineering issues.


 Delivering projects and outage activities to include procurement, risk mitigation, design and
supply, installation and commissioning.
 Ensuring strong SHE performance through compliance with policies, legislation and industry
best practice.
 Assisting with the financial control of projects.
 Supporting the execution of the SHE management system and ensuring that the Safe System
of Work is fully utilised.
 Assisting site management teams with agreed operational costs, forecasts and attending
review meetings where required.
 Providing technical support to development projects as requested.

To be considered for the role of Project Engineer you should ideally have;

 A solid background in mechanical engineering, with prior power station or energy from waste
experience being advantageous.
 A good awareness of project management is essential, encompassing works delivery and
commissioning challenges in which you will hold responsibility as a technical lead.
 Ideally you will hold a current NEBOSH certificate, have strong IT skills including the use of
Word, Excel Project and PowerPoint, with at least 3 years utility or heavy industry experience.
 You will be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills as well as providing tangible
evidence of previous project management experience.

In return the successful candidate will receive;

 A salary between £35,000-£50,000 (DOE & Skills)
