Hi,

Hope you all have a good week!

Yep!! You are correct 100%

Because in this question it is mentioned that the differentil equation of the beam is,

D4y/dx4 +4a4y=w(x)/EI

Here E and I are constants.

L=pi, a=1 so that D4y/dx4 +4y=w(x)/EI

W(x) is load per unit length

X=0, x=L free end

Y(0)=0 showing that no deflection

Y’(0) =0 the deflection curve is tangent to the x axis.

In this way note that:

U(pi-pi/2) =1

0= w0/4EI+c2/4(sin h * pi)

C2= -w0/EI sin h pi

Therefore solution to the initial value problem is,

Y(x) =w0/12EIL (-x5/5 + Lx4/2- L2x3/2 +L3x2/4 +1/5(x-L/2)^5U(x-L/2))

THANK YOU!!

Hi,

Hope you all doing good.

Hello you are right my dear!

We know that L{d2q / dt2} = s^2L{q}
L{dq / dt} = s * L{q} –q (0)
= s.L{q}
= 10/s - 10/s * (e^-5s)
L{q} = 20/s* ((s+10)^2+100) * (1-e^-5s)
20= A [(s+10)^2 +100] + (Bs + C) * s
Comparing above equations, A = 1/10
A + B =0, B = -1/10
And C = -2
L^-1 { e^-as. F(s)} = f(t-a). u(t-a)
Therefore,
q(t) = 1/10-1/10e^-10t cos 10t -1/10 e^-10t sin t –[ 1/10-1/10e^-10(t-5) 1/10 cos10(t-5)-1/10e^-
10(t-5) sin 10(t-5) ] u(t-5)
