Conclusion

As a conclusion, project claim are divide into 3 categories which are claim under ex
gratia, claim arising from excessive variation and claim arising from client’s default.
These claims allow service provider to claim to client on cost that should not be incurred
to parties that are supposed to be responsible for the additional cost in the project.
Although claim allow correction of cost billing between vendor and client in a project,
claim can also assist to enhance the relationship between both company on cost which
both parties are not at fault or direct responsible by providing a goodwill payment for the
additional cost. Claim management are divide into four types, which are in accordance to
the project phase. The claim process are claim prevention, claim mitigation, claim
pursuance and claim resolution. These processes allow proper claim process to be use
when either parties raised a claim request. This will allow the vendor client relationship
to be properly manage to maintain continuation business relationship.
