I like Physics, or liked Physics. My interest in physics has reduced over the past few
years. I do think that learning Physics is important, maybe not for everyone but it is
certainly an important thing to learn.
3. Do you think lab sessions may help you to get a better understanding of
Physics? You are expected to attend a minimum of three lab sessions
through the year. Can you give an assurance that you’ll take initiative in this
regard?
Lab sessions were my favorite part of the class 11 enrichment course and it really
helped me a lot. I’ll certainly come for the lab sessions.
4. Are you aware that our course is a ‘Crash Course’? There course will have a
minimum of 40 sessions before the end of August 2019. There’ll be a 3
month break and we resume in Dec 2019. The course will be demanding.
Would you give your strong commitment to the course?
I am aware that our classes are a crash course and will try my best to not miss a
single class.
5. Are you the type of student who’d actively interact in the class or are you
one who’d prefer to be silent in the class? You’re expected to ask at least
one ‘thought-provoking’ question through the year. Can you give me an
assurance that you’d sincerely try to ask deep questions?
I am a very vocal person and will constantly ask doubts. I will surely raise many
questions throughout the year.
6. Would you be regular to our classes? If you are / may have to be absent for a
class, what’d you do?
I will be regular to the classes. I have not missed a single class this year and will try to
do so in the next year as well. If I am absent, I will message you beforehand.
7. What are your expectations from Ravi Shankar? What do you expect to gain
from our classes?
I want a physics class where I can freely ask the questions that I have in my mind and
I want an interactive learning environment.
I am not really sensitive towards my test marks. I would be concerned if I get very
less marks and would concentrate on the topic more but marks would not really
change my Modus Operandi.
9. How have you been doing Physics so far (in class 11)?
Well, it could certainly be a lot better. I find physics overwhelming in class 11 but I
expect to gain some control over it through the year.
10. Have you attended Physics classes elsewhere? You’re encouraged to share
your experience. You don’t need to name Institutes or names of teachers.
You only need to share your experience.
I have attended some IITJEE coaching centers but have not found them too helpful
and have always quit them.
11. There are many teachers / institutes who / which offer to teach Physics.
Explain very clearly reasons why you chose Ravi Shankar. Why would you
want to ‘Learn Physics with Ravi Shankar’?
I did attend your classes for a full year and have gained a lot of knowledge through
them. The unconventional approach to teaching concepts using demonstrations
made me want to continue this course.
12. Did you read my email and sms policies for our classes? Do you think email
and sms etiquettes are important? Don’t you find them ‘unnecessary’ and
‘annoying’?
I read through them and I thought that they were a bit too much. I feel that modern
science has made communication so fast and adhering to policies and checking them
with the blog really caused me a lot of stress. I would also fear that elusive typo
which would ruin things completely.
I agree to not wear them. Personally, I find jeans with holes distasteful.
14. Is a dress-code important for classes? Please do not hesitate to express your
honest views. You may disagree with me but you’ll be expected to stick to
the dress-code in any case.
I fell that dress code is not too important as long as people come in respectable
clothing.
15. Do you think tight-fitting clothes are good for your health? Please do some
research and let me know why tight-fitting clothes may not be the best for
our health.
Tight fitting clothes do not allow your skin to breathe and are also really
uncomfortable to wear. So, yeah, they are not a great choice to wear.
16. Did you consult your seniors who may have been my students before you
decided to join ‘our’ classes? You’re strongly encouraged to consult my past-
years students before joining ‘our’ classes.
No, I have not spoken to my seniors before joining your class this year.
17. Would you be interested in attending the ‘very early’ morning ‘Enrichment
Classes’ for IIT Mains / NEET?
I apologize. I cannot come for the ‘very early’ class. I might be a little too partial to
sleep.
18. There’ll be early morning classes once in a while. You should not enter the
class without taking a bath. Do you agree to this condition?
I agree fully. I can’t really begin the day without taking a bath.
19. What are your goals for the upcoming year? What would intend to do after
class 12?
I want to be more serious about learning. I want to focus more on problems and get
over my fears of the scary formulae.
20. Did you attend my class 11 ‘Enrichment course’? How was the course useful?
THE class was incredibly useful. I was very bad in physics in class 10 and attending
this course has given me a new perspective to physics. I have regained my love for
the subject.
21. Did you discontinue my class 11 course mid-way? If so, why? Did you inform
me about your discontinuation? Please note your admission into class 12
may be positively considered only if I get a satisfactory explanation for your
discontinuation.
Yes, they were very happy that I would finally wake up early in the morning.
