EDUCATION, THE BASE OF SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT

Nowadays, the debate on the implementation of new educational needs based on


the “Information and Communication Technologies” remains open. This is due to the
fact that this educational movement is based on the implementation of “eLearning” and
also in the use of the new strategies in order to develop senses altogether with the
regular classes. Unfortunately, whole world economies have to lead to a social gap in
education in many places. An example of this is Latin America, which has a real
problem with educational deficiencies and gaps. Education in modern economies has
become much more important. That is why knowledge as part of sociocultural
development has become one of the most important factors fueling economic
production. Therefore, education is considered as one of the pillars of a country. For
that reason, the need to make a change within the gaps of education between rich and
poor people hasta became an imperative factor to take into consideration.

When we talk specifically about Ecuador, we see that, despite the large
investments made by the central government, Ecuador still has a lag behind educational
development around the country. The lowest social strata are often the most affected by
this social and economic phenomenon. This gap means that the investments made by
the central government are not enough. For this reason, we must contemplate new
educational techniques to solve this social problem from a pedagogical perspective.

Our project gains importance, as it sought to help and educational institution


located in Tumbaco. The project will be implemented in order to educate children in
primary education, who are around seven years old. This help will come through the
implementation of different educational techniques that allow us to establish a new
educational approach that is, above all, child-friendly. I will teach the students
specifically about sports and their importance regarding personal development. I am
also going to teach the students about essential verbs related to their daily activities.

Within the chosen pedagogical framework, I opted for the implementation of


two types of educational models. The first one is going to be based on the cognitive
development of the infants through the implementation of visual material in which the
students will join each of the selected worlds with the corresponding image. This
activity is going to help the students to make a mental association between words, more
specifically verbs, and pictures. Resulting in the improvement of learning results and
making this activity funny and entertaining. Moreover, the student’s participation is
going to be a type of collective-based learning. For this point, I am going to realize a
mimic game between all the classes together with a sing and dance activity in order to
learn about vocabulary in both cases.

The material necessary for the realization of these pseudo logical models is easy
to acquire and not represent a complication to be used. Within this, I will give students a
poster with color printed and plasticized images. I will be using a Velcro-based system,
which will make it highly resistant. I will also give the students a series of plásticized
song lyrics and a CD with three different songs in order for them to practice vocabulary
and pronunciation. Each song will have different difficulty, starting with the easiest,
medium and difficult. Finally, I will give them a game that is going to consist of 12
printed cards that are going to have some pictures of sports and their names written on
top. This activity will have the purpose of allowing them to play mimics.

A tentative plan for the material is going to be listed in the next list:
1. Velcro based board
2. Plasticized pictures
3. Plasticized songs lyrics
4. 12 printed cards
5. CD with songs

For this purpose, the work to be done will be based on three bibliographical
sources. All of them are going to be based on new educational methods and the
importance of primary education in society. These texts will provide a context
implementation and improvement of educational methods taught within the chosen
institution. The sources will be cited at the end of these documents. Moreover, the work
to be done is going to be detailed in the next schedule:

The first and third sources provide a better understanding of ways of


implementing the school material in order to get more effective teaching results in
primary schools. The second source is imperative to contextualize the educational
problem and, above all, to suggest changes within the teaching management system.
