Celine Dion has been an inspiration to me for
many years.

Needless to say, I have keenly observed her

style and analyzed what works for her and what
doesn’t. She has an eye for fashion but does not
go for avant- garde looks or runs after popular
trend. When she’s on stage, her outfits narrate a
story, both of the song and that of her personal
experience.

She chooses to control her wardrobe instead

of blindly listening to stylists and designers,
which in my opinion, shows her individuality.
She dresses to express when she’s on stage,
while she dresses to kill while she’s on the road.
It is truly inspiring to observe her ever-growing
sense of fashion.
Moments Ago...

The collection was created keeping in mind the likings and

characteristics of the muse. Fitted upper bodice, draped
lower portion, sheer fabrics formed the physical silhouettes
of the collection, the witty personality and contemporizing
the trend made the motifs and techniques. The pallette was
inspired keeping in mind the simplicity and pastel likings of
the muse and also the earthy elements of the vision.

Motifs were contemprorized indian tribal elements which

have been hand painted and mixed with nalkhi work, thereby
keeping the essence of the designers intact.

The range was created keeping in mind the various
occassions and ceremonies involved in an Indian Wedding.
Hence to provide Ms. Dion with a range of clothing, the
range includes some modern day kurta designs with
sharara’s, Semi and fully stitched Saree’s and Gowns.
The ensembles will be ornamented with antique zari and
dabka work. The warli motifs made out of a variety of
pearls, sequins and other metal cutouts.
The range hopes to cater to a variety of clients to give
them a special look for their special occassions.
The saree features a fully ornamented
box pleated in lieu of the traditional
pleats. They are also paired with
ornamented corsets of various cuts
and lengths.
Some designs also feature so
dramatic sleeves keeping in mind the
muse’es fascination towards them.
The range hopes to cater to a variety
of clients to give them a special look
for their special occassions.

Concept Board

This collection takes into account the phenomenon of

ink diffusing in water. The various series and steps as it
starts on the surface and starts dripping inside the water
until it finally mixes. It creates a series a hues and layering
patterns. I conducted this experiment at home and took
around 50 photographs as basis for my collection.
Swatches and draping
To capture the various moments of ink diffusing, I
explored layering and smocking techniques with sheer
fabrics.

I also draped them on the body form to mimic the

movement and flow of ink. This collection will be broadly
draped and contoured around the body in layered sheer
fabrics.

Walking through these dark black doors into this other side was just a false
facade where everything but the truth was spoken. They hid in their own
shallowness amidst these dark sights where silhouettes were drawn out of
guilt, by their own selves which they wanted to hide.

This is how vague my dreams were - the dark fantasies of this pretentious
world. With time it didnt fade, but only strenghtened.

The Terah Taal Project

Trend Board
Terah Taal is a well known unique folk dance of Rajasthan.
Performed by the Kamada tribe, it requires years of
practice and skill. The usual set up consists of manjeeras,
cymbals and/or similar discs made out of metals. The
dance has a rich set of beats and visual performance that
takes the viewers through the rich and delicate history
of Rajasthan.

The unique hand movements of the dancers were aesthetically

captured using stop motion technique, the sounds of the primary
recordings were modified into waves, the unique accessorisation
of the hands of the dancers were all taken forward to create these
digital graphics made to be printed in Digital and Foil techniques.
 Some intricately detailed prints were developed and placed onto
some traditional silhouettes. The proposed techniques are digital
and foil prints, and threadwork to enhance the figures.

Here are some color options for a design, with varying colors for the
graphics as well - Sodalite Blue (19-3953 TCX); Flourite Green (17-
0133 TCX); Snow White; Denim Blue.

Some quirky and fun prints were developed as t-shirt prints for
both men and women.

Once Upon a Time

Once Upon a Time was an abc series based on the fairytales of Snow
White and Evil Queen. It brought all the fairytales together and made
the Evil Queen as the centre of everything. The show is set in 1980’s
when the defeated queen casts and curse that brings every fairytale
character into a wretched place, i.e, our world. It follows their stories
afterwards. So its a modern take on Disney’s original stories.

I decided to use the famous dialogues, moments, storylines and

characters to create T-shirt graphics. Some graphics feature the
tagline “Magic always comes with a price”, which essentially sums up
the entire series.

These graphics are made as a memory of this show which last aired
in March 2018.

Mood Board
For this project I was inspired by the this one transparent winged butterfly, Greta Oto. It involves
some sheer surface manipulations, fine threadwork, and embroideries. Contouring around the
body will enhance the silhouette and bring out the delicate feminity. Pastel tones will power this
collection, whether pret or couture.
For this project I was inspired by the this one transparent winged

species, the patterns and textures found in them.

I developed over 50 prints for this project. They were developed in

a way that they have scope both for pret and couture collections in
future.
