Bullying

“Kids have always been known to tease. It can be a defense mechanism in

order to feel a part of the crowd. Modern times have allowed the spread of bullying to
expand beyond what it used to in the past. Kids can now reach each other through
online sources and through texting. They can share evidence of the bullying amongst
their peers. Therefore, this is an issue that should continue to receive attention and
awareness.”

It can be physical or emotional, and I think emotional bullying is a type of

bullying that many people wouldn’t acknowledge as bullying. Many people wouldn’t
consider it as a problem because sometimes it is not obvious but some people are hurt
by words, and others can’t recognize it, and instead they recognize it as light-hearted,
funny, or a joke. But one thing to keep in our mind is that little things do build up,
those little jokes and teases do build up, and it will destroy someone’s life. It can give
them friendship-building issues, attitudinal differences, anxiety and trust issues.
Bullying is thought to only happen in high school but I think it can happen in
everyone. It can happen as young as 5 to 6 years old and in senior ages. Literally kids
in kindergarten get bullied and that’s shocking, because this age are in the stage of
interacting with other kids, it can cause them to think that people in this world are
very mean, and their innocence are snatched from them. There are also teachers that
intimidate and push over other teachers. Bullying can be in person or online and it can
be subjective because some people are just looking on the physical appearance of
every individual, some of jokes are very offensive. Bullying is a coward’s behaviour
and a sign of immaturity. Bullies do not accept responsibility, even when faced with
the consequences of their own behaviour. They secretly fear that their own weakness
will be exposed because they cannot let themselves become aware of their fear.

To stop the bullying we should not suffer in silence, we should reach out to
anyone especially to our parents and teacher or anyone. Tell someone what is going
on and together make a plan of action. Keep a supportive network around you. You
need also to socialize make time for family and friends, do not isolate yourself. Make
your negative thoughts into positivity. There will always be people who want to see
you fall and fail. They will try to break your spirit. Never allow them to destroy you.
GENDER DEVELOPMENT

“Gender refers to an individual's anatomical sex, or sexual assignment, and the

cultural and social aspects of being male or female. An individual's personal sense of
maleness or femaleness is his or her gender identity. It hopes to ensure fairness and
equity so that women and men can participate on an equal basis in decision-making
and in developing a better society. It is based on the philosophy underlying equal
opportunity programs, whose purpose is to counter discrimination against women in
organizations and society at large. Gender inequality, or in other words, gender
discrimination refers to unfair rights between male and female based on different
gender roles which leads to unequal treatment in life. The term gender inequality has
been widely known in human history but not until the beginning the 20th century has
the transformation of gender relations become “one of the most rapid, profound social
changes” (Wright & Rogers 2009).

Gender discrimination it is an unfavourable treatment of individuals on the

basis of their gender which denies them rights, opportunities or resources. Across our
world, some women are treated unequally and less value is placed on their lives
because of their gender. For example in the community, market, household have
differential access to power and control of resources. Within the household, women
and girls can face discrimination in the sharing out of household resources including
food and sometimes leading to higher malnutrition and mortality indicators for
women. These days, the inconsistency that makes women suffer adversities and put
women into unpleasant situation is seen in every angle of life. However, the method
of gender discrimination in one place differs from that in others. For example, in
workplace gender inequality speeds up when entering the job racing, not only the
different salary, inequality at work is demonstrated through the differences between
genders and the amount of money paid. Gender inequality has effects on the scale of
population. The discrimination of genders leads to some problems in education.
Education is an important tool, is the key to the growth of human. And no matter what
gender a person is, he has right to expose to education like others.

Gender inequality is obviously an urgent problem in the world. Despite the

fact that its volume much decreases, it still exists and makes a lot of people suffer its
consequences every day. And there are many reasons leading to gender discrimination
which cannot be solved easily. However, with education and progressive thoughts of
people, there are also reasons to trust in the future of gender inequality being stopped.
Then, hopefully, people can live in fairness no matter what gender they are.
