Cybil 5 Software

1 General Description
The Cybil Software program provides the facility to electronically capture and
report on information about plant filling operations. This information may be
used to improve the monitoring, control and traceability of cylinder filling
operations and provides a convenient facility for fault analysis.
This application is a Web based program that runs on computer with Window
XP, Windows 7 and Windows Vista operating systems. The program is best
browse using Mozilla Firefox and Microsoft Internet Explorer version 7 and
above.

1.1 What does Cybil do?

The Cybil software records operating data from plant equipment connected to
the Cybil computer via the Communications Controller/Interface.

Terminal Scale Scales

When the Cybil PC is connected and communicating to the Communications

Controller / Interface through a serial communication port, data is recorded in
the Cybil software database for each cylinder that is filled and check weighed.

Note
The data generated by any cylinder filling activity that occurs when the
Cybil PC is not communicating with the Communications Controller
will not be recorded.

The time and date associated with the cylinder filling record, will be within 0.5
seconds after the cylinder has been check weighed, or if the data is originating
from a floor scale, within 0.5 seconds after the cylinder has been filled.

4 Kosel IndustriesMalaysia
Cybil 5 Software

The Cybil software can be used to extract specific productivity and filling
accuracy data from the database. Data captured can be viewed or printed in
numerical or graphical formats with user configurable selection and grouping
criteria such as time and date, cylinder size, operator and filling station. Reports
can also be downloaded and saved in CSV, Excel, PDF and XML format.
For connectivity to other management information systems, the Cybil database
is ‘ODBC’ compliant (Open Database Connectivity). This means that any
external client program with the appropriate ODBC driver can access the stored
filling data and log files.
All or portions of the cylinder filling database can also be ‘exported’ in a
delimited text format for import into other software programs such as a
spreadsheet or another database application.
Please consult with your systems administrator or Kosel Industries for additional
information on interfacing the Cybil database to other information systems.

9999. For floor scales, or where the carousel scales are being operated in
manual mode, the operator number recorded will be 0000.
6) Nominal Gas
The nominal capacity (target capacity) of the cylinder filled. The Nominal
Capacities available depends on those previously set-up in the Cylinder
Categories window and downloaded to the cylinder filling equipment.
7) Tare Weight
The entered cylinder tare weight.
8) Dispensed
The actual LPG dispensed into the cylinder.
9) Residual
The LPG in cylinder before filling.
10) Fill Deviation
Either:
1) The difference between the Nominal (Target) Gas Capacity and the
measured gas weight from the Check scale
or
2) For floor scales, or if the check scale is not working, the difference
between the Nominal (Target) Gas Capacity and the measured gas weight
on the filling station at the end of the fill.
11) Under fill Tolerance
The Under fill Tolerance is the amount of gas less than the Nominal Gas
Capacity that determines whether the Check Scale accepts or rejects a
filled cylinder.
12) Over fill Tolerance
The Overfill Tolerance is the amount of gas greater than the Nominal Gas
Capacity that determines whether the Check Scale accepts or rejects a
filled cylinder.

13) Filling Error Number

Indicates the occurrence of an error from a filling station. (Either a
carousel filling station or floor scale.) These error messages are defined in
the AS675C2 / F1 Operator Manual.
14) Check Error Number
This field is used for two functions:
1. It indicates the occurrence of an error from the check scale. These
error messages are defined in the AS675CS Operator Manual (Part
MAN-80549). In addition, if the fill deviation not has been
calculated from check scale data, a ‘-1’ (negative one) will appear in
this field.
2. A separate record is recorded when a cylinder leak has been
detected. The number stored in this field indicates the total number
of cylinder leaks detected and recorded by the PLC since a previous
leak was detected. Normally this number will be 1. The station type
will be set to ‘L’.
15) Gross Weight At Filling Station
16) Gross Weight At Check Scale
17) Check Scale Number
18) Cylinder Category

All of the fields above can be filtered and sorted. There is also an option for the
User to remove all filter conditions.

3.4 Setting up Cylinder Categories

3.4.1 About Cylinder Categories

Cylinder Categories are used to simplify the entry of data into a cylinder filling
station or check scale. A Cylinder Category consists of a nominal gas capacity, a
nominal tare weight, and other data associated with cylinders of a particular
size.
To fill a cylinder in Manual Mode, the cylinder tare weight and an optional
cylinder category is entered directly into the filling station and again at the check
scale.
In Auto Mode, to eliminate the need to enter the same data into a carousel filling
station and check scale for a given cylinder, the AS685 Communications
Controller software monitors the cylinder tare weight and nominal gas capacity
entered at the AS675T1 operator terminal. The AS685 routes this data to the
appropriate carousel filling station and check scale, at the correct time, and in
the correct sequence for each cylinder.
To ensure that the each cylinder is filled and check weighed correctly, the
cylinder category settings must be the same for the operator terminal, carousel
filling station and check scale.
A master list of cylinder categories is stored as part of the configuration of the
AS685 Software. This list applies to all the plant equipment connected to the
AS685, including carousel and individual filling stations, and the check scale
and operator terminal. Each AS685 can be configured with its own set of
cylinder categories. The cylinder category list can be modified from the operator
terminal or the Cybil Software.

44 Kosel IndustriesMalaysia
Cybil 5 Software

See the following section for details on setting up Cylinder Categories using the
Cybil Software. For information on setting up cylinder categories using the
AS675T1 Operator Terminal, see manual MAN-80570.
Please see the Filling Station and Check Scale Manuals listed in the section, ‘1.2
The equipment involved’, for details on selecting and using manual operating
mode. Please note that the operator terminal cannot be used in manual mode.
When one or more of the filling stations have been operated manually, the
category settings for the filling station could be set differently. Therefore, when
the AS685 is first started up, or if the AS685 detects that any of the connected
equipment has been powered up, or if any equipment is switched from manual
to automatic operation, the AS685 will attempt to ‘download’ the Category
Categories to the plant equipment connected to it.

3.4.2 Setting up Cylinder Categories

To add, edit or delete a Cylinder Category, click on the ‘Cylinder Category' icon
from the Setup tab at the top of the page, to open the Cylinder Category list
window. The following window will open (refer to Figure 3.7).

Figure 3.7 – Cylinder Category list

Warning
If you choose to modify the Cylinder Category List, it may take some time to
download the modified list and may disrupt the filling process. Please ensure
that all operator station, filling, and check weighing operations are complete
before changing cylinder categories.
This function is password protected. To access this feature, the user must have a
Supervisory or Administrator password. To set up a password, see the section,
‘3.3 Configuring Password Protection’ for details.

3.4.3 Adding a cylinder category

To add a cylinder category, click on the Add Cylinder Category button and new
record row will open and display the following field:
 Resolution - This field can be set to 0.1 or 0.05 kg and determines the
resolution of the other parameters, Nominal Gas Capacity, Nominal Tare
Weight, Underfill Tolerance and Overfill Tolerance.
 Nominal Gas (Capacity) - The Nominal Gas Capacity is the final target
weight of gas in the cylinder after filling. The setting range for this field is
4.00 to 55.00 kg.
 Nominal Tare (Weight) - This setting is used for ‘Fast Tare Weight
Entry’ mode. It must be set to the average Tare Weight of the cylinders in
this category. The setting range for this field is 4.00 to 55.00 kg.
 Tare Entry Method - The keyboard Tare Weight Entry method. This can
be either SLOW, FAST or FIXED. This allows the entry method to be
determined at the time the cylinder category is selected.
 Underfill Tol. (Tolerance) - The Underfill Tolerance is the amount of gas
less than the Nominal Gas Capacity that determines whether the Check
Scale accepts or rejects a filled cylinder. The setting range for this field is
0.00 to 2.50 kg.
 Overfill Tol. (Tolerance) - The Overfill Tolerance is the amount of gas
greater than the Nominal Gas Capacity that determines whether the Check
Scale accepts or rejects a filled cylinder. The setting range for this field is
0.00 to 2.50 kg.
For example, a 15 kg domestic cylinder with an average tare weight of 12.4 kg,
could have the following settings:
Resolution = 0.1
Nominal Gas Capacity = 15.0
Nominal Tare Weight = 12.4
Tare Entry Method = Fast
Underfill Tolerance = 0.3
Overfill Tolerance = 0
With these settings, any cylinder having a filled gas weight of greater than 15.0
kg or less than 14.7 kg would be rejected.

The left section of the window is used to select the desired data and format for
the report.

There is additional function where the User can add new Preset to the report
(refer to Figure 4.7). This function can be used to configure, preview and print
user definable reports. There are 3 type of reports preset in the system as
follows:
1) Today by Hour report
2) Today by Machine report
3) Filling Accuracy report
Using the Filter tab, the data can be ‘filtered’ so that the user has full control
over the what data is extracted from the database. Once the report is configured,
the ‘filter’ criteria can be saved by selecting the ‘Presets’ button to create
flexible, user defined standard reports that can be easily recalled for printing.
