EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

In the early 80’s, playing cards was one of the famous games and most people play card games for
the entertainment value they provide. They spent time for playing cards not only for gambling but
also they are building relationship towards to their competitors. The main user of cards are the
clubs. Some companies use playing cards as sales promotion tool, or as a complimentary give-
away. The wholesale market accounts for majority of sales. The retail sales are insignificant.

Therefore some cards were not used. And aside from that, people nowadays don’t usually play
cards because of the technologies around them and the fact that playing cards is considered as
gambling. But, if playing cards will be considered as one of the sports, maybe, there might be a
chance that card business will grow again.

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

To create strategies on how to boost the card industry.

OBJECTIVES OF THE PROBLEM

Determine the strategies on how to boost card industry in the market.


Determine factors that affect the decline of the market for cards.

ANALYSIS OF THE PROBLEM

A. Major Details (SWOT Analysis)

Strength:
There’s a lot of manufacturers for cards.
Cards are still used to play by some people.

Weakness:
A lot of manufacturers can lead to over production.
Playing cards is not for leisure any longer but it’s considered for gambling only.

Opportunities:
Cards are used in clubs especially for gambling.
There are still several gamblers who are patronizing cards.
Threats:
People nowadays are using other technologies such as playing gadgets, watching TV’s for their
leisure time.
Other companies tend to be better than others despite the fact that their branding are the same
but the quality of the product differs.

B. Minor Details

Jokers and aces and other 48 pieces which make a pack of cards are having harrowing times. In the
early 80's the business was good. Then there was a glut mainly due to unorganized market players.
The demand remained constant, and the market got fragmented.

ALTERNATIVE COURSE OF ACTION

Create more new game and tricks in cards.


Manufacturers should decide on the quality of the product to be produced to avoid competition
within and among them.
Make cards to be relevant for all ages.
Improve the style and design of cards to catch the attention of consumer.

CONCLUSION

The different card features investigated here tended to interact in ways you might expect. For
example, the same cards that participants tended to say mistakenly were in a visual stream, also
tended to be the most accessible verbally and visually. More accessible cards were also liked more.

RECOMMENDATION

Manufacturers should agree within themselves since they are of the same brand, the quality of
their products. They should have a quality check every time they supply the market to have quality
assurance and to avoid competition.
QUESTIONS:

1. Is branding possible?
Yes, Brand name is one of the most important thing when you are selling one product.
Many of the people perception is to check the brand first before they buy it.

2. How card usage can be promoted? Give atleast 3 promotional strategy

 Promote it in social media.


 Post it in newspaper and magazines.
 Promote it buy the use of famous artist.
