Parents, did you know that the CCSD parent survey counts towards our points for our state STAR Rating? It does and
we can really use your participation. Please take 5 minutes to complete the parent survey, it can be done using your
cellphone or on a computer. The link is below. The survey closes December 20th. Once you complete the survey, please
email your child’s teacher and they will receive a free-night homework pass.

Winter Break is from December 21st through January 5th!
Students return to school on Monday, January 6, 2020!
The office and school building will be closed for the two weeks of break.

“Broken Record Report:” No matter how many times we send out notices and reminders, people still turn left out of the lot.
It happens every day. DON’T TURN LEFT OUT OF THE LOT. The same goes for parking and leaving your vehicle in a red
zone. If your child must leave school early, please do so before 3:10 pm. Students are not dismissed after 3:10 pm for early
outs.

PTA News: The Penguin Patch final day to purchase gifts…Monday, 12/16/19. No PTA meeting for the month of
December. No SOT meeting for December.

End of Semester Ends Friday, 12/20: All assignments need to be caught up, AR points completed, and students working
hard to finish the semester strong. All grading will close on Friday, December 20th. No late or missing work will be accepted
after that date. Just a reminder to be checking your child’s grades weekly on Infinite Campus.

Jan 6-10 African Drummer in Music All Week and just cannot accommodate all our former

Jan 14 SOT 5 pm/PTA 6 pm the final week before Winter Break as we
Jan 20 No school in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. are completing our MAPS assessments.

Feb 11 SOT 5 pm/PTA 6 pm Nominations for the 2020 Heart of Education Awards are open in
Feb 12 FACES Family Engagement Night Fall 2019. As a nominator, please be prepared to provide:

Feb 17 No School in observance of President’s Day

Feb 28 4th Grade Musical Performance If you’d like to nominate your student’s teacher visit the “Heart of
Education” at the Smith Center for CCSD Teachers and complete a
nomination form.
