Weekly Reflection #2 (9/30-10/6)

Monday: Final preparations for business symposium underway. Final resumes are printed on

resume paper and portfolios are prepared for wednesday symposium.

Tuesday:.Business symposium rules and standards are explained and final attempt to calm

nerves are soothed. Performed a final mock interview and networking session during class which

is the last preparations needed for business symposium.

Wednesday: Business symposium day conducted two interviews one with an IBM cloud

manager and an IT analytic as well as a networking session where I gathered one contact

information out of the two full conversations had. Attended a speech with IRock resume where

we discussed goals and ways to achieve final goals and a final network session conducted with

other independent study mentorship students and discussed future aspirations and ISM work.

Thursday: reviewed business symposium and began to work on future assignments and make

contacts during class for research interviews. During work I was able to talk with and gather the

contact information for a Registered Nurse at Prysbiterain hospital in dallas would be my first

interview if successful.

Friday: Contacted registered nurse at presybiterain hospital cardiothoracic clinic in dallas and

scheduled interview for next tuesday 10/7 at 1 pm. Continued to find contact information for

interventional cardiologist as well as nurses that assist these physicians.

Saturday: Considered changing LinkedIn profile to one that was business and professional

based but would require a full reassessment and altercations to current profile. Used the premium

LinkedIn to make initial contacts through LinkedIn. Began email to send to contact that I made

during business symposium.

Sunday: Focused on alternate school assignments to maintain grades as progress was made on

Saturday for independent study mentorship. Began project for Ap Literature as well as finished

work in AP Calculus and AP Physics.

Reflection: Progress has been made for sure with the first interview schedule and more contacts

made but I need to continue to step up with increasing contacts and hopeful interviews in the

future. Made progress in confidence and was able to progress through phone call and business

symposium with little to no issues with anxiety or fear.

Goals going forth: Contact all of the people on my contact list through calling the clinics that

they work in suck as Medical City, and Baylor Scott and White. Seek the full contact information

from family for the two cardiologists only was able to obtain their names.
