1 Install engine in engine assembly stand. AR01.00-W-0002H
2 Remove flywheel (10). AR03.30-W-8002H
3 Remove starter (M1). Nut, starter to timing case *BA15.30-N-1001-01Q
4 Check starter drive pinion for wear. If problems occur,

Replace starter (M1).

5 Remove resonator box of compressor. Only for engine 470.9

20 Remove radial shaft sealing ring(6). AR03.20-W-3063H
21 Remove screws (2, 3, 4). Tightening procedure for timing case AR01.60-W-8200-02H
Installation: Observe tightening procedure
(1) for timing case.
Bolt, timing case to crankcase *BA01.60-N-1003-01N
22 Remove the timing case (1). Loosen the timing case (1) using a plastic
mallet if necessary.
23 Check the timing case (1) for damage. If problems occur,

Replace timing case (1).

24 Remove seal (24). Installation: Place new seal (24) over
both guide pins
(25) of the crankcase.
25 Clean sealing surfaces on crankcase and on Assembly cleaner *BR00.45-Z-1028-04A
timing case (1).
26 Unscrew screws (29) and remove mounting Only when replacing timing case (1).
plate (30) together with intermediate gear (31)
and needle bearing (32) from pin (33).

27 Check pin (33) for damage. If problems occur,

30 Install in the reverse order
